    Also they engine he mentioned in the video is NOT an OS Spec 2! It's a bone stock Kyosho KE25SP 😐

    the NitroGang is here to support you bro. There is no question that modded engines are better, ofcourse they are better, it goes without saying that a skilled modder would create some gains in RPM one way or another. There are also way too many other variables for anybody to even claim that it's not true, maybe Tablot would claim that, maybe.. LOL. And we all agree the Kyosho KE25 is just a very average big-block motor, nothing exceptional, not bad, but nothing close to a good OS engine.

    • @NitroMike

      He claimed my LRP 32X lost to an OS Spec 2 even though you can clearly see and hear that it's the stock Kyosho engine 🤦 So far for the credibility of his "proof"

    I don't know if it's a common thing in the US, but here just Pro's use modified engines. Usually they buy them from a tuner, like Ielasi Tuned which are based on the Novarossi if I'm correct. But normal people like me, my friends that race in amateur and semi-pro buggy classes use completely stock engines, even used engines with 15 gallons to race. In Italy especially we don't have 600 euros to spend on a single engine, that's just absurd.

    • @ashermorales8276
      @ashermorales8276 2 роки тому

      Most people in the US use stock engines but they’re from the manufacturer’s race line of engines so they have all the bells and whistles of a modded engine. The os speed line has really aggressive timing numbers and reds s line comes with some factory tuning by Mario Rossi so they have more than enough power. I would like to try an ielasi tuned engine but it’s hard to get them in the us. Ryan Cavelieri (I definitely just butchered his last name) recently joined ielasi tune and has been doing pretty good with the DIRT R but it’s so damn expensive 😂

    I have a very good experience with engines in general I have training in 2 stroke 4 stroke engine my first 2 stroke engine that I modified in 2004 is a 1981 cr250r still works well the first nitro engine an enya .35 model 5224 I call it the Frankenstain mix of a os .35 wit enya crankchaft crankcase Modifying an engine so as to give it more rpm is not this simple This is not just a porting which makes a huge difference but a carburetor does much more change Sometimes just a bigger carburetor alone can do a lot more than change the internals.

    Getting an engine modded and broken-in by a pro for 50$.... definitely worth the price!! 120$..not for me.
    Being one of your active followers, i know that the LRP was not at his best in that video.
    Still, i don't think we can call this drama, Nitro stuff discussion, good to hear both opinions.

    Hey Mike, dont let the haters get ya down bro! I watched his video..... immediately i thought he has very little experience, and less knowledge ( apart from over paying for modifications, on this we all agree! )
    You make great vids, live chats etc with awesome content.....just keep on doing what you do bro!

  • @purpledonatello

    I don't expect that little race to show what the engine has to offer. If it was the same weight class, same buggy or truggy then yeah he has to talk trash, but in this case it isn't. Dude was just bashing so nothing serious has to be taken.

  • @ashermorales8276

    I’ve learned to modify engines myself but there’s no way I’d charge anywhere over $50 for a modification. Only reason I’d charge more than that would be if someone wanted a repinch or a bearing placement or something where material cost needs to be accounted for

    • @NitroMike
      @NitroMike  3 роки тому

      Exactly! I fully agree with him about this point that's not the argument we're having here!

  • @roeloftooms
    @roeloftooms 3 роки тому

    Well..... modding own engines is not that difficult, it takes more the dare than knowledge if you know how to do it. As most American people are patriotic several modifiers over there have all the US market and can speak dirty about modifiers outside the US. Although most modifiers know the main thing of 2-stroke is with the timings all of them show off with all kind of visual things because people only see what they want to see and the more impressive it looks the more it must be "modified". The few visible work I do do work for a better/smoother running engine, the power gain only comes from the changed timings.
    A few degree more cranktiming is not visible but will already do so much more than only all the visible work I know several modifiers only do. Even RWmods admitted in an interview he started with only some visual work and later focused on the timings.Polishing to make it all shiny makes the looks and the idea of a better modification because it is also done on real car engines but some modifiers here in Europe as I also do think different. Let it all rough because that creates vortexes and vortexes do give a better homogeneous mixture which does give a faster and stronger combustion.
    The knowledge you will get will start with measuring the timings of many engines you get in your hands. As someone who do some break in services I do get a lot of engines so I know what most brands use on timings from their slowest to their fastest models.
    Judging the work based on one video with a bad performance because the owner was stupid to use the wrong carburator sounds to me that guy probably have seen the other vids as anyone would check out a channel but did only use that one bad video to make his point. And yes, as patriotic many of his followers are he will be believed.

      Very true most people think the fangs is the most power increaser because they don't understand timing that's why some molders can rip you off if dont know what to look for! Well said

    • @ashermorales8276
      @ashermorales8276 3 роки тому

      I completely agree. I tried modifying the engine for my buggy and truggy (it’s a cheap engine that ran fairly good but I was curious and wanted to see what would happen) and I did the little fangs and turbo scoop things but the main thing I did was open up the crank timing that alone gave it more power. It’s gotten fairly worn now because of how much I play and I’m planning on adjusting some other timing related things to see how much more it affects the engine
