pretty easy to understand without the short cuts I've seen in other videos. Thanks.

Getting ready to use this installment video on my 12' Frontier by Nucanoe will let you know how it turned out!

I initially thought the carabiners were too small as well. However, the larger part of the carabiner is meant for the pulley. The smaller part of the carabiner is meant for the clamp riveted to the kayak. The video shows the carabiners attached differently than the instructions. Follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

So is the zig zag cleat used to secure the trolley into position or the anchor?

Are those rivet holes water proof?

Will the rivets work with the new pad eyes? They are much thinner.

What is that tool at 1:22 and what's it do?

    • @sealectdesigns

Hello, and thank you for the comment! The tool we use is a pop rivet gun, which is a great way to attach an item when you aren't able to reach the backside (as you would need to do in order to tighten a screw). The link below will take you to the pop rivet gun we sell thru our dealers (or, almost every hardware store has one as well). In addition, I'll include a video that covers how it works in a little more detail. Thanks again for thinking of Sea-Lect Designs!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We discovered there’s an irregularity in the curve of the pulley making it not fit some of the snap hooks. The short term fix is to turn the hook in the opposite direction as indicated in this video. We’ll also be upgrading the kit to include stainless steel pad eyes to facilitate this process. If you’re experiencing this issue, please send us an e-mail at info(at)sealectdesigns(dot)com and we’ll send you replacement parts for free. Thank you!

This video was very confusing and I wasn't really sure what any of the advantages were between riveting and using the nuts. I discovered using the nuts and bolts was way harder. Also it's not unclear how you stabilize the line once you've got it installed I think you hook it over that black plastic thing but it absolutely is on for about two seconds and then it's gone and you can't really tell what you're supposed to do.

Sean - thanks for letting us know that there seems to be a problem with your kit. Shoot us an e-mail at info(at)sealectdesigns(dot)com and we'll try to figure out what's up, and we’ll get you what you need to fix the situation. Once again, thank you!

strata g - the new stainless pad eyes are being included with all newly manufactured kits ... however, there are likely some still out there in retail shops that have the older pad eyes. If that's the case with yours, please send us an e-mail at info(at)sealectdesigns(dot)com and we’ll send you the newer parts for free. Thank you!
