Anyone wondering about the tuning. Bruce and I discussed it before we started the video. In the video he says "Tune it down to Eb, and drop the D . He loosely meant to drop the 6th string (which is now Eb) down a whole step so it's now Db or (C#). It's more widely-known as Drop C# tuning which is what is written on the screen.
I was back stage at the Hot In The Shade Tour in Phoenix. Got to say, “Hi” to Bruce walking around in his bathrobe. Paul Stanley, too. I was a guest of Gene’s bass tech on that tour. I had a blast, but skipped the intro because I was afraid maybe they’re not in the mood for fans… Still, it was a great show and a memory for a lifetime.
Met Bruce after the show in Erie, PA and hung out at the hotel bar with him and Eric for a while. A totally regular, down to earth guy. Talked about guitars, rigs, the shows, joking around... I even signed an autograph for a girl cuz she thought I was part of their entourage :) haha! The good old 80s!!!
Bruce Kulick is a class act and underrated player. Much respect. Great solo here. Loved the Revenge album the most from his era in the band, and his fiery playing on it was a big reason why it’s so great.
Bruce is the best "lead" guitar player KISS ever had. He is technically proficient and very tasteful. Everything I have read about Bruce tells me he is humble and approachable. God bless him and all his work.
You explain him perfectly. People don’t always credit him with his technical ability. He’s a “technician”. His ability on acoustic is unmatched by any and all other KISS guitarists, past and present. Unplugged is what really showed me how great he was. I mean I knew Forever was an exceptional solo, but to see how he matched acoustic solos with the electric counter part during the Unplugged show without a mistake totally awed me. Bruce is an excellent lead guitarist.

I really liked Vinnie Vincent's approach (tamed by a producer) on Creatures and Lick it Up, but Bruce is very technical and fit better in Kiss's style. This acoustic solo is beautiful 💙🤘🏼
Bruce is so technically great and such a nice person.I met him at the KISS conventions such a class act.He took the time for everyone that wanted to talk to him.He was the first to come out and do a guitar clinic and the last to leave.Bruce thanks for doing what you do for all the years.
Met Bruce once…what a legend bloke…he was so stocked we printed up our own kulick t-shirts…he had a real conversation with us and spent the time….his solo records are awesome! Love ya Bruce 🤘🤘🤘
Bruce is just such an easy going guy. Met him years ago when the band I was in opened up for Union. Had a nice little conversation with him, and it seemed like I was talking to someone I've known for years. Just so cool and friendly... oh, and a GREAT guitarist! I'll never forget that experience.
Very cool. I've always loved Bruce. He's such an underrated, brilliant guitarist. And he always seems like a good dude. If you read Paul Stanley's book, he pretty much shits on just about everyone that's ever been in the band at least a little...except for Bruce. He doesn't have a single bad word to say about him and numerous times is just like "man, what a mensch that guy is."
I concur. I mean Ace was the guitarist when I discovered Kiss, but Bruce was the guitarist when I was really learning guitar and I always thought he was more of a musical guitarist. Really put time and theory into his solo's etc. He was my favorite guitarist of Kiss.
I was backstage at Hot in the Shade, accompanied by Gene’s bass tech. Passed on the invitation to meet the band because, as a life-long KISS fan, I was afraid I might get the “bad day” reception and blow my hero worship (I’d already been kicked out of Slaughter’s dressing room, having mistaken it for catering…). Yes, I regret very much missing that opportunity. Dave had my vinyl album cover autographed, I said,”Hi,” to Paul and Bruce, both walking around in their bath robes, and generally had a great time. Alas, Eric Carr would pass just a few months later. But the night was still magical. Bruce, for my money, was the best guitarist KISS ever had. Period.
The part he said Paul played on the Steinberger sounds like the intro to "True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper. "Forever" is a magnificent song though and the guitar solo on it is one of my favorites ever. Great job Bruce Kulick.
I'm not really a lead player, so I've been rage qutting this solo for 10 years. It is so unbelievably inspiring to have the dude who actually wrote it show you the phrasing. Thanks so much for making this video, and thanks to Bruce for being such a good dude. This video made my day.
What an honour to sit in on this. Thanks to the tv studio that we carry in our pocket it's never been easier to actually connect with your heroes. A pleasure to watch.
This is one of the best Kiss songs! Bruce, Kiss was so lucky to have you. I still wish you were in the band. Thanks for all of the great hits that made my childhood. 🤘🏻
It's so awesome to see an iconic guitar player telling people to use their freaking pinkies, because 99.5% of people don't remember they have it and that they can use it to play.
Awsome stuff!! Bruce is a super class act. Have always loved his era with KISS. He and Eric Carr helped KISS survive the 80's with there superb musianship!
Saw Kulick at Market Square Arena in Indy. It was one of the shows that ended up on Alive III. (I'm the dude screaming in the cheap seats, btw.) What an incredible show. 🤘😎
Bruce is such a great person first of all and he is an amazing guitarist.I actually got to talk to him on Facebook a few years back ,We talked about his guitar collection and the guitars he played for kiss that I really liked .I was really surprised that he was so down to earth, alot of other famous musicians I've chatted with online have huge ego problems and always seem to act like they are God's or some shit but Bruce was the coolest guy no ego what so ever.He was really surprised when I told him he is my favorite guitarist that has been in KISSJust listen closely to his solos and that says it all he is a phenomenal musician.
That was super cool interview and I love when you said how nowadays through the internet you can reach out to someone famous and they respond. It happened to me and Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante.Im a drummer and he posted a video about practicing and I asked him a question about how he dealt with his carpal tunnel issue and he responded almost immediately and we chatted briefly>Charlie is one of my drum heros from back in the day and I was blown away that he responded....
I got to see Bruce with Kiss on the 1985 Asylum Tour along with Eric Carr but my first rock concert was 1979 Kiss Dynasty Tour my dad took me i was in first grade, changed my life!!
Bruce is just one of a kind. You would never even know of his fame. I met him around 6 or 7 times. By the 4th time, He actually knew my name even before I spoke a single word to him. At the time I worked for Pepsi? He seen me walking by in the backstage area (I was filling vendors.) And said "Hey man, How you doing. Nice to see you again" I was just floored. Just a amazing guy!
Anything KISS can't be bad! Love Ace! But you can't be a true KISS if you can't enjoy the other members that followed the original members! Thank you Mr Kulick!
Bruce was and is a Spectacular Guitar player, Very understated... Ace even says he has mad respect for Bruce... I think he's a Great Fella. So was his Brother Bob... Awesome video... Take care and Keep on Rockin' ... Frehleyizhere27
Love the song forever and danced with my wife to it at our wedding my choice. She chose another song as well. So this always will have a special place in my heart
It took me awhile to warm up to Bruce after Vinnie, who played and wrote on my two fave KISS albums Creatures and LIU. I will say that Bruce is way beyond Tommy in terms of creativity and soul.

Any chance you could ask Bruce how he played the solo to "Love's a Deadly Weapon"? I think that's one of he finest hours as a guitarist

Bruce is fucking awesome for mingling with fans like this.
This would've been a dream to us 35-40 years ago.

Cept Ace was still best for kiss.
Bruce is my favorite guitar player KISS ever had.

Hot In The Shade was my first concert too! I was 15. It changed my life.

This is so cool. Bruce Kulick is such and underrated guitar player. Dude is one of the unsung monsters of the 80's and even a lot of the 90's.

My favourite 80s acoustic solo hands down !
Bruce is the man.
This is amazing. Bruce is a bloody brilliant human for this. Not only do I love his era of kiss, but now I love the man as a person!
Saw Bruce with Kiss in 88. Great player.
The Best Guitarist KiSS has ever had!
Gene, you don't need this burner account to trash Ace (and Paul)!!
I concur. I mean Ace was the guitarist when I discovered Kiss, but Bruce was the guitarist when I was really learning guitar and I always thought he was more of a musical guitarist. Really put time and theory into his solo's etc. He was my favorite guitarist of Kiss.

@@thebert8141 Bruce runs rings around both of them, son
Happy Birthday, Bruce!
WOW!! WATCHING THIS WAS PURE HEAVEN!!!!
I had no idea Bruce was such a good teacher. GREAT! And a nice guy!

Bruce always sharing! Thanks both for doing this video!!❤
What an incredible guitarist and person. It’s refreshing to see such a talented guy be so warm and humble.
This is amazing Mike. I love Bruce Kulick he’s one of my all time favorite Guitarist.
The part he said Paul played on the Steinberger sounds like the intro to "True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper.
"Forever" is a magnificent song though and the guitar solo on it is one of my favorites ever. Great job Bruce Kulick.
One of my all-time favorites
Man, Bruce's Ovation sounds incredible.
I think it's the same one from Unpluged. It still sounds great.
@@justinjohnson1618 yeah it is. I love it.
I love that you keep getting these legends on to give you lessons. Really feels like they are passing the torch to younger generations.
Hot in the Shade was my first tour also. October 1990 Phoenix Arizona. Kiss fan since mid 70s but growing up in Alaska Kiss rarely made it up there.
I was at that show too.
What a unique solo
Bruce Kulick is one of my Inspirations and influenced me to pick up the guitar. Forever is one of my favorite songs
I own a mid-nineties Ovation Elite Standard because I watched their Unplugged VHS tape every after school. I love his playing.

My first KISS show was this tour as well. Their voices were on fire! Great chat!
Awesome!🤘🏻 I'm so happy I got to see KISS in 2019, such a killer show!🔥
Me too! Saw them in Toronto 2019 for the very first time. Just an awesome show!
Saw them at Graspop Metal Meeting in 2019, it was such a cool show. Just like Bruce mentioned in the video, the production behind the band is insane
This is great. Bruce is awesome and so down to earth. Thank you both for doing this!
My fav KISS record is Carnival of Souls. Bruce is a monster on that.
It's so awesome to see an iconic guitar player telling people to use their freaking pinkies, because 99.5% of people don't remember they have it and that they can use it to play.

Love Bruce Kulick what a great dude and underestimated musician as well. Great video.
Underestimated by who?? By you maybe dude. Cmon
Kulick is such a great guy! My favorite guitarist in Kiss without a doubt.
Really enjoyed this. Beautiful solo and clear instruction from the writer of the solo.
So awesome to learn from the master himself!
Hot in the Shade was my very first concert ever too!!! It was on the last day of second grade for me!
I really love Bruce. A cool dude and a decent man. And one of the best Lead Guitarists KISS ever had.
I've seen KISS a few times. I saw them with Bruce in December of 1985 in Providence. Great show. Great Video Mike
Bruce is fantastic. Thanks so much for having him on.
Tears are Falling is one of my favorite solos of all time.
Bruce is awesome. I wish his era of the band got represented by present-day Kiss a bit more in their live shows.
Saw Kulick at Market Square Arena in Indy. It was one of the shows that ended up on Alive III. (I'm the dude screaming in the cheap seats, btw.)
What an incredible show.

This is so F***ing great. Always wanted to learn that song but I always failed at the solo. I made so much progress thanks to that video

Next to Ace, its Bruce for me! Loved his stuff with Kiss.
