This isn't a 100% certain thing, but from what i've observed. It's the best solution i've figured out. This is all a gigantic guess. It took me a solid half an hour of repeatidly watching this video and noticing all of this to come to this conclusion. Honestly, this trick is absolutely amazing and Jandro is incredibly talented and a genius in creating this masterpiece of a trick. SPOILER -: How I assume the trick is done is below, so if you don't want to see how. Don't continue 1. Pre-planted lego plates under that table. 2. After he comes up from the table with lego's in hand, Jandro's right elbow doesnt leave his bodies side. 3. When he 'eats' the lego, you can see him adjust something at his right elbow afterwards (most likely the lego plate). 4. His elbow still doesn't leave his waist's side when he throws the lego bucket with penn, presumably holding the lego plate. 5. After telling teller to come over and placing his hand across the base of the lego teller. His right hand is obscured from view, to which i'm assuming the lego plate is clicked into place then. 6. The 'Card' is then slotted onto the 'Back' of the lego portrait. The lego card is at a perfect spot for a 2by2 back pannel to cover it. 7. As it is slotted into place, the hole is covered up via a back pannel that I assume is preattached to the planted lego cards. 8. As the card is 'pried' off, Jandro holds the backpanel in place so the back pannel doesn't accidentally fall open and reveal itself. Edited :P As it is lego, penn and teller have no reason to see the card digits as stuck on, as lego clicks together. The trick is so smooth that everything seals itself up afterwards, so penn and teller have no way to see how this trick happen. An absolutely amazing trick. Jandro, thanks for this beautiful magic.
SPOILER I think you're spot on, you can see the Lego plate in his sleeve when he's asking teller to come up to the stage then her drops his hand by his side, presumably to palm the plate, then his hand is behind the canvas most likely attaching the plate, after that he just has to pop the plate out from the other side
I think you're right; The fact of the matter is that only the "border" of the card is definitively attached at the end; every other piece is inverted. If you didn't see the back of the easel before it was put on, you wouldn't even know there was a back. Basically a step up from a traditional "Trap Door" trick.
@@FortWhenTeaThyme To be fair, they'd have to realize the back wasn't entirely on to begin with since by the time Teller inspected it it was solid, so it'd just be a blind guess.
@@steeledminer616 Recall how jandro keeps mentioning how fragile it is. Plus, once a piece is slotted in the difficulty in which is takes to remove it... well, if you use lego you'll know :D
Jandro, I really love that both of your tricks were done using Lego bricks. It's a really interesting technique that I've never seen used in magic before, and I think it matches well with the creativity that Legos are supposed to inspire in people. Congrats on fooling Penn and Teller a second time!
His expression says it all really. The minute he looks at the card face, he looks like he can't believe Jandro did it a second time. His face says "are you kidding me?!"
honestly I think he got really lucky, the color and pattern he chose for the back of the card I think caught them a little off guard and was just the misdirection he needed to slip the real move by them
I haven't seen every Fool Us, but this is the first one I've seen where Penn and Teller didn't even attempt a guess and it's clear why. That's an incredible trick
Most of the time Penn and Teller are closely examining the trick and following the "moves" the magician is doing. They are very good and experienced and can see what the audience can't so to speak. With Jandro, the trick is just happening to them the same way it does to us regular folk and it left them just as mystified. Jandro is really spectacular to be able to do that.
It gets me every time I see this trick. Teller's face when he sees the card just before he holds it up. You can tell it is going through his mind "How did he do that?"
I've just watch both of his performances on Penn & Teller - Fool Us. He's a magician, he's so funny, and he likes playing with Lego. He's my new favorite hero!!! ❤️
Back of the Lego canvas where the card is displayed is open the whole time. He places the correct Lego card with the canvas back on it inside his jacket when he retrieves the Legos. Then, he pulls it from inside his jacket or it slides down to his hand when he reaches behind the canvas to pick the canvas up. At this time, he places the pre-made Lego card with the Lego canvas back in the hole on the back of the canvas. You can see him change the position of his hands several times while handling the canvas to make sure the Lego piece has been secured into the back of the canvas. All thats left is to pry the card off the canvas from the front, there is even a handy slot on the top back of the card, which you can clearly see when Teller flips it over. Easy Peazy.
Yes. The selection was made before he went behind the table. Penn got to the stage late enough. Jandro placed his hand suspiciously behind the canvas... But would P&T not see it? Maybe... What if they inspected the card and realised it was a solid piece of lego, not 2 pieces stuck back to back, but only one piece? It's the only reason I can think of.
I saw "Jandro" and "Penn & Teller" and just knew that I was going to see something funny and amazing by a certifiable lunatic. I was not disappointed. I love your act, Jandro!
It's worth noting that Teller really only had 20 choices, not 52. Damn clever and subtle way to decrease the amount of possibilities to account for. He told Teller to hold up the card with one hand, then with the other hold up an amount of fingers. That eliminates every face card and every number larger than 5. Which means the only options were 1 through 5 for each of the four faces. That's the best I got. No clue how eliminating so many options helps. It was definitely on purpose that he eliminated all those possibilities, but I can't imagine how he used that. I'd say that he had some sort of mechanism that has 20 unique ways to open up and reveal each of the unique 20 cards on the back of it depending on which of the 20 ways you opened it. But, that would either leave a bunch of extra stuff laying around to be obviously seen or it would mean that all the excess for the other 19 possibilities were inside the lego card he GAVE TO PENN AND TELLER! He LET THEM HOLD IT! Not only did he let them hold it, he let them hold it WHILE THEY WERE DISCUSSING HOW HE DID IT! You BET they would have checked that lego card for any trickery! That's probably why they stayed on stage. They wanted to face away from the camera so they wouldn't be revealing the trick to the world. But, they found nothing! So... WHAT THE HELL!?
You can see how he could rearrange the black squares and the red squares into numbers 1-5 and any of the 4 suits depending on whether the card is upside down or not. So any of the 20 choices could be plugged in at the end. That's about as far as I can figure. I'd guess he did some of the manipulation when pulling the canvas off the easel.
The way he removed the card from the canvas (top, left, right, bottom) determines how deep he pulls off the card. So in this case, using the screwdriver from the top is the 2 of diamonds.
@@TooMuchFlipping If you're implying that there's several "layers" to the card, there's a glaring issue with that. Penn and Teller examined the card. They would have caught the trick immediately if that was the case.
@@ajs8738 COULD be buried. If there are indeed several layers of card laid on top of each other, then both the card and the canvas would have remainder layers unless you happened to pick the top or bottom layer. So, unless they picked the bottom layer, there would be leftover layers on the card AND canvas. Unless his method somehow leaves everything behind in/on the canvas. If so... I have no idea how that would work...
@@mendozajovy Yes he is, in a good way. I love his energy. If I was able to see him in Spain doing an hour + show it wouldn't ever get boring. Even if he only spoke en Español.
because the first time, penn and teller (collectively and freely) chose the 2 of diamonds. and then this time, teller just made the same choice - the interesting part is teller decided to pick the same card. but, still, it was a free choice.
You just can't help loving Jandro, his energy, his stage presence, it's just marvelous to watch. Also the imaginative use of Lego, the way he just madly throws the bricks into the buckets... I wish I knew how this trick works, it might be possible to have various layers with different cards, but with Lego that might give you like 2, maybe 3 different cards before the layers become too thick to give away the trick.
When Penn and Teller started running around in circles with Jandro, I about died laughing. That's why Penn and Teller are awesome. They're just big kids! Love the show. Jandro's trick was VERY fooling, and I have no idea how it was done. Edit: I've watched this multiple times now...still not 100% sure how he does it...and I still laugh like crazy when the Penn-Teller-Jandro parade starts!
I got as far as "I wonder if it matters that someone's probably only going to go up to 5 on their fingers and not flash their hands twice for something higher or imagine a good way to convey a face card." Then I thought he might give a real card the slip through the back. But configured blocks? Not sure.
Jandro's pocketing someting at the table when eating the brick and putting it on the back of the painting when teller walks to the stage. That's how far i came.
My guess of how it works: there was probably a hole in the back of the canvas in the place where Teller was holding the card. Jandro pushed the lego cube for 2 of diamonds into the hole when his hand was behind the canvas. The lego cube probably has two layers, one for the face of the card, which Jandro separated from the other layer using the screwdriver. The other layer stayed on the canvas to fill the hole on the canvas. (Jandro probably picked the lego cube for 2 of diamonds when he was bringing up the boxes of lego cubes from the back of the table.)
Picture of Teller a given - he knew Teller would select. 4 suits and 5 possible values. Jandro sets the suit when he picks up the picture by the card. He sets the value by use of the screw driver. I'm basing my analysis on the assumption that the removal card is in fact a sophisticated electronic device. Right or wrong, Jandro is fun.
What an awesome effect! It's a perfect trick to perform for a celebrity appearance, because you have the excellent reveal of the lego image that's almost as stunning as the actual trick reveal itself. It's also perfect for this format, because I couldn't figure out exactly where it was going until it was too late, and I suspect it was the same for P&T. This was really fun. Thanks!
i love your charisma and stage presence . Your a fantastic magician and your tricks are mindbogglingly good. I hope you perform in canada someday ! You bet ill be there if you do!
Yeah there is so much going on and so much time that it could happen anywhere. But nothing obvious and probably not a standard method which is why it fools them.

I think you're spot on, you can see the Lego plate in his sleeve when he's asking teller to come up to the stage then her drops his hand by his side, presumably to palm the plate, then his hand is behind the canvas most likely attaching the plate, after that he just has to pop the plate out from the other side
I think you're right;
The fact of the matter is that only the "border" of the card is definitively attached at the end; every other piece is inverted. If you didn't see the back of the easel before it was put on, you wouldn't even know there was a back.
Basically a step up from a traditional "Trap Door" trick.
Honestly surprised they gave it to him so fast, your method seems spot on and really the only logical conclusion.

Can we appreciate Jandro for getting an HD wide-screen video of his new performance? Jandro, you're the best!

Honestly some of the most infectious positive energy I've ever seen on a stage. Absolutely fantastic 😊
so how did u fool penn and teller twice?
jandro: i gambled twice
😂😂😂😂😂
Jandro, I really love that both of your tricks were done using Lego bricks. It's a really interesting technique that I've never seen used in magic before, and I think it matches well with the creativity that Legos are supposed to inspire in people. Congrats on fooling Penn and Teller a second time!
Penn trying to mimic Jandro's frantic energy at the end lol
Never have I seen Teller 'this' speechless. You can tell by his face that even if he would speak on stage he wouldn't know what to say.
I saw it once... Jandro's first performance.
Cant really compare to anything he is ‘speechless’ throughout all the seasons
His expression says it all really. The minute he looks at the card face, he looks like he can't believe Jandro did it a second time. His face says "are you kidding me?!"
honestly I think he got really lucky, the color and pattern he chose for the back of the card I think caught them a little off guard and was just the misdirection he needed to slip the real move by them
Lmao Jandro celebrates his tricks like he just scored a goal in the world cup 😂😂😂
3:55 Teller's thoughts: "Now I get it. Somehow I picked the same card as last year. He already fooled us and Penn has no idea yet."
6:25 the best part ! Tellers reaction says it all
Love the fact that both of the time, Penn and Teller did not even bothered to sit down and discuss.
"No feet were harmed in the performance of this act."
This man is the DEFINITION OF WHOLESOME
I'm never gonna get old enough to over the fact that the trophy says FU
Every time I watch your performances, the excitement is as overwhelming as the first time. Great job, sir! Great energy! Thank you!
Thanks Gregory! Check out our new magic series in this channel.
Wonderful performance. 12 months well spent, and you didn't let it get you down when you dropped your original illusion. Congrats!
The 2 of diamonds again. That was the real magic.
It was actually the two of diayemonds 😜

@@Robard65 Hahahahha yeah even his voice and words make you grin.
@Topher TheTenth Maybe, maybe not.
Jandro is really spectacular to be able to do that.
it's actually the second time
Damn this guy is such an amazing spirit
He’s the reason I’ve started doing magic

100%!!
I like how his whole act is based on a preschool act, this man literally schooled PENN AND TELLER
If i was a magician, i would do this not to win the price, but only so i can hug that beautiful ms Alyson Hannigan
Teller picking the same card as he did last time is wild
Great performance - both funny and magical! Loved it :)
Thanks Jason!!
Can't wait to see your reaction on this Jason :)
Jason I follow your channel an now I following jandro as well because of you jason
Teller’s expressions during this act are priceless. Jandro is amazing.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The lego Teller was holding up the wrong hand. I'm starting to think this guy can't actually see the future...
It's a mirror reflection. 🙂
The Wanderer Cam better not look in the mirror. May magically break 😆
I CANT GET OVER HIS LITTLE RUN HE DOES WHEN HE FOOLS PENN AND TELLER
This is soooo wholesome
I don’t even care how the trick is done I just love how they’re all being so happy at the end
You can just tell Jandro LOVES what he does! His passion just radiates the everyone! It's awesome to see such positivity in a negative world!
amen!!!
Oh I LOVE those tricks! The ones entirely designed JUST to fool them. They don't even try! Ahah this is so good 😂 Very well played Jandro 👍
He's a maniac and a hell of a performer and very funny. 👍🤣
He is not a maniac. He is crazy and i love his act. I am entertain of his on-stage personality.
@@mendozajovy Yes he is, in a good way. I love his energy. If I was able to see him in Spain doing an hour + show it wouldn't ever get boring. Even if he only spoke en Español.
I love how in his first AND second time on the show Teller picked the 2 of diamonds
Me too :))
Teller’s face when Jandro performs is always amazing!
I just realized I was smiling the whole time...it can't be just me
Amazing. And his character reminds me of Roberto Benigni. Both men are full of joy.
I do find it interesting that both of his tricks the card that was chosen was the two of diamonds.
because the first time, penn and teller (collectively and freely) chose the 2 of diamonds. and then this time, teller just made the same choice - the interesting part is teller decided to pick the same card. but, still, it was a free choice.
Me too :)))
That was incredible. The Lego splash making the picture, the removable correct card, it was just so flawless. An exquisite show of conjuring skill
This is your emergency magic trick hologram. Please state the nature of your emergency.
Penn and Teller wasn’t fooled by the trick itself, they were fooled by him eating one of the legos!
😆😆😆😆
When Penn and Teller started running around in circles with Jandro, I about died laughing. That's why Penn and Teller are awesome. They're just big kids! Love the show. Jandro's trick was VERY fooling, and I have no idea how it was done.
Edit: I've watched this multiple times now...still not 100% sure how he does it...and I still laugh like crazy when the Penn-Teller-Jandro parade starts!
I got as far as "I wonder if it matters that someone's probably only going to go up to 5 on their fingers and not flash their hands twice for something higher or imagine a good way to convey a face card."
Then I thought he might give a real card the slip through the back. But configured blocks? Not sure.
Jandro's pocketing someting at the table when eating the brick and putting it on the back of the painting when teller walks to the stage. That's how far i came.
Yeah, I love to watch how Teller watches the tricks. It's like he's a five year old. That expression on his face and dropped jaw. It's so cute.
That move, just the hint of when you did it, is absolutely mind-blowing. Amazing work. Truly amazing.
4:13 Jandro: "I will count in Spanish, so that every Juan understands..." :-P
My guess of how it works: there was probably a hole in the back of the canvas in the place where Teller was holding the card. Jandro pushed the lego cube for 2 of diamonds into the hole when his hand was behind the canvas. The lego cube probably has two layers, one for the face of the card, which Jandro separated from the other layer using the screwdriver. The other layer stayed on the canvas to fill the hole on the canvas.
(Jandro probably picked the lego cube for 2 of diamonds when he was bringing up the boxes of lego cubes from the back of the table.)
And he took it when he was getting the legos and told penn to come on stage
Picture of Teller a given - he knew Teller would select. 4 suits and 5 possible values. Jandro sets the suit when he picks up the picture by the card. He sets the value by use of the screw driver. I'm basing my analysis on the assumption that the removal card is in fact a sophisticated electronic device. Right or wrong, Jandro is fun.
Such a great performance. His energy is incredible! Easily one of my favorite routines ive seen. Bravo!
Rumor has it that this man is Gargamel in disguise training to defeat the smurfs
everyone running around the stage at the end was so crazy lol, i love it. to say nothing of the trick, which was totally spectacular!
I love this man so much and I want a hug from Jandro
Someday you'll have it
What an awesome effect!
I can only think the switch happened when the canvas was turned around... but how he actually did the switch is beyond me!
Yeah there is so much going on and so much time that it could happen anywhere. But nothing obvious and probably not a standard method which is why it fools them.
Bro where did u get your profile picture? Could you share it please?
