@BagOfMagicFood this came out the year 2007 and the power rangers training dvds came out in 2005 and 2006. If I had to guess why they use footage of the 1994 series, it's likely because of 2/3 reasons. The second is like what you said, the toy was made to promote Spider-Man 3 as Venom is the most focused, and the 1994 cartoon is the only one at the time that had Venom at the time (both "Unlimited" and the Neil Patrick Harris cartoon only had 1 season, and while Venom was in the former, he only appeared a few times and most of the cartoon deals with Spidey on the furries). Keep in mind, this is before the other cartoons with Vemon show up. Third is because that cartoon was responsible for making the venom suit as it was depicted, as the comics didn't add details that it can be a toxic host.
True. Plus the 1994 cartoon is a classic. Spider-Man Unlimited had the animal men, and it would not match due to Spidey wearing a different suit (which is due to mandates put on Saban due to the Sony movie) and the MTV Spider-Man cartoon is also known for not being kid-friendly at times.
While it’s still a strange choice considering how long the show had been over by that point, it’s worth noting as someone who grew up during the 2000’s Spider-Man TAS actually wasn’t uncommon to find reairing throughout the decade, usually on Disney/Toon Disney/XD iirc, to the point showrunner John Semper is vocally proud of it in interviews. Hell I would be too lol

I remember that being shared when I was following a Power Rangers forum online! At first people were wondering if it contained any hints toward the upcoming season Operation Overdrive, but no, not really, not unless you count its original villain "Lord Mortar" from the CG simulation finale having a similar name to Moltor.
@@BagOfMagicFood It would've been cool of they had been able to secure the rights to use the Aka Red costume from Boukenger vs. Super Sentai and have him be the Rex Ranger instead of having some French-Canadian guy wearing a vaguely futuristic looking karate-gi. Might've given the production a bit more of a flair of authenticity to it.
I'm actually surprised someone remembered this. I actually watched this a shit ton as a kid, and yes I played along every time too. Obviously it was never good to begin with and I was just a dumb kid that loved Spider-Man, but I still look back on it fondly even tho I know it's bad. I guess you could say it's a nostalgic guilty pleasure
A reason why they were using 94 footage is because they released DVDs around this time of the 94 series and marketed them as "tie-ins" for the movie. I remember being very disappointed as a kid when I grabbed their Green Goblin one and... was treated to just two horribly barely connected episodes of an obviously unrelated cartoon show which may have been better if they werent from the middle of two different arcs with nothing to give me context for the story theyre actually from.

@@brianhebert6152 Well, fortunately, the bugs were all worked out by the time S.P.D. integrated the software into their on-site combat simulator.
@@landonsantini365 Wait, it was the same guy who played Spider in that video too?
I'm actually surprised someone remembered this. I actually watched this a shit ton as a kid, and yes I played along every time too. Obviously it was never good to begin with and I was just a dumb kid that loved Spider-Man, but I still look back on it fondly even tho I know it's bad. I guess you could say it's a nostalgic guilty pleasure

My favorite part of Morbius is when he says "it's cloblin time"
I need Phelan to do the Raimi Trilogy now
Y'know, there was a power rangers training video like this. If only I still had it so i could send it to you for review.
It’s uploaded to youtube
I think web gliding is more spider-woman's thing. Spider-man usually web swings which is what he was doing in the viedo.
A reason why they were using 94 footage is because they released DVDs around this time of the 94 series and marketed them as "tie-ins" for the movie.
I remember being very disappointed as a kid when I grabbed their Green Goblin one and... was treated to just two horribly barely connected episodes of an obviously unrelated cartoon show which may have been better if they werent from the middle of two different arcs with nothing to give me context for the story theyre actually from.
given how Spidey looks in this training studio video I'm half expecting Spidey going out in Arizona to do some Mystery of the Cliffs
These kind of videos are the best for Phelous.
