I forgot to mention in the video that Tanya's forward 4 and neutral 4 are both launchers and very good anti-air buttons as well as her back 2. Use these when your opponent is too close to be hit by back 2. Also, Tanya's Heavenly Hand special (her projectile) when enhanced also eats other projectiles. Also also, you can special cancel 2, 1+2 into fatal blow and it works. Otherwise, I hope this video helps :)
@CrystalMang0 I've tried them. He does it the best. Because alot of her combos come from the kameo popping the opponent in to the air after her string or special. Freezing or staggering them can't do that
@@Jl3eHave you tried Scorpion? I prefer to use him with Tanya. You get an overhead you can combo off of, some really nice combo extensions, and can pull yourself back to full screen and escape I haven't used Goro yet, but I know he can make Tanya safe with his kameo ambush
@@FilipinoNinja67 ive been labbing scorpion and those combos are more damaging but takes more execution than goro and with execution being a factor with pretty much every kameo besides sonya it makes goro the best pick for her. at least for the kasuals. sub ad frost are also really good for her but you have to really open your opponent up with the freeze kameos
Hey man just gotta tell you... I was looking for a breakdown of Tanya in depth and first I found one on dashfight with VGyo and I was Hella disappointed. It didn't really tell me anything about the character or even half.of what you put in your breakdown. So thanks. This was very informative 👏 and appreciated
I have been loving her gameplay. She feels like a fair version of mk11 jade with a lil bit of rushdown too. She feels incomplete unless you use goro for kameo though bc he remedies her safety issues and gives her meterless combos & block pressure. I can't stop playing mileena and Tanya!
mk11 was my first mk and i mained Kollector so Tanya is the closest character to him imo. she's def better than kollector tho. she doesnt need buffs or nerfs but if she got even one buff she's def top 5
Ive been absolutely loving Tanya. I wasnt sure how to use her parry, so thus vudeo was VERY helpful, thank you! Only thing i dont understand, is how do you make the parry do damage once guidance is fully charged? Btw, Lao kameo works decently well with her for oressure and combos. Thanks for the awesome video!
So, I’m a little unsure of the question but I’ll answer to the best of my ability! If you’re referring to Deity Push and Umgadi Evade, you don’t need guidance to do those. Deity Push happens after a successful parry if you hold back 3, and Umgadi Evade happens if you hold forward 3. If you’re talking about punishing with a string then that’s something you will probably have to figure out, as it’s not guaranteed that you’ll be able to go right into a combo after a parry depending on your opponent’s frames. Though Deity Push is guaranteed no matter what from a parry (at least from what I’ve learned). I hope this answers your question!
It could be because of the side switch, so basically input drill kicks after Tanya has moved the opponent to the other side (or you can input it at the start of the throw so she should cancel into it as well). If this helps or doesn't let me know!
Input the slide/spin kicks after you've switched sides. The timing can be a little weird at first, but once you get it down, you'll never miss it again.
Ty for this pls dont delete this video ever I need it lol. But how is Tanya a zoner? She just has her neutral projectile which EX’ing eats opposing projectiles amd her air downward projectile which are great for a basic character’s zoning toolset but idk if that entirely makes her a zoner. I thought she was more a footsies and balanced fighter.
Yeah my bad, I should’ve cleared up what I meant when I called her a zoner. She’s not a full on zoner where you shoot projectiles at people, more so you check/zone at mid screen with neutral 3 and and sweep. But yeah, she is definitely more of what you described her as. Thanks for checking out my vid! :)
Great video and very informative. Do you have any tips on how to use Cyrax with Tanya? I haven't found much use other than using the spin assist as a block/chip string after f+2, 1, 1 etc
That's my problem. I can't find a consistent way to launch off her drill kick like goro or scorpion can. All that he gives is good block pressure and setups ig.
@@ciciad2010Yeah, I was using Cyrax as an example for block string setups, but Goro is a better Kameo if your looking to consistently use drill kicks outside of hit confirming into them.
So Cyrax was an example I was using for block string setups in this video, and as others have pointed out, Goro works better with Tanya because of his throw. Otherwise Cyrax is really only good for setting up guidance and getting a little bit more damage out of combos (like using him after F3, 4, 4 to get a combo).
Does anyone find her 2,1+3 string inconsistent with its special cancel? Outside of combos you can dial it in but using it mid combo I can never get the cancel.
The string you’re referring to is 2, 1+3 and it’s a special cancellable string. This means if you input drill kicks (back forward 4) while the throw is happening Tanya will do it. If you’re having issues with getting the special cancel to come out, you can try to input drill kicks after Tanya has moved the opponent to the other side.

Tanya Mains United 🤟🏿 good guide
Goro is her best cameo hands down. He can start and extend combos for her really well. Especially with his grab throw if they keep crouch blocking.
That's debatable since many kameos can extend combos for her differently.

He doesn’t come back fast enough for me. I used to use him kitana and he’s great with her but he takes too long to come back.
Nice guide. Note that if she has her guidance buff active you can combo off her standing 3 into teleport jump 1. Very useful
Very true and very helpful! Thanks for adding that!
This is one of the best guides I have watched so far. I’m itching to go back home and try the combos

It's a shame Kollector isn't in this game as a playable character. He was my favorite out of the new characters that came in that roster.

Stand 3 is very useful for using before fireball which can help control the neutral

B2 4 does not have a gap, so it's almost like a double knowledge check for opponents who are aware of the B2 3 gap

The b23 is good very far away. The end of the string goes VERY FAR. So you can catch folks off guard with the overhead at that range
Guys I don't understand what buttons should press for the two options after parry. The one for the attack and the other for the teleport
Tanya air fireball definitely is not average. It goes downward and can stun.
Does anyone find her 2,1+3 string inconsistent with its special cancel? Outside of combos you can dial it in but using it mid combo I can never get the cancel.
You have to be really consistent with your inputs
Not really. While she’s swinging the enemy to the other side is when you input the special move and it’ll queue then play after the slam finishes
I'm practicing Tanya and I have the same issue with that I don't get the right timing 😭 any advice?
Who do you go directly into the slide after the wrap around the neck throw ?
