Hi Jean, Good to hear from you... I see that you're catching up on some videos during your break. Glad you're out on your own adventures this summer!
Love these videos
Great to hear Judy. Thanks for watching!
Just wow hon. Thank you for taking me with you
Sharon, so wonderful to have you along. Thanks for watching.
I didn't know birds pant. Interesting. Nice to see you out on the kayaks again. All the song selections complimented the clips very well. That was an impressive view from the top of the lookout trail and adding the drone shot had a nice effect. Great video. 👍👍
That's one thing we really look forward to during our camping trips - time in the water in our kayaks. Thank you for your kind words Daryl. Glad you enjoyed our video and Shannon's music choices (she has such a knack for that). Thanks for watching.
Kathleen 😍
I'm so happy you had your camera set up to catch Shannon getting into and dragged out of that big chair in Brockville. Absolutely priceless 😂😍😍😍 how cool is that railway tunnel? What a wonderful lightshow leading the way 😍 what a glorious day you had for your paddle around those wee islands in Charleston Lake. Such a picturesque area 😍
The Tallow Rock Bay trail looked like a nice hike and worth a look,I loved that wee bridge you stopped for a drink but you definitely made the right call turning back. The back end of that hike would have been so uncomfortable in those conditions. It was nice to see you back home comfortable after your cool down reflecting on the day 💚
The boardwalk at the Quiddity Trail looks like a much nicer place to spend some time nature watching.
Some really beautiful birds spotted here. The Great Crested Flycatcher is a stunner. I heard and spotted it a few times but one that eluded my camera 😁
What a joy to watch you and Shannon enjoying the Landons Bay lookout trail together. That view was absolutely gorgeous and banishes the memories of the Sleeping Giant 🤣😍
So much to love about this video Kathleen and an absolute pleasure to join you as always 😍💚 x
John, your detailed feedback of our videos is incredible. I'm delighted you enjoyed the views, the hikes, birds, Brockville (wasn't that a great tunnel??). It's wonderful to have you along. Thanks so much for watching AND for your kind and detailed comments - they're a joy to read!
@@HikingWithKathleen Kathleen, your weekly uploads are an absolute joy and have me yearning a swift return to Ontario to meet you in person 😍😍😍 I do not miss your Mosquitoes though 😂💚 x
@@isleofbutebyjohnwilliams6783 John, we checked out your video of your trip to Canada last night...and loved it...sent you a comment on the video too.
Thats great just our thing Kayaking and the outdoors just subscribed 👌 those Racoons are quite something 👍 Glyn 🇬🇧
Hi Glyn, thanks for the subscription! Glad you enjoyed our camping trip to Charleston Lake. Great to hear that you enjoy kayaking and the outdoors as well. Thanks for watching.
Wondering Wonderful, I so enjoyed this long, day by day video, and the as always the birds and learning what their names are, great tip to know about raccoons stuck in garbage bins, safer way to help them out, in the city people panic and start yelling lol,
do you have a suggestions for exploring the Guelph, Rockwood area, Woods with Boardwalks,
Power wheelchair friendly a day adventure, thank you for any suggestions, looking forward to next week,
What a gift from nature, you and Shannon are humans who care, can’t wait to see next weeks birth story🌞❤️✨✨
Claudi, so great that you are enjoying these camping adventures...that means a lot that you're enjoying the day-to-day parts as well. Yes, raccoons occasionally get overzealous looking for "free" handouts and fail to plan their exit. That bin had very little garbage in it so the escape route wouldn't have come until days later with more garbage added. Yes, next week's episode will be a touching one...all completed except for Shannon's magic touch with the music. As for hiking trails in the areas you mentioned, years ago I recall leading a hike in Guelph along the Arboretum Trail, University of Guelph. There's a long boardwalk but not sure how accessible it is to get to the boardwalk. So I've inserted the link for you to research and see if it will work for you...Guelph's a pretty city: arboretum.uoguelph.ca/thingstosee/printmap. Given that you live in the GTA area, I bet there are many paved trails that you could use. There certainly are many in the London area. In fact, here's a link for those in TO to get you started: www.toronto.ca/explore-enjoy/parks-recreation/places-spaces/parks-and-recreation-facilities/trails/ Happy Trails Claudi!!
@@HikingWithKathleen Thank you so much for sending theses helpful links, we are planning, I will up date you after the adventure, I already bought a Mosquito hat, yes Shannon the music artist that touches the emotions of the viewer and nature❤️ see you next week, I really want to know what’s in the backyard, Surprise ✨✨✨✨✨
Thank you for my weekly escape; I enjoyed it as always. I don't always laugh out loud during your videos (usually I'm sighing and relearning how to take deep breaths!) but Shannon...what a good sport and Miley scratching away....very funny! I have thought for years that I would like to own a canoe but after watching your kayaking videos, I'm wondering if a kayak would be a better choice. What do you think? Do your arms get really tired? I have a bad lower back...how do you think I'd fare? Hope that's ok to ask. Thanks again for the amazing footage!!! :)
Susan, I'm glad you enjoyed that...and the comic relief (Shannon and Miley), haha. Regarding kayaking vs canoeing, we get tired after paddling the kayak for three or so hours like on our paddle in the Saugeen River (MacGregor Point video), while that would probably also be true for canoeing. We haven't done that for a few years...but I promise, the next camping outing (early fall) we will be bringing our new canoe. What matters most for your lower back is if you can carry it off or out of your vehicle. We just got rid of our 72-lb canoe which we loved but became more difficult for Shannon with her neck issues. That's why we went to 40-lb kayaks. This new canoe is a light-weight one...under 35 lbs so we are very excited to give it a whirl. We also have used and are now selling our TuckTec kayaks which are folding heavy-duty plastic ones. We had them for their portability. Their website says the 10-ft ones weigh 12 lbs. That might be for you...here's the link to their website: foldupkayaks.com/products/2024-basic-colors
@@HikingWithKathleen You are awesome, you know that? Thank you so very much for your time and sharing your knowledge. I will check out the link. Have fun in the wilderness this week! Can't wait for next week!
Bonjour Kathleen. Mon français est comme le vôtre... juste un peu :) Grande vidéo!
Richard, what a delight, reading your response en francais, complete with the accents on the "c" and "o". Good for you! Glad you enjoyed the video...and my French!
Anyone else come here after pride? 🎉😂
