After watching this, I tried out the method you used for your thumb, using all Beetles brand gels and some no-name chrome off Amazon. I am so stinkin’ hard on my nails, but it’s been a WEEK and no sign of chrome chipping or wearing off! Thank you! 😊
@jennasaisquoi73 I have some chromes from Amazon that I love..do you mind sharing what beetles products you used so I can try as well please and thank you 💞
I honestly gave up on trying to make my chrome last so i really appreciate this video. The nails looked amazing, the two chromes looked beautiful together ✨⭐️
I loved this experiment! Thanks Mutsa ❤ It totally tracks with what we were talking about on IG with Nail Thoughts builder working well to seal chrome + non wipe top coat. I have a client who wants full chrome nails this weekend - I think I’m gunna try that method and pray to the chrome gods that it stays in tact. And I’ve also had the same issue with primer making power chrome glittery but some nail artists swear by it.
Yesss and literally after we spoke, two other people agreed that filing + builder + topcoat has worked better for them than a thick layer of the glossy topcoat 😅 I also did a set on my sister the weekend just gone and I’m testing whether a painted french tip on top of chrome means you don’t need to do the builder layer. Have you had any experience with that? Really hope it goes smoothly with your client this weekend 🤞🏾
I think the first hack is particularly useful when you notice patchiness. If you see it, rub the area (cuticle area in your case) with alcohol again and reapply. It should help a lot
Thanks for the tip! When I’ve removed chrome with alcohol in the past and tried to reapply it, it hasn’t worked. But that could be down to the topcoat I’m using
❤🎉NEW SUBSCRIBER HERE!🎉❤ I'm really enjoying your videos your really talented! I'm currently waiting for my holo cat eye polish to arrive so I'm binge watching your different tutorials! X
I can’t believe the peel off basecoat lasted 8 days! Are you hard on your hands? I sculpt my nails with gel every 2 weeks and would love to be able to switch my gel polish color more often. Can you do a tutorial on how you make peekable basecoat last?❤❤
@@memnailss Awesome! I can’t wait! My nails are flat so I do a rebalance to my overlay every 2 weeks but I would like to do a peel off basecoat for the gel color only to save time! Do you think a peel off basecoat with toenails would wear well also? I’m trying to save time on my nails and toes and be able to switch colors more often!
Question??? Is it possible to apply chrome to regular nail polish. I understand chrome needs something to stick to but I’m allergic to gel products and always wanted to chrome look. I’ve looked on UA-cam and no one has accomplished this
Hey! You can apply chrome to regular nail polish, but from what I've heard it's even more prone to chipping. Perhaps worth experimenting with it to see how well it works out for you ❤
I think people don't like the young nails gloss because it may require a thicker coat. Thin coats of hard top gel can shatter especially on thin or flexible nails. I love that top gloss over builder gel extensions and chrome it lasts for ages with no cracks.
You only need to let wipe-topcoats (topcoats that cure with a tacky layer) rest before cleansing them. If your no-wipe topcoat isn’t curing all the way glossy, then it might not be curing fully, which could be as a result of how the nails are sitting in the lamp, the lamp not being powerful enough and so on
Hey Mutsa! Quick question for you - I thought I remembered you making a video about cheap vs. expensive chromes. I wanted to link it in my next video but I'm not finding it. Did I dream this?? Lol
Hey Momo! I think you may have dreamt it 😅 I did compare a Magpie chrome to an AliExpress chrome on my Instagram stories yesterday. But that’s the only kind of chrome comparison I’ve done, I’m afraid 😇
I use a few different peel off base coats + I have naturally oily nail plates, so that’s why they just pop off without damage. I may do a quick video on it soon 🫶🏾

It can be a little draining, huh! So glad you liked the nails and the video. Thank you so much for watching ❤
Very lovely, it's a struggle with chrome well done❤
Crazy top is a no wipe thick top coat. Love the stars ⭐️

So I'm not really doing anything special 😅 But, I do have a video on peel off basecoats planned, so please keep an eye out for that ❤❤

First 💙🦋 love your videos!
Thank you!!
11:49 I think you might have switched up the combos for the pointer finger and the middle finger here
I sure did! Thank you for catching that 😅 I eventually went through them correctly at the end
builder really helps I think!
I absolutely love my liquid chrome! I have the ones from Madam Glam tho.
They get such mixed reviews! Glad you’re enjoying yours!
What do you use to take your nails off that easy please???

For sure! It would take a while to work in layers so it would likely be a thicker coat, which wouldn’t be ideal for natural nails
Didn’t know you need to let topcoat rest! That explains why some nails don’t come out shiny for me!

@@memnailss oh no! Well, fake news in my most recent video. I wonder who I was thinking of! 😬 thanks for the response 😁
Can you please link or film how you remove your tips so easily and quickly?

@@memnailss I would appreciate that so much. Also, please include what peel off bases you're using. I would like to see it these will work for me.
