Great video! Thank you! Really, REALLY looking forward to this guy -- one of my favourite characters of all time, and the only original TMNT figure I still have. And I think that red bundle of long dangly things is meant to be a bunch of dried hot peppers. As for his size, his original bio card states that he was 12' 4" tall and weighed almost 900 lbs., so it'll be nice to have a really, big, chunky Leatherhead figure after all these years! And now I feel an urge to go mix up a batch of my celebrated Cajun spice blend . . . .
i’m not one to praise Super7, but credit where it’s due; the scaling of these figures is on point! A turtle is not bigger than an alligator, a warthog or a rhino, and super7 demonstrated this perfectly. On the card backs of the vintage figs we got heights, weight etc. Leather head is listed at over 12 feet tall, so he is 3x the height of the turtles.
One solution to get the super 7 leatherhead into the vintage pose is by taking the tail out, drill a long small diameter hole and put lead in there for counter weight.
Great looking figure. Love they made him bigger than the og was. Always one of my favorite toys and characters but always preferred his toon version. And I get an alligator has short limbs and while a big animal wouldn’t be very tall if it stood. But he’s a mutant so I preferred him hulking like all the other iterations of him. Glad the ultimates are making them a little more scale with some characters being bigger than others. This version I must say does represent what the og figure was trying to, alligators aren’t tall but they are very big bodied. Can’t say I like the all red accessories but I get it. And they do look like tobacco but think they may be feathers. The shotgun and rod are great! The rod could be used in other displays too
That one accessory does look like tobacco leaves or even feathers. However, it seems likely that it's some type of seasoning to go with the tiny turtle and monster crawfish that's on his belt.
I thought it was funny in the cartoon that he apparently killed that guy (who named him Leatherhead) and wore his clothes. That was the implication I got at least, lol.
Great review, I can't wait to this guy! When they preview pictures were shown I thought he looked kinda small but afterwards I realized that it only appeared that way because how huge his head was proportionally. I am really glad how they did him, this is one of those that look really different on the vintage line in comparison with the cartoon, I am glad Super7 preserved what made him unique. Great review, it looks to be such a fun figure. I like the new fishing rod accessory , not only it adds value to the figure but it makes sense with all the fishhooks he has in his clothes (plus it can be reused with other figures for some bucolic figure photography 😁) I think he's the star of the wave.
Every one that I've seen is packed so close to the bubble that it's rubbed paint off of the front of the mouth. I've heard that so many of these Leatherheads are like that too.
Agree with you on the head size. It's actually larger (proportionally) than it is on the vintage figure. It's not only a little detracting, it also contributes to his inability to balance well. It's odd that they took it this direction.

Leatherhead was one of my favourite figures out of the original line, so see this reinterpretation makes me happy.
I wish they'd given him a larger body like the Triceraton, Bebop and Rocksteady. I always hated his weird dwarf body the original toy had.

I had the original as a kid, i was one of my favorites for a time

The hunch pose would've been a lot easier to hold if the Super 7 version had colossal feet like the vintage Playmates one

This is the most anticipated figure of the wave for me. It's a giant Cajun gator with a shotgun...how can you not have that in your collection??
It sometimes feels like Super7 puts articulation in and doesn't quite think through what all it should do or could do.

This is the one from the Wave I'm waiting on. Only complaint, his teeth are yellow.
totally agree about the teeth! he by far exceeds my expectations with that one glaring exception
My complaint is it looks like s7 is lacking on the paint apps and doing more plastic the color
I wonder why the teeth on the trap aren’t painted. Those red belt accessories should’ve been painted too but he’s fine I guess. 8/10
Just like with Mondo, the head is so big it makes it feel chibi to me.

Great review and amazing figure!!!!
Amazing figure bro.
He looks nice. Great review. I think you can tell where maestro union got their design from in ther bbts exclusive hunter crocker fig.
The fishing rod is a nice addition. Boots look really good too. Not sure if i'll get him though. I got the Furay toys version coming in soon.
That looks amazing, but I just can't fit that into my budget, at the moment.

@@StoneSilentLLC Yup, the same thing happened with mine, dagnabbit.
as a Cajan and leather head being a stero type I do not care he is sick even though he is a stero type
Krang! Super7 Krang actually exists!

Those teeth, lol. I dig those huge stupid teeth. I’m mostly toon, but I’d like to have this one…
good review... this is a horrible toy for 2022
Why are his teeth yellow?
Alligator teeth are yellow.
the figure looks good I guarantee...🤠✌️ I have the version from Neca for cartoon accuracy but this one is BIG and nicely done toy accurate.💡😃
Super7 is getting so freakin' lazy. Compared this figure to Muckman, there's barely anything painted on the figure itself.
