I just finished Episode Thirteen, and agree with you 100%. I even thought the same thoughts: that I really liked the first 2/3, but then it fell apart trying to rehash House of Leaves. House of Leaves did it much better, so this was not an improvement on the theme The ending here didn't do anything for me but make me dislike Claire (whom I originally really liked), and left me frustrated that none of the original questions were resolved or even considered important for the finale.
Love your red eyeshadow🖤 also Boys in the valley was so good then disappointing when everyone and there mother turned evil I stopped reading then. blah…
I agree with you about Episode Thirteen and I haven't yet read Reformatory. However, I am the opposite of you on the others 😅 I haven't read Bird Box but I really enjoyed the movie (I can see not liking Malorie as a character). I DNFed Daphne. Did not like it. I also felt that The Hollow Places and House With Good Bones was just okay but liked What Moves the Dead (although I agree about the non-binary stuff). I loved Valley of the Boys! Lol
I have been watching quite a bit of booktube lately trying to find some good books to read this fall. Recently came across your channel and liked your videos. Thank you and keep up the good work.
This was great, I love these types of videos! I have started Boys in The Valley three times now, and put it down all three times. I just don't feel anything for the story or the characters, and there is something about the writing style that puts me off. I very much doubt I will give it a fourth chance. Such a shame, I had such high hopes after A child alone with strangers. I read Bird Box, but I honestly don't remember it... That paired with the fact that Incidents around the house was one of the worst reads of the year for me so far, I think I just need to give up on Malerman... Bummer!
BOYS IN THE VALLEY was awesome. It was my favorite read of 2023. I loved this book. Please, don’t listen to this lady. Get BOYS IN THE VALLEY and read it. You won’t be disappointed.
It’s crazy that I watched the first part yesterday and now your video popped up 😳
Few of the books you showed i have on my wishlist ans hoping to enjoy. Love your eyeshadow btw! 📚☕🦇😈👻💀🪦

Yup. I’ve read all of those and hated all of them, and also couldn’t believe the hype.

Couldn't stand Bird Box either. I have given up on Malerman 'cause I don't click with his writing style.
