Hey Dr. Xolani, thank you for the video. Advice I have for those of your beginning to practice hoodoo would be, if you're not in a space where you can openly speak to your h. ancestors, try journaling. Write down what you want to say to them, trust me they'll listen.

Thank you. That's a wonderful idea because I'm not able to sit and speak comfortably with them like I use to. Thanks

The “question your faith” part just made me subscribe. It’s so important that we question why we believe things and if it is beneficial for EVERYONE in some form or another.

Thanks so much for simplifying things by saying a white tea light candle and a glass of water is enough. So helpful. *imagine me fervently planning to use 6 different pillar candles to cover all my basis*😂
It’s been a while since you’ve posted. I pray all is well with you and I hope you can come back soon.

How do you create an ancestor space when you know your family but you don’t have a genuine connection to them? Some of my older family members were a little abusive. Should I dedicate a space to them while I’m trying to break the cycle of abuse they caused?

it’s not really healthy to get on ur phone the first thing after waking up, it’s better if you write your dream on a piece of paper rather than record on your phone. Other than that I appreciate this video so thanks

Can only black people get into hoodoo, also how are Christianity and hoodoo connected? I’m a white Christian and have been doing a lot of research on hoodoo and these are just some questions I have.
Edit: nvm I watched your other video and my first question was answered

Someone's spirit doesn't have any color. So, of course anyone can practice almost all religions. BUT, if you want to practice hoodoo, are you sure you are a christian?? The Bible clearly prohibits withcraft.

I'm from rural Eastern North Carolina and grew up around these practices my entire life. Conjure & rootwork were in my family. I am White, and I can tell you White, Black, and Indian people ALL do the same kind of spiritual work in this area. I have a lot of Black & Lumbee relatives and what we do is basically all the same. I've never heard that White people can't practice conjure until like 10 years ago on the Internet. Trust me, down here White, Black, and Indian have practiced the same traditions of magic & folkways since they been mingling. I've personally known elderly White conjure doctors who'd never been on the Internet nor read a book on Hoodoo. I think more of a difference would be with class. Wealthy White folks living in town would probably be less likely to follow the old customs than poor White folks living in the country with people of color, for example.
As for Christianity, I've only known conjure & rootwork to be practiced within a Christian context. Prayers are offered in the name of the Trinity or Jesus, work is done with the Bible, etc. Some of the most powerful rootworkers I've met have been elders or deacons in the Church (Baptist, A.M.E., Pentecostal). It's very common around here for a spiritual worker to ask a potential client "Are you saved?", "Do you believe in the Bible?", etc. and to refuse the case if the person says "no". I've been told over & over that faith in God is the important thing about rootwork, and without that faith you can't be helped. My grandmother was a spiritual medium who could see & communicate with spirits and my uncle did conjure work... better not call them Pagan or Witches or tell them they weren't Christians! They were Free Will Baptist who loved Jesus!

@@NCrootsthis is incorrect. Hoodoo is Black American and it’s only taught to American descendants of slavery.

Why do you go by they /them. ? What does this mean? Are you a biological woman? Do you consider yourself a woman? Just asking if you don't mind answering

This is me answering so the creator can correct me if I am wrong but normally it means that you don’t identify as a woman or man so not she/her or he/him so you choose they/them

The ancestors are not going to allow you to break off the tree and stop the curses. You really need to focus on the meaning on man and woman

Hi I'm looking for a good Hoodoo rootworker to help me with a problem. I've been searching all over the Internet and will continue to do so until I find what I am looking for. If you could refer me to someone I'd appreciate it. Thanks
