I didn't mention the name in the video, but it is in the description box. I'll leave the name here as well: Euxyl PE 9010. And yes, you are absolutely right, the aroma can be very overpowering. The butters in the video have almost no odor. I love it. I will try to do more deep conditioners that are not as complex. However, I promise this one is worth a try. 😊💜

But please if I can't get Manuka honey, kukui oil, honeyquat and buruti fruit oil, what are the best alternatives? Can I use the regular honey 🍯 we all know? What other alternatives are there to the other ones I mentioned?
Thank you so much for your kind words. You can use regular honey, but make sure it is beneficial. There is fake honey out there that is basically sugar/syrup. For the others, you can use any oil that works best for you. If you want a less "greasy" oil like the Kukui oil, you can use Grapeseed oil, almond oil, and others. For the color from Buriti fruit oil, you may be able to get something similar but not exact. Try turmeric essential oil, carrot oil, or sea buckthorn oil. Finally, you can use any deep penetrating conditioning agent or "quat" to substitute the honeyquat. There are numerous, so look up the one that works best for you. I truly hope this helps 💜
Hey Yaya! I was wondering, did you use 0.4% guarcat? I'm using that amount in my own deep conditioner but started to wonder if that may be too much for a DC, I read somewhere that too much of it can leave flakes on hair - please let me know if you don't mind :)

Hello Yaya, Your video presentations are simply wonderful!! You are so talented and smart in your craft. Do you have a background in chemistry? I Iove your work, If you don't mind me asking. I have a 2 part question. Do you know what actual ingredients are used to make the hair soft?? I've found that Carols Daughters Mimosa Hair Honey Pomade is the only product that really softens an actual keeps my hair soft. Since I consider you well versed an knowledgeable from watching your videos. Also, have you ever consider a diy scalp creme for women that suffer from Folliclettius of the scalp? I've experienced little scalp pimples. Ive always kept my scalp an combs clean. What I've noticed is that using certain heavy oils (castor) seen to make it worse. I'd truly appreciate your opinion on my questions. Stay blessed🌻 💛🌻
Thank you so much. I am happy you are enjoying the videos. I went to university for nutrition/health science. There was some chemistry in there lol. However, when it comes to cosmetics, I am self taught and still learning 😊💜 To answer the first part of your 2 part question. This can be a very complex question/answer. For one, everyone hair is different; from environment to nutrition to healthy hair care practices to genetics to damage, etc. What works for one, may not work for the other. With that in mind, soft hair can be achieved by properly cleansing, hydrating, and sealing in moisture. There are numerous ingredients that work together to do this. I will only name a few. Water: hydrate and softens Apple cider vinegar: cleanses and removes dirt, restores ph Honey: humectant to draw in moisture to hair Oil/butters: emollients to seal in moisture and provide a film/protective barrier to keep moisture in and dirt and humidity out. Conditioning agents like honeyquat with some enough molecules to penetrate and bond with the hair strands, making the strand soft and pulp. All of these play some role or another. These can work for your or against you depending on hair type and how you use them. To answer the 2nd part, I am actually working on some products for scalp irritations and aliments like scalp psoriasis. I also find that heavy oils cause irritation. I am currently working on oil-free DIY formulations to help with this. Stay tune for more information. I truly hope this helps. 💜

I am desperately trying to find a conditioner recipe that uses organic natural substances like the shae butter etc. And also how to really strip the recipe right back to basics whilst giving a high moisturising conditioner result.
Hey, I was wondering if you had a recipe for a shes butter and Manuka honey body butter. I wanted to make a body butter that was Shea based and still have the benefits of the honey as well.
May I ask why you didn’t use the natural alcohols in this one than in your other videos? Is it because you used Pathenol in this one. The alcohol are natural conditioners right? Do they help with the thickening? I know pathenol can be used for great slip but how do you know if your just using to much products? Can you use pathenol with the natural alcohol?
You can absolutely use them. I love fatty alcohols/emollients. For this particular DIY, I wanted the butters to do most of the work in this deep conditioner. So, I used GuarCat as a thickener during the water phase instead of Cetyl or Cetearyl alcohol. I hope this helps. 😊💜
Hi Yaya thanks for sharing amazing recipes. You are so kind. I have a request if that’s not too much for you. We live in country that uses grams and millilitres instead of oz. If you write up % next to each ingredient that would very helpful to memorise the ingredient % so that we can make it up to 100gms. Thank you so much.
I have never heard of or used Vegequat, but I don’t see why not. It seems as if it a vegetable based conditioning agent. Check the usage rate and definitely give it a try. I will also look into it and I may purchase some to test out for you all if you’d like. 💜
I thought I came here for the hair product.... but then I realized I was here for the science. This all looked like so much fun omg. I feel like a 7th grader 😂😂
Lol nice! It is actually very fun. The fun is in trial and error. Testing and tweaking until you get it just right. 👌🏽💜 I am glad you like the videos. Thank you for watching 😊
I believe it! I’ve always had an interest in this part of chemistry, but I always struggled with it on paper. I try not to beat myself up about it but this is certainly something I’d have pursued if I had stayed diligent and patient with myself. I enjoy and appreciate that I am learning while I watch your videos. If I could afford to maintain the supplies and tools, I’d invest in this. I absolutely love it, I’m happy to have found your channel. 💕💕
I have looked into a few, but I want to make sure they are truly worth the investment before I suggest them to you all. I will be sure to keep you all posted 😊💜
Christy thomas Very possible, but you may need other ingredients to make up for what you will be missing. Btms50 has amazing conditioning and stabilizing properties. It gives the product texture, body, and it works as a great emulsifier on its own. With a regular emulsifying wax, you may need a co-emulsifier and more conditioning ingredients and maybe fatty alcohols like Cetearyl alcohol to thicken the product. I hope this helps. 💜
MsTuffFluff I get this question a lot. I am located in Birmingham, Alabama but I am not currently taking clients. I literally have no time 😅. At the moment, I only do tree braids for my family and friends. I will keep you all posted if things change. Also, I will be doing more tutorials soon 💜
You are very welcome. There are no harsh ingredients in this deep conditioner. So, I believe it is perfectly safe to leave in. I hope this helps. 😊💜 Also, I do want to mention that there is raw Manuka honey in this deep conditioner, so you may want to wash it out or omit the Manuka honey to use it as a leave in.
Brianna Walcott If the oils will be introduced to water at anytime, I recommend using a preservative. If not, they usually can hold their own for awhile. If anything, oils are prone to oxidation. Use vitamin e to slow down this process. I hope this helps. 😊

Oh hello just subscribed to your channel and looking for something different for hair and skin , with less hard chemicals. I don't wear makeup and never have , maybe lipstick or lip gloss. Always rubbing my face and eyes. But I am comfortable with out makeup . Maybe you can help..
The one I used works well with anhydrous products so it should work fine for butters. Also, it works well with natural raw materials like aloe Vera juice, which can be difficult to preserve. I hope this helps. 💜
This is very true, but some ingredients/thickeners are designed to be dispersed easier without the use of glycerin. I mostly create a slurry when I am working with Xanthan gum. I hope this helps. 💜
Keep in mind that these butters are still organic. Refined does not always equate to chemicals or heat. Organic clays may also be used to mildly refine the butter. Hey, I was wondering if you had a recipe for a shes butter and Manuka honey body butter. I wanted to make a body butter that was Shea based and still have the benefits of the honey as well.
Have you ever tried making an edge control. (Strong ashell please)
Besides the vegetable glycerin can I use slipper elm or aloe Vera gel?
Can you do a video on laundry detergent? Keep up the great work
May I ask why you didn’t use the natural alcohols in this one than in your other videos?
Was the citric acid a powder or did you mix it with water for it to be a liquid?
I loved the video, could you please tell me where you buy the Guarcat, thank you
Thank you! I got mines from Lotioncrafters 💜
@@YayaDIYCreations ❤❤❤❤
What is another thickener you would recommend if i can’t get ahold of guar cat
hi! if i were to order your chebe butter creme on your website .. would you recommend that product for low porosity hair ?
I am interested in learning about adjusting the ph
Hi Yaya, can vegequart be used in place of honeyquat? Thank you
I have never heard of or used Vegequat, but I don’t see why not. It seems as if it a vegetable based conditioning agent. Check the usage rate and definitely give it a try. I will also look into it and I may purchase some to test out for you all if you’d like. 💜
@@YayaDIYCreations oh thank you, I'll try it out, and yes I'd be glad to see you give it a try🥰
So Yaya i noticed you didn't list where u got the Guarcut.
CAN YOU USE BTMS IN MOISTURIZING HAIR CREAMS OR JUST FOR HAIR CONDITIONERS
Yes, you can. They give a lovely texture and feel to creams.
Can you use this as a prepoo ?
Is that guarcat the same as guar gum powder?
I just love your videos sis! Keep growing!🥰
Thank you! I will do my best 😊💜
what are the percentages for each phase?
Approximately:
74.55% Water phase
24% Oil Phase
1.45% Cool Down Phase 💜
Can you recommend any books on how to make skin care with all the need to knows like emulsifying and etc ..
I have looked into a few, but I want to make sure they are truly worth the investment before I suggest them to you all. I will be sure to keep you all posted 😊💜
What can you buy guarcat I only see guar gum
hello, do I have to use BTMS 50? Can I use emulsifying wax?
Christy thomas Very possible, but you may need other ingredients to make up for what you will be missing. Btms50 has amazing conditioning and stabilizing properties. It gives the product texture, body, and it works as a great emulsifier on its own. With a regular emulsifying wax, you may need a co-emulsifier and more conditioning ingredients and maybe fatty alcohols like Cetearyl alcohol to thicken the product. I hope this helps. 💜
i'm interested in learning about how to measure ingredients.
Nice
can we replace the oil or do you have to use those specifically
You absolutely can. Different oils have different benefits, so you can pick which one works best for you. I hope this helps 💜
how do you set up your recordings?
I don't know if someone noticed but the % are wrong in the description box. 74% is the water phase not the oil one :)
YIKES! I will correct it now. Thank you for catching that! 😊💜
@@YayaDIYCreations No problem :)
@@crepusco9821 😊💜
What is the shelf life?
Hi where can I found guracat? Or can I substitute it with something else
jasmine harris Sorry that was a typo. I corrected it. It’s GuarCat and I usually get mines from Lotioncrafter. I hope this helps. 💜
Yaya thank so much I have a cart with them right now I’ll be adding this to it I truly appreciate you getting back to me so fast
Can you give us some recipe for the face cream made for wrinkles? But a little bit cheaper. ☺ ♥
Noted. I will keep that in mind 😊💜
What state are you in. I desperately want you to do my hair in tree 🌳 braids?
MsTuffFluff I get this question a lot. I am located in Birmingham, Alabama but I am not currently taking clients. I literally have no time 😅. At the moment, I only do tree braids for my family and friends. I will keep you all posted if things change. Also, I will be doing more tutorials soon 💜
@@YayaDIYCreations i understand!!!
Thanks for the video, please can this be live in?
You are very welcome. There are no harsh ingredients in this deep conditioner. So, I believe it is perfectly safe to leave in. I hope this helps. 😊💜
Also, I do want to mention that there is raw Manuka honey in this deep conditioner, so you may want to wash it out or omit the Manuka honey to use it as a leave in.
Yaya so manuka honey can’t be left in your hair?
Do you have to add preservative to oils?
Brianna Walcott If the oils will be introduced to water at anytime, I recommend using a preservative. If not, they usually can hold their own for awhile. If anything, oils are prone to oxidation. Use vitamin e to slow down this process. I hope this helps. 😊
Yaya yes it helps what preservatives do you recommend adding to oils
Where are your containers from?
Here are the links. However, the lid and jar did not come together. I hope this helps.

Buena pinta! Pero si traducción no hay remedio casero ni opción de compartir!! Gracias
Can I sell them?
Oh hello just subscribed to your channel and looking for something different for hair and skin , with less hard chemicals. I don't wear makeup and never have , maybe lipstick or lip gloss. Always rubbing my face and eyes. But I am comfortable with out makeup . Maybe you can help..
What model ph meter are you using
Here is the link for the specs: amzn.to/34Lmr3y
I hope this helps 💜
@@YayaDIYCreations Thank you! Can this be used directly in the finished product or must you make a slurry?
I will do this without the chemicals lol I am going to tweak it .....
I want to replicate this but I want this to just be a butter and add aloe Vera juice. What preservative would be best?
The one I used works well with anhydrous products so it should work fine for butters. Also, it works well with natural raw materials like aloe Vera juice, which can be difficult to preserve. I hope this helps. 💜
@@YayaDIYCreations thank you so much!
Thickeners can better be incorporated in water when they are first dispersed in Glycerin.
This is very true, but some ingredients/thickeners are designed to be dispersed easier without the use of glycerin. I mostly create a slurry when I am working with Xanthan gum. I hope this helps. 💜
