I hear ya, It was awesome to see Atmos start at the 7th street entry back in the 90's. Then fill the target center at the 25th anniversary. Built this movement from the ground up, and its awesome.
Same, been a supporter since 2005. AES holds a huge place in my mental space
If I'm being honest I personally prefer the way Slug used to rap like late 90s early 2000s of course I realize hes not in that same headspace anymore that was 20 years ago. But Aes imo just keeps getting better and better he changes his style and voice and flow up on like every single album (or even almost every single) nowadays which keeps him super interesting to me. And then of course DOOM is a legend.

I don’t believe in having the lame “Goat” conversation but Aesop to me has to be in it or will be when all is said and done. One of my few rap heros that is still slaying. Will always love Slug but his concepts to me are way shallower and his rhymes are far more basic now compared to the Deep Puddle Dynamics days. Obviously Doom is Doom.
Lets rejoice in fact that we get to hear them all together one more time.

I absolutely support putting rap legends like Rakim, Pac and Biggie on a pedestal, but for me even they can't compete with DOOM. His rhymes, flow, intonation and voice are just beyond perfection.

Not only was DOOM's last verse one where he switched his flow marvelously, but he says "No he's not dead yet," several days before passing (Slug got the verse in October). Idk man this one was special. Still hope his wife and fam are maintaining man.
Yeah I hate to say it but it sounds like he knew his time was coming soon. Probably a well known condition he suffered from. He had a similar line on the new CZARFACE album, "Wonderin', "Is this the end?" Good question, you know who" Not to mention his voice sounds pretty different on all these new tracks coming out.
