It is very confusing to call a photo-resistor (LDR) a photocell. A photocell is short for photoelectric cell. This is a vacuum tube that contains a material that emits electrons when it is hit by photons. You can see it as a single stage photomultiplier.
Sorry for the confusion, the Advanced Photonix datasheet refers to their CDS photocells as photoresistors and LDR's whos resistance decrease with light. Also, NTE refers to them as photoconductive cells and LDR's.. again sorry for the confusion and thanks for watching. Ill put an update on the video.
