Thanks for the review! I'm looking into keeping and breeding coleonyx brevis and possibly eurydactylodes agricoliae in the near future, and with so many different incubators on the market, it's nice to see another reptile keeper review different options and give advice on the best products.
Absolutely! The Eurys' don't really need an incubator unless your room is super cold. That's exciting hopefully it all works out! Feel free to ask any questions you might have.
Our only issue with it was the lack of space in the plastic egg containers that you buy separately to use inside the incubator. It would be better if there was more "head room" inside, especially if you're using the little rack inside the Exo Terra container. We ended up eventually using our own Rubbermaid containers and removing the rack from their own branded containers.
I'm in Australia. Hobby breeder. I have 1 breeding pair of carpet pythons and 1 breeding pair of spotted Pythons. Would you recommend this incubator for me?
Depends on the size of their clutches, we we able to fit about 3-4 clutches of hognose eggs in here. So with the appropriate sized egg bins you should be okay.
Do you poke holes in your containers to have the humidity flow in there? I'm seeing and hearing that you don't have to but I feel like that defeats the purpose of the humidifier. My geckos are about to lay eggs and I just bought this because either I didn't have enough humidity of the temp kept fluctuating. Please let me know how you had the containers so I can have their hatchlings this year 😊
One last question. I've done a 1 to 1 ratio of perlite and water with the one hole, but what should the humidity be set at? I've been seeing 30% all the way up to 85%. I just want to make sure these lil eggs and the babies are safe.
Please review if this also works for basilisk eggs. I keep trying to tape toads onto chicken eggs and it's not working Mike please that is my dream reptile
I’m thinking of getting this for ball python eggs. I would only need 2 clutches to fit at the most at a time. How do you think it’ll work for ball python eggs? Reliable?
Well when I took the incubator out of the box today for the fist time, I saw a piece of plastic, covering the heating elements and screwed onto the inner side of the lid, and nothing on the instructions over if that remains on.
Thanks for the review! I definitely love the convenience of this one for the hobby breeders. BTW I think you have said but how much does shipping average from Canada to the states?
I am planning on doing an american group order, with enough people it wouldn't be all that much more expensive than if you were shipping across the states. If you wanted to import on a solo order, for an entire box is 250USD but that could be filled with 10-20 animals.
Are they only meant to work for a single season? The fridge one failed on me the second breeding season I used it in. Went back to using basic styrofoam ones after that.
Do you still have Rah, the (Bradypodion Thamnobates)?! I was just wondering because he popped in my head! I remember giving you the suggestion for the name way back and I thought it was awesome that you picked it! If so how is he and the female doing?!
They unfortunately passed away nearly a year ago. Everyone in Canadas pretty much died in the same couple weeks. No idea why, or how but it really sucks. I look forward to the day when I am able to keep chameleons again.
@@MikeTytula I’m sorry to hear that man! Your collection/reptile room looks great right now! Once we get a house I’ll be able expand and have a dedicated room. I ran out of room in my apartment 😂 the housing market in the states is just crazy right now
@@jaexotics I think the housing market is crazy everywhere! I can't wait to have our own place in order to have a few other things. But thanks so much!
Sorry but I don't care what whistles and such it has, no way would I spend over 200 bucks on a Styrofoam incubator. I'll stick with my 50 buck one. I had a 99% hatch rate with it for over 10 years. Don't fix what's not broken. Now the stand up one they make I would think about if I still did Chameleons but I haven't bred Chameleons in going on 15 years now. But if I was to get back into Chameleons I would go with my dream species, Jacksons Chameleons and thankfully no incubator needed for them. The other species that I was breeding are Darts and Uroplatus phantasticus and again room temp is all that's needed, the room I had them housed in was hatching temp for the eggs.
@@MikeTytula Oh I know your not Mike. If I didn't have one and didn't have the time to mess around with a biscuit heater or worry about checking on the water level I would definitely look into one like this or if the room temp wasn't a constant temp, the ease of this one would be nice.
For such a small channel I do have to admit your editing skills are very good and to the point , good job keep it up !

Ya we found the same thing! They are great for our Strophurus eggs, but even some crested gecko eggs were too big haha.
I just got one for my Leopardgeckos ❤️🔥
Nice! Should perform well!

We typically have one airhole in the containers to allow the eggs to breath, and we open them semi-regularly (once a week-10 days).
@@MikeTytula thank you 😊

They are Good for chameleons? I brought it today. :)
It doesn’t cool, and most chameleon eggs require coolish temps and a diapause. So it could work, but just research their incubation
Please review if this also works for basilisk eggs.

Hi Ali
i have a question for you mike, can this incubater incubate bearded dragon eggs?
I have never bred beardies or tried to hatch their eggs. But I’m fairly certain this incubator could handle it
@@MikeTytula thanks
Do you use a special dirt or sand for your eggs? and do you add moisture to the dirt/sand or just let the humidifier do it's thing?
We use a variety of different things. Mostly perlite, vermiculite and pangea hatch
I’m thinking of getting this for ball python eggs. I would only need 2 clutches to fit at the most at a time. How do you think it’ll work for ball python eggs? Reliable?
Ball python eggs are pretty easy to incubate so this should do the trick.
Well when I took the incubator out of the box today for the fist time, I saw a piece of plastic, covering the heating elements and screwed onto the inner side of the lid, and nothing on the instructions over if that remains on.
That stays on, if I am picturing the right part.
Thanks for the review I’m breeding leopard geckos soon and really wanted to see what incubation system would be good for a beginner like me
This one is fantastic!!
@@MikeTytula I already ordered one ahead of time before I start breeding
@@kearstinnekenerson6676 That is a very wise idea!
Great info! Thanks mike!
Glad you enjoyed Karly!
Question for you can you address how you use the tubs in the incubator? What materials and do you have to add holes, lastly water content. Thanks
Maybe I'll make another video about it. But it really depends what media and such you are using. We still used vermiculite in the bottom of ours.
I'm hopefully going to have crested gecko eggs one day what incubator do you think is better the older exo terra or the new one?? Please help me
Honestly I wouldn't even bother with an incubator unless the temperatures in your house are super unstable.
@@MikeTytula yea it gets about 65 in my room at night so that is why I wanted to get one
ahhh then yes, I would recommend something like this for sure!
Great review video

Awesome vid. Any chance you can send the old incubator ? Haha you’ve made it big with the sponsors big shot
Send which incubator? lol it's a lot of hard work.
