I can't think of two better wingers in one World Cup finals team since Lato and Gadocha. They terrorised defences who weren't used to fast old fashioned wingers.
Just watching Poland v France 2022 and thought of him. It's 50 years ago but I remembered his name, and how good he was. The game is a pale shadow of what it was.
Gadocha was much more gifted in terms of skill from Grzegorz Lato and was a very different type of winger. He dropped back to work in midfield, he attacked down either wing, he helped to set up attacks from midfield and also made runs down the left wing where he was able to dribble himself into dangerous positions.
Boże, jaki to był drybler!!! Szybki, zwinny, waleczny, dobry technicznie. Prawdziwy Wojownik.
I forgot Poland had this guy. I only knew from printed media back in 70s which mentioned more of Gregorsz Lato, Andrzej Scharmack, Kazimiers Deyna and Jan Tomaszewski. I didn't know he was that good.
Gadocha was considered one of the best wingers in the world. he was a very attacking and fast midfielder. His world championship was simply outstanding.
Robert Gadocha was the best left winger of the world cup 1974. And the man of the match against West Germany in Frankfurt. Unfortunately he did not score any goal in that tournament. And the goal he scored in this video against Haiti was disallowed. In spite of being a great goal. But he assisted his team-mates too much in all the games.

He was probably the best winger of those years in the world. After the World Cup 74, an envoy of Real Madrid came to Poland and wanted to buy Gadocha for $ 2 million. It was big money then. FC Barcelona paid then $ 1 million for Johan Cryuyf. Unfortunately, the Polish communist authorities did not allow this transfer

I love wingers for to me they are the most creative players but Gadocha, although he has some cute moves at time, does everything on the run with Turbo no scheming...he runs with his head down and goes.....He couldn't shine the shoes of a Dzajic of Yugoslavia , a Keizer of Ajax, of Garrincha, Best, Jimmy Johnstone, Rensenbrink, Rep, David Ginola...Poland had some good players, Deyna, Lato, Boniek, but wingers, not so....

Real chciał go kupic za gigantyczne wtedy pieniądze
Porque o Real não comprou o Gadocha naquela época?

Underrated player!
ONE OF MY IDOLS WITRH BONIEK.
If Gadocha had scored against Yugoslavia it would have been like the goal of maradona against England 1986 , and may be quicker
Thank you for preserving these memories

Najlepszy drybler w historii polskiej piłki nożnej.

Easily as good as them.
Only slower players need to 'scheme'
