I always said "houseless" when I was living that life. It was by choice rather than the only choice. My wife had taken her own life and I couldn't stand the idea of being responsible for anyone else again. So it kept people away. I did lawn services around me and had the means. Just nor the desire. But yes, most of the folks I associated with would have appreciated his style rather than "bummin' it" or "homeless".

“I’m not used to people saying anything to help us” That’s so f**ken sad. This world is so damn cruel. She looked like she thought she was in trouble and you were going to yell at her when you first approached. The problem is not homeless PEOPLE, the problem is not having enough affordable housing for ppl and they have to suffer like this. Blame our corrupt incompetent government for that. And while you’re at it, blame the large universities as well, because a lot of current “student housing” were actually cheap apts specifically for homeless vets, but of course $14,000 in dorming costs are a lot more than what a low income person will be able to pay monthly. A lot of ppl are one late pymt or mistake away from being homeless.
Here in Canada a lot of the homeless people that we have to die in the winter. Most of them are disabled folks who cannot afford rent on their disability paychecks. And many are also seniors in the same position.
