I live in cape town, south Africa. My grandmother owns a C-Class and one day I took it to get a service at the dealership. When I went to collect the car there was a CLk DTM next to it. I ofc knew what it was and was amazed by it's beauty. Fun fact there are 3 DTM coupes and 2 Roadsters in South Africa. What a timeless machine by HWA and mercedes.
I had the pleasure of riding in one of these around Goodwood Circuit on a special charity day. Peter would hire the circuit for the day and all proceeds would go to his nominated charity. Peter has a large collection of go faster cars, when I got in the passager side of the car as I opened the door the lower door trim fell off (carbon) and hit the tarmac, Peter was FURIOUS as the dealer was supposed to have repaired it the week before...
I have always been more of an Audi Porsche holy grail kind of dude, but this is THE Mercedes. Have and will lust over a DTM for the rest of my life. It is also so effortlessly handsome too, and makes a noise I have never heard any other car make. Thank you Temerian for showing off my favorite Mercedes-Benz product!
I saw this in Penske Mercedes Benz of Warwick RI a year an ago tucked away and lost my mind. Turns out was owned by Audrain Auto Museum. This car in person is just Amazing. I was in Awe. The details and numbers really make it a Unicorn. When you know you Know.
I'm pretty sure I saw a real one at a show in Calabasas, pretty cool. Possibly an F40LM, too. Now, if I could just stumble upon a 288GTO and a 333SP, I'd be set, haha!
I actually got to sit in and drive in one of these in California in like 2006/2007 time. Mid size California town and the owner of a car dealership and bank had one. I remember him telling me there was like 60 in silver, 40 in black. They weren’t street legal and he was trying to figure out if Canepa could make it that or sell it. Absolutely mental, wild car.
09:01 Cant help but notice theres only 2 window controls on the drivers door. Do they only control the left side windows or is one for the left and one for the right and the rears dont go down? I drive a clk 320 c209 as a daily and big part of getting the car was beeing able to drive with the windows down without the b-pillar. Its such a unique driving feel. Its like driving a convertible, but in cool without beeing constantly exposed to the sun and having to deal with the ugly soft top.
I had an opportunity to buy one in 2007 or 2008. We were at a hanger near Scottsdale Air Park… my eyes immediately went to it and knew what it was. Crazy
In theory you could clone this car to a certain point but to have it legitimate from the factory is pretty awesome, exotic rare bird for sure. Congrats on the studio.
Hi John: Is it possible to lower or raise the side windows with the key fob? I used work at Mercedes-Benz dealership doing pdi for all new Mercedes-Benz cars and suvs from 2004 to 2009. I remember being able to "vent" the car by opening all windows by pointing the key fob at the sensor in the door handle (holding the unlock button with lights flashing twice). Then hold the lock button would reverse the process by closing the windows.
I’ve been lucky to own a C55 AMG and a E55 AMG. The M113 and M113k engine is one of the best engines ever produced. The E55 was the fastest sedan in the world in 2003. The 5 speed automatic transmission was unfortunately uninspiring. Such a legendary era though with the E39 M5, E55, S600/65 and alike.
We want to see an Enzo a d why it is so special, but also any weird concept cars a d a good investment for you guys is Group B rally cars. That's become a big thing with middle aged collectors, those cars developed for Group B rally racing. Even Ferrari got into the mix, won't share what car they made, but if that car went to group B, I would have been amazed.
Love this car and channel. But to say nothing like it will be made again when you can get a Mustang GTD is a bit of a stretch. Then there is that new Lexus on the way as a follow up to the LFA. As amazing as the CLK DTM is there are some pretty amazing cars now that would leave it in the dust.
What an amazing car and setup! A must watch video on youtube on with CLKs is “Kim Dotcom on the Ring”! Not 1, not 2 but 3 CLKs DTM featuring Kimi Raikkonen on the Nürburgring. And I agree, I would pick the cabriolet version❤
I had a conversation a few weeks back with a co-worker of mine who watches UA-cam with me during the overnights who once got annoyed at me for watching you guys because the content was all 'exclusive hyper cars' and 'garage queens stored to never be seen again' and I had to explain that while you're a car dealership and a business... you're not just car enthusiasts but archivists of truly special machines. If someone finds something absurdly special and wants to restore it not just as a cool restomod but truly back to stock, the cars that you guys collect and sell are sometimes one of one museum examples for future generations to rebuild those abandoned machines to spec for us to experience. I'll never be able to afford any of my dream cars (and if you ever have a proper Lancia Stratos or Alfa 33 Stradale on the channel, watching John try not to die driving them would be an equal treat), but ensuring that these dream machines land in the kind of hands that understand the enthusiasm behind those dreams is something irreplaceable. Thanks for all the hard work keeping our poster cars in the kind of shape and engineering we fell in love slapping some sticky-tacky to the back of some library-printed dream machine wishing we could experience it for just a moment.
I cannot get excited over the car. I remember seeing one of these for sale I. Germany at a car show in 2018. It was very low miles and pristine. Dude was asking $450K. I would much rather pay $800K for an SLS BS. Just my 2 cents.
Talking about a second gen clk while showing the first gen racecar when they did race the second gen and you could have found them to be more cohesive….. apparently you need to hire someone who could tell you that before posting a vid.

This shape of CLK is such perfect, modern-classic Mercedes to me. Always loved the AMG CLKs
You could sell this thing today and people would think it came out in 2024, timeless aesthetic, beautiful lines.
agreed!
nah it is obvious it came out in the 2000s but it sure is a beautiful car
No they would think it’s a 3k old ass benz
@@mehdieminem fr. SHIT SLOW AS FUCK TOO LOL.
@@Waterboysplash580hp and 199mph slow, sure buddy

Couldn't agree more! The lines are so good and the performance is next level
So badass... no other words. I'm speechless
Thoroughly enjoyed learning more about HWA. Had no idea! Makes me want their reimagined evo2 all the more!!
HWA is AMG before it became a trim level
You can hear the passion for cars in your voice and I love to see it!

Only real car enthusiasts know how special these are!
DTM is a masterpiece! i own the regular CLK and i love it... can't imagine this beast!
Years ago I saw one of these on a lift at a porsche service center of all places.
you saw a hidden gem!
That studio is so dope. Really showcasing the vehicle perfectly
Good lord that’s a bucket list car
This and CLK GTR Super Sport are my fav kind of Mercedes from HWA ❤

haha that's a great show!
I really love my e55 AMG. I can only imagine how much better the CLK DTM is.
Back in 2008 or so, MB of Laguna Niguel had both the coupe and cabriolet CLK DTMs in their showroom.
The car I had to have in Gran Turismo with that hack :) top 5 car of all time!!

I believe this one doesn't have the operative rear Windows due to body rigidity. The black series does have them tho
Thats a car to keep forever. Looks amazing
DTM was the true masterclass of motorsport
100%!!!

coming soon!!
For sure. It's pretty rad!!
I wnt to see more of you CLK w208, that for me is the most beautiful Mercedes made, the dtm version of the 208 is even more beautiful

Love the LA hat bro.
Very nice, would look out of place on the estate I live, but I can handle that.
Such a great shape! Definitely doesn't get the respect it deserves.
Please bring one of the SE30's in that studio!
awesome 👌🏁
I'd love to see the Diablo SVRs featured in the new studio. We never see all of the details on these cars.

Mercedes is such an interesting brand. I cant imagine choosing BMW over Mercedes (im talking enthusiasts)

Mechatronik has a Mercedes CLK 63 AMG Black Series Tracksport in their collection, a model I didn't even about.
What happened to the CLK manual conversion you were working on?
One of the coolest cars ever
couldn't agree more!
John, wear the seatbelt man🙏🙏. You have a family.. kids. Do it for them
yeeessssshhh❤ keep it going
The 190E EVO II and the CLK DTM, two of the Greatest Saloon/Touring cars EVER.
Always loved the CLK DTM. But, are you not wearing your seatbelt and glancing at something in your lap? Set a better example please.
I remember back in 2018 you guys had a black one
El santo grial del D.T.M
Kimi’s last name is Räikkönen not Raikonnen
Amazing benz 🎉

How's your manual swap CLK coming along?
It's done! We'll have to do a video soon
Beast Mode
I'd say the Mustang GTD qualifies as race car adapted for the street from a major manufacturer,
Renntech did the US emissions conversion for a few of these. Was this car one of those cars?
review the clk dtm, you get a sub
haha thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
Keep am eye on the BMW E46 M3 CSL…. I’m sure this will be your nr.4😊
Okay, if you think you should raffle this car for your subscribers. Who am I to argue with you, John?
I want one
Let’s go!
