    Lyrics:
    She ain't got no money
    Her clothes are kinda funny
Her hair is kinda wild and free
Oh, but Love grows where my Rosemary goes
    And nobody knows like me
    She talks kinda lazy
And people say she she's crazy
    And her life's a mystery
Oh, but Love grows where my Rosemary goes
    And nobody knows, like me
There's something about her hand holding mine
    It's a feeling that's fine
    And I just gotta say
She's really got a magical spell
    And it's working so well
    That I can't get away
    I'm a lucky fella
And I've just got to tell her
    That I love her endlessly
Because Love grows where my Rosemary goes
    And nobody knows, like me
There's something about her hand holding mine
    It's a feeling that's fine
    And I just gotta say
She's really got a magical spell
    And it's working so well
    That I can't get away
    I'm a lucky fella
And I've just got to tell her
    That I love her endlessly
Because Love grows where my Rosemary goes
    And nobody knows like me
It keeps growing every place she's been
    And nobody knows like me
If you've met her, you'll never forget her
    And nobody knows like me

The lead singer Tony Burrows a session singer sang lead. He was the voice of several studio groups, including White Plains, The Pipkins, and Brotherhood Of Man, First Class ("Beach Baby") and the Flowerpot Men ("Let's Go To San Francisco"). He famously appeared on one Top of the Pops show three times in one night when three different groups.

John Carter said it's him singing on the record "Let's go to San Francisco" in 1967. Tony Burrows didn't record the original track. The vocals are by John Carter, not Tony. The TV singing was mimed to John Carter's recording.

This is probably one of the best pop song of its kind ever. You just can´t not like it. Its positivity gas goes in through your nostrils and into your system and your soul. You sympathise with this naive young man who´s crazy in love with a girl that might be crazy too (or not ?). The melody, the lead guitar...it´s all enchanted !. When i die i want to settle down in a world where you can hear "Love grows" on radio, at least once a day if you want to.

Edison Lighthouse - Love Grows Lyrics:
    She ain't got no money
    Her clothes are kinda funny
Her hair is kinda wild and free
    Oh but love grows
    Where my Rosemary goes
    And nobody knows like me
    She talks kinda lazy
And people say she, she's crazy
    And her life's a mystery
    Oh but love grows
    Where my Rosemary goes
    And nobody knows like me
    There's something about
    Her hand holding mine
    It's a feeling that's fine
    And I just gotta say
She's really got a magical spell
    And it's working so well
    That I can't get away
    I'm a lucky fella
And I've just got to tell her
    That I love her endlessly
    Oh but love grows
    Where my Rosemary goes
    And nobody knows like me
    There's something about
    Her hand holding mine
    It's a feeling that's fine
    And I just gotta say
She's really got a magical spell
    And it's working so well
    That I can't get away
    I'm a lucky fella
And I've just got to tell her
    That I love her endlessly
    Oh but love grows
    Where my Rosemary goes
    And nobody knows like me
    Oh but love grows
    Where my Rosemary goes
    And nobody knows like me

Looking at a cold clinical analysis of WWII, without the emotion, the British Army performed really badly. Very much a: stop, 'I've done my bit', have a brew, go souvenir hunting - with a quite high rate of surrender. A trade union (according to Antony Beevor) style atmosphere existed in the British Army in WWII which really stopped it performing very effectively. I suppose, who could blame them after what happened to their fathers in WWI. Max Hastings often rips into their battlefield performance in WWII. The RAF and Navy did somewhat better. Partly as they got a 'higher caliber' of recruit. Also, the majority of people did not serve in the military during WWII. Reserved professions were much more protected, and expanded, after the acute shortages experienced during WWI.

@@AttitudeCharter That's because the song was recorded by 'golden voice' session singer Tony Burrows in the studio with some session musicians who were never a real band. A touring band of completely different people was put together to cash in on the No.1 hit. Tony was never fond of gigging, preferring his lucrative studio work. He was the vocalist on 4 hit records, by 4 different groups, at the same time, without actually playing a live concert. The others were My Baby Loves Lovin' by White Plains, Gimme Dat Ding by the Pipkins, and United We Stand by the Brotherhood of Man. He was also singer on Let's Go to San Francisco by The Flower Pot Men (1967) and Beach Baby by First Class (1974).
