The whole point of everyone using front engine is that it's seemingly a lot easier to control and more natural (possibly just flat out better). But I was told there was a technique needed for mid engine cars specifically that isn't needed as much for front engine.
This reminds me of something you'd see at a CARBOY drift event in the early 90's haha, they used to be pretty popular in Japan. It's sad that no one uses them anymore!
Wanting to see more MR2 vids! I just got a major interest in these cars There's not many vids on these cars, other than high hp drag racing. I currently have a e36, but I'm leaning hard on wanting to take on a Spyder project!!
You explained how the car drives in low grip scenarios perfectly. I drive a '87 MR2 in rallycross and it's hard to put into words how it feels. In 3 years of events I've only looped it once its not unmanageable. It is easy to not setup properly and just push losing time but when you get it right the car just dances on course

So all of the turns at our track are decel turns. So if you want to momentum drift you have to enter each turn very slow. Also in this video I am handbraking to extend the drift because I don’t have enough wheelspeed with the gearing/power combo
I'm building my aw11 right now to drift. How did you weld the diff? I'm putting a 3sgte in mine and a non lsd e153. Should I throw an LSD in the trans before I drop the car on the engine? So cool someone else is drifting an aw11

If I turbo it ill put on big brakes, but thanks for the video. If possible could you send me a link to the parts you got for it?
Do the c60 swap, it will help immensely even with the stock motor. LSD it too (The Kaaz is $1100)
Thanks for the upload! They are the best. A standard in the space. You are the car world's PewdiePie. Shreddy Kruger rebrand and call it a day. GGEZ
This guy is good, I just like to see guys that can drift without the hydraulic handbrake
Good luck on a go kart track... would be super whack driving without it.
20v 4age..insta like...initial D reference...take my money dude
god it sounds beautiful
Chelsea, forget all that formula D top level racing crap ... stay on UA-cam and make more videos for us!
formula d pays the bills
Nah it doesn’t pay bills it gives me the platform to do this stuff
The only times i've had the rear end come around unexpectedly was in the wet.
I have this AW11 as well, and in the wet it is really fun to see where the limits are. Let it break out a little bit.
@@roland9367 Last time I spun was at a track day and I let the clutch out too fast shifting down into 2nd and it locked up a rear wheel. Around town in the rain is lots of fun for sure.
@@cGreer20 Yes I used to do that on the track for a tight corner. Let the clutch go when turning in 2nd, so that the back kicks out and you van turn in faster.
I think it should also be a good way to start a drift. But if it's not raining, you hardly have enough power, or to much grip.
+1
I wonder if you could snap oversteer to your advantage
I will like to thank Chelsea for making AW11 MR2 more expensive... JK. Sweet Blacktop swap 4AGE man, never seen one drift.
I missed your videos man!
Does Chelsea know how to drift without a handbrake? (Just wondering) it doesn’t seem like he likes to use momentum to initiate a slide or transition
So all of the turns at our track are decel turns. So if you want to momentum drift you have to enter each turn very slow.
Also in this video I am handbraking to extend the drift because I don’t have enough wheelspeed with the gearing/power combo
Chelsea DeNofa I see, yea I guess PARC isn’t the best for that type of drifting
Wtf that was you
I have some pics of this at parc spring bash
That was sick you were keeping up with t28 sr's
Did you ever see the guy up North Course with the MRS looked like some craic.
I'm building my aw11 right now to drift. How did you weld the diff? I'm putting a 3sgte in mine and a non lsd e153. Should I throw an LSD in the trans before I drop the car on the engine? So cool someone else is drifting an aw11
Gotta split the case and weld the diff
Wait how did you get the coilovers on there? I've been doing a bunch of research and I can only find bc coilovers for 87-89, but that steering wheel is 85-86. The front top mounts are different and its really throwing me off.
Best aw11 video on UA-cam. How did you mod the angle?
hey chelsea! what would you do to make a e46 drift? is subframe reinforcement necessary? its a 5spd 2.5 sedan with coilovers, custom lsd, new suspension arms, and new cooling system. or would you rather save up and buy another e36 instead?
If you go through his "how to drift" series, he uses a bone stock E46 with the only mod being an adjustment to the factory hand brake to improve lock up.
Yea it’s important to reinforce the subframe for longevity
Si tu parlais français vraiment je crois que j'allais être un chef des DRIFT, vu que tu enseigne très bien. Merci
informative well presented fun video, how much was the purchase & additional upgrades & maintenance? thanks
The car with coilovers, 20V swap, steering angle, wheels, handbrake, and everything else you see is for sale for $4500
@@chelseadenofa
Seems fair, I almost bought one last weekend for twenty four hundred bucks and the seller was selling it for a neighbor and did not have the title, but I had the money in my pocket and was ready to go, slept on it and realized I do not need a two-seater as a father of four with a business that installs large tropical plants in interior spaces so good luck with your sale
What did you go with toe in rather than a positive camber in the rear?
that car flirted with you xDD it is beautiful car 😊
i want to build something similar to it, that flip car from fast & furious 6 that has also engine in mid of it, and i dont know how to handle it with shifter..? how did you or would you do it with engine + gearbox for front wheeler cars..?
