I remember when Holyfield got hit by Big George. He did a 360 in the ring but he didn't go down. But George hit him so hard that it spun him completely around. I wouldn't want to get hit by Mike Tyson or George Foreman.
I know exactly the moment you're talking about. Holyfield wasn't hit clean, or I guarantee he would have gone down. What happened there is, George would often vary the force behind is punches, both to conserve energy and to lull opponents into being defensively complacent, hoping at some point they'll get lax and vary the tightness of their defense. Foreman saw a opening and went in with a full force punch, but either his timing was off, wasn't fast enough, or just misjudged the opportunity and Holyfield parried it with a "chicken wing" kind of block. But because Foreman put everything he had on that one it spun Holy clean around when it hit him just above the elbow. That's the kind of punch that if delivered bare knuckle might either break Foreman's hand or render Holyfield's arm useless.
@@hadronoftheseus8829 Holyfield went into this fight super light, you can see George unable to get his timing for his 1-2, because Holyfield's head kept snapping back too far.
Tyson had the quickness with punching power but you are talking Foreman at 6'4 a bigger body vs. 5'10 Tyson imagine Tyson being 6'4 frame with that devastating quickness, go back and watch how quick Tyson was with those punches, wow
Nah Tyson's shortness is what gave him that explosiveness in both his strength and his speed. He would have to pack on a lot more muscle in a 6'4 frame to equal what he could do in his 5'10 frame and even then he might still not be as agile. Mike was like a shotgun slug, once he started going, there was no stopping him unless you were hard as nails and you'd still get fucked up in the process.

Michael Moorer was a fool to even give Big Slow George a chance after getting so far ahead on points. Even at that age Big George's power was the best in the division. Holyfield was smart he stayed away from George and got the W. No need to stroke the ego.
I don't think Moorer intentionally gave him a chance. Even at George's age, he still retained a solid chin. Moorer gave it all he had and ran out of steam, but he didn't realize til too late that he wasn't really damaging Foreman. By the last few rounds, Moorer looked extremely tired. I think Foreman's punches did a lot more damage than meets the eye.
Foreman and Shaver at heavyweight were it, no one else even comes close. Except maybe Ron Lyle, everybody said he had murderous power too. Tyson wasn't nearly that kind of natural power puncher, he busted his ass in the gym and developed the style he did to stop guys. He was all speed, leverage, timing, and combination punches. Absolute machine in his prime though Tyson, just a stud athlete and physical specimen. That counter right cross he'd time guys moving into and the vicious body shot and uppercut combos were something else too!
@@Hello_combat_sports_fans 🙄 Tyson was a great fighter, a freak athlete, and a damn strong guy who certainly hit harder than most. No one debates that at all. What he wasn't was a guy with natural monstrous all time great punching power, especially with one shot. The film of his in-ring career speaks for itself. It isn't a knock on him or his accomplishments at all to say he didn't punch like Foreman, Shavers, or Lyle, it's objective fact. Hell, Wilder punches harder too, he's nowhere near the fighter or technical boxer Tyson was but he hits harder than him all damn day! If you are seriously going to argue otherwise I don't have the time or interest to engage further, because frankly speaking you are being a delusional dick riding fanboy. Again, Tyson is a truly great talent and one of the most culturally and historically significant fighters in the history of boxing in general and the heavyweight division in particular, but to act like he was an all time great puncher in terms purely of punching power is patently ridiculous. His game at his best was always about using his athleticism and more importantly footwork to cut off the ring and create an opportunity to hurt and/or stun the opponent with a punch they didn't see coming and preferably were moving into to boot and from there overwhelming and stopping them with relentless pressure and hard, fast, punching combinations. Just because he was a crazy explosive athlete and a ruthless finisher doesn't mean he was a top tier big puncher per se as well.
@@Hello_combat_sports_fansno he did develope himself. Prior to that he was fat and stocky. He tried fighting before and said he always got beat up, whole reason he went into the gym smh
He didnt fight either one in his prime. That being said Tyson in his prime would knock ppl out throwing combinations. George foreman could knock u out with one punch whether u saw it coming or not. Tyson was not big boned. No such thing. His build is compact. Most of his power came from his hips. Thats why he seldom threw a straight right. In fact the right cross wasn't even in his famous # scheme. Where he assigned a # to a punch and Kevin Rooney would call out combinations.
>Tyson was not big boned. No such thing. No such thing as big-boned? Are you daft? All you have to do is look at the difference in people's wrist sizes to see that some people have much thicker bones than other people. I would like to know how it would even be possible for everyone to have identical bone thickness. That would be like the most amazing coincidence in the history of the universe. In reality there is no such thing as a body part which is the same size on everyone, obviously.
Hips and legs, plus he had short reach which was great for hooks and upper cuts. What made Tyson special was his defense, especially his slipping and bob and weaving. That combined with his crazy speed for a heavyweight and his explosive power (and aura of intimidation) is why hes among the greats. Best ever? Nah, but certainly a legend.

@@marcbrunengraber3507 in his prime he wasn’t the greatest, greatest is quite subjective to what each boxer has accomplished, if we’re talking about greatest accomplishments then Ali or Joe Louis takes it, maybe Ali since he does have the best resume if any hw boxer, fighting the best of the best and winning 90% of them, and maybe Louis because he literally had the longest reign as the champion. My question is what accomplishment did Mike do? If you’re gonna say greatest KO’s, then no that would be Deontay Wilder, Shavers, Sonny Liston, or George Foreman. I like Mike but he ain’t the greatest, he COULD of been the greatest but when we are talking about reality and not “coulda or woulda” then no he ain’t the greatest. Idk how people think he could knock any boxer out when prior to Don King failed to permanently KO Tucker, Tillis, Green, and Bonecrusher.
Holyfield was easier to hit and lacked Frazier's power, which has been forgotten over time. Frazier had tremendous power, which he carried through all 15 rounds. He and Holyfield had the same number of KOs, but Frazier got his 27 KOs in 37 fights, 5 of the fights being against Ali and Foreman, neither of which were ever KO'd, unless you count the Holmes TKO. He also floored Ali in the 14th round and Ali hardly ever got knocked down. Foreman and Ali were also the only ones to beat Frazier.
Marc Robertson yeah exactly.. When it comes to power between foreman vs Tyson, big George was physically stronger and have the heavier hands.. But mike was far quicker and explosive!!! Basically, they come from the same Galaxy, just different planets!

I watched Evander beat Qawi( Braxton at the time) Qawi was just a smaller version of Tyson and that’s why I bet my life savings that he’d beat Tyson. Styles make fights. Thank you Evander. Holyfield is one of the greatest boxers of all time.
Evanders headbutts were fuckin mean. He head butted Tyson so much, split his face, blood running into Tyson's face keeps head butting him time after time after time after time and hardly any points were taken away from holyfield for it. Two different fights same outcome and Tyson was pissed off and it showed when him pointing out to the ref the headbutts and it landed on "deaf ears".
I've never seen him headbutt intentionally, he just fought with his chin tucked low and sometimes when people came in they would bump heads. Tyson even said after the first fight that the headbutts weren't intentional. The second fight Holyfield was already dominating him early and Tyson just wanted to get the fuck out of there, the headbutt was just an excuse.
Tyson was washed up already in that fight. Holyfield wouldn't of had a chance vs Tyson in the 80's or even the post Douglas Tyson before he went to prison. The Tyson that KO'd Spinks wipes the floor with any version of Holyfield.
I personally think Foreman was the harder hitter. That's alot of weight and torque being delivered through his fist. But Tyson combined speed AND power. That's why he was good with long combos.
perfect comparison lol. Tyson had the speed and explosiveness for combinations while George had that slow but powerful 1 hit and you get sent flying ability.
Holyfield is the only top heavyweight of that era who had the balls to go up against Big George. The others all avoided him. Tyson, Lewis, Bowe- all scared of the old man's power. Michael Moorer 'was the only other champ to fight him.
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, hit as hard as the Foreman of the 1970s. He had the speed and the timing, coupled with a sledgehammer JAB. People were made nearly comatose with a jab. Tyson would have fared no better than "Smokin' Joe."
Holyfield has contradicted himself. In other videos, he said that George Foreman was definitely the hardest puncher he ever faced. Now, here, he is backtracking. And in a long-ago issue of GQ magazine, prior to Holyfield fighting Lewis, Holyfield (in the article) stated that Riddick Bowe was the hardest puncher he ever faced........And not long after Holyfield fought Foreman, he stated that Michael Dokes actually hit him harder than Foreman did (alluding to Dokes' speed enabling Dokes to hit Holyfield with faster, sharper punches)..........So, a lot of what he says is all over the place.
He's not contradicting himself, they asked him a specific question: Who hit harder, Foreman or Tyson? They didn't ask him about anyone else. On a side note, the poor guy took so many shots to the head he's starting to become incoherent. Sad.
wrinkleneckbass ...You're absolutely right! The Real Deal answered the question. He said George Foreman!!! So, Tyson fans, you all need to stop making excuses for Tyson and just pay attention.

Tysons speed helped with a lot of his knock out finishes. George didn't have quick hands. I think it's obvious George hit with more power. But everyone knows speed kills. It's always more effective if you don't see it coming. unless your big George it really doesn't matter.
Holyfield was and is my hero. No one trains so hard and long like him. And noone had such a long time being so successful like him! A fan from Hamburg Deutschland
Tyson wasn't overrated. People just didn't understand his game. He didn't actually blow people away with raw power like Foreman did, although he did have plenty of power. No, with Tyson it was the whole package. At his best, he had incredible defense, perhaps only surpassed by Ali himself. Tyson would slip a punch, close the distance and unload a blistering fast combo with top shelf power and precision. So while there were a number of people, like Foreman or Shavers, who hit harder than Tyson none of them combined that power with premium footwork, defense, handspeed, accuracy and aggression. Really, the only thing Tyson lacked was size but his short stature often worked to his advantage. The reason Tyson went downhill so fast was twofold. His father figure, Cus D'Amato died and then Don King got in his head. King conviced him to fire Kevin Rooney, the guy who trained Tyson and kept his technical skills are their peak. Tyson started trying to fight like a Foreman or Shavers, thinking he could just overpower people. The second reason is that Tyson was a speed guy. As you age, speed is the first thing you lose. So, as Tyson lost his speed and elite skills over the course of a few years, he quickly became mortal.
the way holyfield , tyson fought opponents are not the league now. mad respect for both tough nuts. c' mon look at 'em perhaps taller but the old school was savage and pure power .
B4PH0M3T no he didn't. Tyson claims he couldn't remember anything past the sixth round in their first meeting due to headbutting, and bit Holyfield the second meeting after an early headbutt caused a serious cut. Holyfield was scared if anything and needed insurance. Cheater.
Tyson was the one who always ran in head first. He just ran up on a top heavyweight who wasn't scared or past his prime, and got dominated. Evander was the REAL DEAL!!!
Let's take into consideration that Foreman was 250-260 pounds monster vs 215-220 pounds Tyson. So yes, Foreman probably had the heaviest hand. Yet Tyson speed was out of this world in his prime. I think that proportionally Tyson punches was more powerful. Tyson with Foreman size would had been a Licensed Assassin. We should take into account that Holyfield had one of the best chin of all time.
It depend on how the punch landed. If its merely based on fight result, Bowe technically hardest hitter in Holyfield's career. He was stopped in the third fight and was knocked down in first fight. Foreman and Holyfield went 12 round against someone like Stewart while Tyson knocked that guy out in a mere few secs.
Ali has the speed out of this world. Tyson is not even fast compared to ali. And George is the strongest boxer. he knock out fraizer, shaver lyle, norton etc. Yet he was knock out by a cerebral boxer- Ali. If Ali and tyson had meet the punch of tyson will not work because Ali is a boxer not a slugger like tyson and boxer usually wins.
Who told you Foreman was 250 or 260??? You have internet so you can check facts before you say something stupid. Foreman in his prime was 216-218lbs. Tyson usually 1 lbs heavier
dosdadio siapa Bad comparison. Ali met foreman in his very prime. 24 years of age Foreman was. Ali on the other hand wasn't the same Ali of 1966/1967. Tyson under a very guidance would given a match to Foreman for the simple reason that Foreman's defense was shocking. All the punches he swallowed early on against Frazier in 72 , Had it be Tyson he(Big George) would have been Knocked out within the first round.
Sean Crawford power vs power" foreman was physically stronger and have the heavier hands.. But mike is far quicker and more explosive!!! Power wise= they come from the same Galaxy.. Just different planets!
Watch Foreman chopping away at the heavybag that even lifts the trainer's feet off of the floor, and watch Tyson banging quickly at the heavybag. The first hits with an axe, and the second hits with hands.
Tyson, just out of his twenties, hit Holyfield with everything he had and the man came back at him and stopped him. They always said that the last thing a fighter loses is his punch. Foreman in his forties hit Holyfield with one good one, and he's still talking about it being the hardest shot he ever took. That's what I call definitive evidence. I'm going to say this for the last time. All you Tyson fanatics ought to wake up and smell the coffee. Tyson 's career was built on hype, hype to the nth degree. He never properly developed as a fighter and an old unprepared Holmes was the only great name he ever beat. His victims weren't so much Has Beens as Never Wassers, journeyman, part time fighters, the kind anyone with a spark of talent can look spectacular against. Note that when he was supposed to be untouchable in the late eighties, so the unstable and deluded aka his fans tell us, Smith and Tucker took him the distance, and they hardly lit up the division. In a funny way, what happened to Tyson was similar to the movie The Harder They Fall, based on Carnera: the money men jumped on a kid, made oodles, and then left him to the sharks. The "Baddest man on the planet" became the poorest and loneliest. Well, I suppose he'll always have the blind adoration of you Tyson-bitches with your pathetic bleating, "the greatest ever! ..when Cus was alive....when Rooney trained him...before King messed him up..." Put a sock in it.
Are all Tysonatics permanently on crack? "yes the opinion of Tyson knocking out Ali is not supportable" you say, then you go off on one. You're all like religious fanatics worshipping your God Tyson; there's no rationality, no sense ultimately in what you say. At the end of the day it all boils down to what ifs, and if onlys and shoulda couldas. The facts are the highest ranked fighter he beat was an old, poorly prepared Holmes. he had one style of fighting that was exposed against every decent. and eventually not so decent, fighter he met. it was hype from the beginning, good for TV, with Tyson setting about some poor mug, like a shark attack. Instant violent gratification for the masses. It's sad, that cretins cannot see it for what it was and instead call him the Greatest.
I don't think it's possible to say someone was the greatest ever, but Tyson 86-88 was one of the most exciting & dynamic heavyweights in memory. He had speed, movement, punching power etc. The fact that he deteriorated significantly due to a variety of factors counts against him in terms of GOAT arguments. I suspect he would find it awkward against particularly tall guys like an Anthony Joshua, Lennox Lewis or a Klitschko (eg. see the Tony Tucker fight). I wish he'd had a chance to fight a motivated Tim Witherspoon in 87, that would have been a better test than Bonecrusher Smith who resorted to clinching to go the distance.
Watch D'Amato's interview where he talks about the 16yr old prodigy Tyson as being the next Ali even before Tyson had turned pro. To all those youtube poster's questioning Tyson's legacy, the answer is you don't know about boxing as much as D'Amato. There had to be something special in Tyson for D'Amato to speaking about a 16yrd old kid in the same breath as Ali.

I would pick tyson by decision. Mike has an iron chin, ruddock hit him.with his best punch which was the smashing left uppercut/hook amd mike never went down.
80s boxer like razor ruddock and tony tucker are WAY underrated.

@@realitybites629 I do not think Tyson had the heart to go 12 or 15 rds with foreman, Ali or Frazier so he would have to get them early...George had a big height and reach advantage over Tyson. Tyson was not willing to risk his life or brain to win, Ali and Frasier were esp vs each other. ...as a Celtic fan I heard Kevin McHale talk about will over skill when u are down 9 in 3q, I think same gos for boxing too. Foreman would stand their and slug for 12 rds , it seems like after prison Mike did not want to do that and did not really have to in his prime....they did not want to face each other but I have no doubt george would've for 50m. Holyfield such a total BADAZZ and super nice warrior . Total class
I remember when Holyfield got hit by Big George. He did a 360 in the ring but he didn't go down. But George hit him so hard that it spun him completely around. I wouldn't want to get hit by Mike Tyson or George Foreman.
Foreman could KNOCK! 👊

Tyson was stronger
If Tyson could be 6.4 he wouldn't be so fast.

What about Marciano? He almost killed Vingo in the ring.
Tyson didn't develop himself in gym he was too powerful naturally if you don't know about something then without taking knowledge don't say anything 💩

Tyson didn't beat Holyfield at Amateur.
William Sullivan Tyson had one punch power all day
>Tyson was not big boned.

Thats what happens when you get punched in the head for so many years....Bibble babble doooty dittyfoo fuh
Yes, but for this video, they asked him who hit harder between Tyson and Foreman.
He's not contradicting himself, they asked him a specific question: Who hit harder, Foreman or Tyson? They didn't ask him about anyone else. On a side note, the poor guy took so many shots to the head he's starting to become incoherent. Sad.

Tysons speed helped with a lot of his knock out finishes. George didn't have quick hands. I think it's obvious George hit with more power. But everyone knows speed kills. It's always more effective if you don't see it coming. unless your big George it really doesn't matter.
Foreman's opponents used to say that his jab landed with the power of most boxers right cross.

Foreman handled Holyfield better than Tyson. Facts.
I didn’t understand a single word he said in the first 30 seconds
Holyfield was and is my hero. No one trains so hard and long like him. And noone had such a long time being so successful like him! A fan from Hamburg Deutschland
Mike was a great technician, a precise, fast puncher.
But if its about who hits the hardest, Foreman could have knocked an elephant out with one shot.
he's a delight. Good natured fella. Foreman? Holyfield? both. first class.
Tyson overrated bullshit he's a legend
Well hell then, throw Floyd in there with Prime Tyson.
the way holyfield , tyson fought opponents are not the league now. mad respect for both tough nuts. c' mon look at 'em perhaps taller but the old school was savage and pure power .

George Foreman hit me one time and I've never talked right again
All the punches he swallowed early on against Frazier in 72 , Had it be Tyson he(Big George) would have been Knocked out within the first round.
dosdadio siapa And for your Information, Shavers and Foreman never fought. Foreman was scared of shavers biggg time.
Lmao😂😂Holyfield said when somebody tells you..."you are alright real quick"....you might not be alright
Holyfield wasn't know for slipping punches.. God Bless him.. All I heard was he lost 15 lbs trying to keep somebody off him.. SMDH..
always liked evander very humble champ-i remember dwight braxton b4 his name change
big George obviously has a bigger punch.
Sean Crawford power vs power" foreman was physically stronger and have the heavier hands.. But mike is far quicker and more explosive!!! Power wise= they come from the same Galaxy.. Just different planets!
I have never seen it put so nicely. Well done.
Probably the nicest of any of the top heavyweights ever...but still all WARRIOR. Much respect from me!
Iron Mike.
Mike had that snap that put your lights out quick
The man is country take it easy on his intellect. He is from Georgia lol He's southern no doubt. I understand him just fine and I'm from Texas. 😂
Well there you go, the typical Tyson fan. Completely unreasonable, as evidenced by that totally random and unsupportable last sentence.
Gev G lol!The debate is over.No what ifs, anymore.Tyson was destroyed, many times.
Holyfield vs Qawi 1 was a brilliant fight
Foreman and it is not close
