Very helpful! I just started this medicine 3-4 weeks ago and it is really helping me where I had a problem - that is having one drink but not 5-6. It has really helped me with cravings, and I feel so much better in the morning. Hopefully full abstention will follow (along with weight loss).

Works for me, and takes away the craving and anxiety. I now drink once a week and it takes that desire away to get rolling drunk and binge.

Took the craving away for me completely. I don't drink at all.

Took my first dose last night, I was withdrawing from drinking the night before (and countless nights before that). I was expecting the sweats and the shakes throughout the night, but not the 30 minute panic attack I had! Was laying down to try and sleep and all of a sudden my thoughts/brain went 100 miles an hour in 100 different directions. Suddenly in my minds eye I saw all of these horrible images, demonic images, stuff out of a horror movie. I sat up in bed and kept my eyes open so I wouldn't see the images, but man I was having dark thoughts and anxiety through the roof! Almost called my doctor but refrained, after 30 minutes the feeling started to subside and after an hour I was back to just the sweats and shaking. I thought for a minute there I might have a seizure.
My doc told me not to taper off with this drug, I would highly recommend it! At least quit drinking a few days before trying it or reduce your intake to 1-2 drinks while taking it. Start with half a dose the first night. I will only be taking half tonight or will wait some time between taking 2 half doses. I'm really sick of alcohol being a hindrance on my life and my happiness and am ready for a change!

I had immediate relief from my craving on my first dose. How did it work for you?

@@Turd_Eating_Dog I'm happy to hear that! I did a recovery with electronic-stimulation (they attach a pod to your cheek which is attached to a battery, which should stimulate endrogene morphine production - endorphins). After which I took naltrexone, at most, for 1 month. (after that only on special occasion that reminded me of my addiction) It helped a lot with "my body shutting up", but my mind still carved for opiates, even tho, it was much, much less than it used to. I'm clean a year now on the day. Cheers! Hope you were successful too.

My PCP told me to just take it every day, whether you drink that day or not. Good luck. So far so good for me. And any side effects should go away soon (they did for me).

A clinician could correct me, but I think it works like Chantix for nicotine addiction. You can still use, but when you do it isn’t as pleasurable as it used to be. So over time you just kind of forget about the habit & put it down.
