Hands down my favorite channel on UA-cam. Just a couple of mates hanging out building cars together. While I may not be from Australia, nor can I help to donate any of my time to help with building any of the cars, I complete agree with what Marty said about having someone there, even if they aren't doing any work. It's not always about wrenching on a car, but just having someone to hang out with to make the process go a little better all the way around. Good times in deed. I love coming back to y’all and seeing the genuine friendship of you two. Y’all always build each other up and are seemingly there for each other no matter what. Love it. Hope it continues to inspire more humans to do the same
You know I hear a ton of hate in the car world anymore about what people build but at the end of the day if it makes you happy and you like it then none of that matters. The car world has lost sight of building and enjoying cool cars and only focus in being faster than everyone else. Vw aren't my cup of tea but I watched every video of the up because you guys are legends.
The reaction from Moog was so Genuine, he thought it was a Joke but that Smile on his Face driving it, well done to Marty and and the VAG Commander for getting the Up running. Not a huge VW Fan even through I own a VAG Group Car (Skoda) as the realible family wagon but I do have a lot of time for the Up and it's Skoda twin the Citigo.

Mighty Car Mods is such an awesome thing. I feel happy every time a new episode is released because it shows you can have what you want if you persist and be ok with the 100 things that will go wrong in order to do it. Oh, and groups of people with the same goal who look after each other are a force. I'm not young and modding cars was easy in my youth. You just did it, no problem. The constraint on young people now means you have to be so determined to have what you want. But you can have it with some effort. Mighty car mods is so much more than cars.
I love you guys, the love you have for each other, the weird and wonderful taste you both have in cars, the passion and the spirit, the amazing musical score, the production value, the straight up snuggle vibes when something goes wrong and you each can comfort one another like a champ. Most of all you both seem like top blokes who really understand the impact you have had on a large scale but still don't take yourselves to seriously and shout out everyone that has helped you out on every single build you have ever blessed us with. (not to mention the work you do for reach out). x
I was smiling the whole way through this video, your friendship is so wholesome. Thank you for bringing us on your epic journeys I can honestly say after so many years watching you guys it feels like I almost know you personally and that's down to how you boys make your fans feel part of what your doing and your genuine enthusiasm. Well done again lads and can't wait for you to do glorious battle in your nuggets.

Betting the original ECU isn't 'dead'. Most of the control MOSFETs go to (reference) ground. Betting one or more of those got fried and they are easy to replace since they are surface mount devices (SMDs). Also cheap to purchase. I've repaired several Subaru ECUs this way.
Heck yeah congratulations guys! Way to go team, way to go internet, another excellent MCM win! Love the positivity and never give up attitude you all live and share every single video.

I've been feeling absolute sh1t for Moog the whole damn time! I also love that the champ who came to the rescue has a name like "Miles" which is immediately car-related :D Talk about meant-to-be.
Bloody brilliant, I absolutely needed good news today, and congratulations Moog, and thank you Marty and the team, today I found out a friend passed away from asthma attack, was only 23
It’s mental you can’t buy one, you can’t import one… but you can get all the parts to make one!!! Pretty sure the UK has no restrictions on imports, as long as it has what’s needed to pass an MOT. Looking forward to the next project!!
australian import laws are a combination of a bunch of different laws from different areas of the government. Emissions stuff is super odd in australia because some of it isn't really based on logic, it's based on corporate interest. Then there's a bunch of import laws to protect the australia car market which barrs a bunch of stuff from entering the country. then there are some odd safety laws that come into play on what can be imported. It makes for a really tough place to import a vehicle that was meant for a different region.
On the back of the previous comment. We cannot bring certain cars if it has rust. Even surface rust cannot enter the country. There's alot of biosecurity laws. We could bring an Up! GTI under two special conditions. If the owner stayed in a certain country for a period of one year and can prove it or you can bring it in as a Race car only category.
What a journey it's been, so happy you got this littlt nugget working ! Enjoy driving it ! Can't wait for the next episode in this (or any other) epic series

Having worked for a major EC supplier for many many many years, l am very happy that you could find someone who had the software to rebake an ECU , l would run for miles for a friend like that.
The module for the door failing as you fixed the other ECU is the most Volkswagen thing that ever Volkswagen'd (own a Manual Mk8 Golf R. Only car I've ever bought the extended warranty on)
Well done guys been loving watching this build. Just wish the GTI version was available here it would sell well. Can’t wait to see the future mods. This thing will be a pocket rocket! 😂
Lads, I’ve been watching this channel for the last 10 years religiously. This is one of the coolest things I’ve seen. Marty, you legend. The last episode broke my heart. Also, Moog, of course the driver door doesn’t work, that’s what makes it a VW!!! 😂😂 well done boys!!!
When Marty rang Moog. I'm half surprised Marty didn't just say *baaaaaaaaaaa* it and just wait the 15 mins. Regardless it's great to see the Up GTi running and it's gonna be fun seeing the nuggets get thrashed! 💜
This is why i love VAG cars. Having so many parts either plug and play or at least compatible with some modifications allows for some really cool Frankenstein builds. Having messed with Japanese cars most of my life, switching over to Volkswagen can be absolute misery at times with the nonsensical way they're built, but when you get them running from an amalgamation of parts from other cars for very little money, its so satisfying.
I love watching the two of you work on the cars, but the reason I'm subscribed and never miss an episode is because you are genuinely excellent human beings. The world sorely needs more people like you!
I love how this build is so similar to my 2012 Focus SE sedan build that I converted into an ST. A lot of the issues that they are facing are the same ones myself and a very few other MK3 sedan owners faced. Such a cool thing to relive it in this series!!
Probably my favorite part about this channel is seeing what these two friends do for each other. After seeing the disappointment from Moog in the last episode, seeing Marty (and friends) go above and beyond to surprise him with a fixed car today - wholesome content! Great stuff.
Been watching you guys for years now! I've enjoyed every single project you've done. Do you have any plans to come to the UK in the future? Maybe a special in the UK 🤔. There's plenty of little cars here in the UK that are so much fun to just take on a drive through the hills we have here.
Hey guys, what I think would be an absolute banger of an idea would be that people get some of you merch sure, but the tools and stuff that you are giving away you guys should send it to the garage in Kuala Lumpur, 2 benefits to that 1.they’ve got some sweet as tools and 2. So glad that you stayed UP! beat about the setbacks and eventually got it UP! and running. I'm sure that you'll be tweaking it UP! in the future, and we are all excited about seeing the next video that you post UP! about this great UP! project.

So glad to see it finally driving, Moog looked so happy driving it, Martin youre such a great friend for helping there when the ECU fried. Vag commander you and your work are great, been watching the progress of this since the beginning, cant wait to see what other finishing touches you add to the car. Thank you for the great content guys.
You guys have the absolute best vibeout of all the automotive UA-cam channels. Literally shed a tear at the end of the last episode, the motion you guys display is so tangible. Thank you so much for everything you do and so happy to see this outcome!
Friggin pumped you guys got it running again and got to do a 1st drive. It's a proper nugget and I can't wait to see what's next, well done mates. Everyone keep yourselves and love ones safe and healthy and remember to SMILE 😊God Bless 🙏
(not to mention the work you do for reach out). x
Smiled the whole way through watching this. Car guys through and through and proper mates.
I laughed I cried you moved me 🙂 totally awesome how the community came together to help you guys, kudos to those who helped! And a well-deserved driver there did you see that smile. From the begging days of your UA-cam to now, you have come a long way great job! and as always Have a nice day.
I sommer got emotional man! Marty, what a friend you are indeed! I'm so happy for you Mppg! Enjoy the little Up GTI NUGGET, and many safe Kilometers!
Betting the original ECU isn't 'dead'. Most of the control MOSFETs go to (reference) ground. Betting one or more of those got fried and they are easy to replace since they are surface mount devices (SMDs). Also cheap to purchase. I've repaired several Subaru ECUs this way.
Possibly could be fixed by a pro, but a MED17.1.27 ECU was $200 from the Wreckers, With the Help of some friends this was the path of least resistance
Heck yeah congratulations guys! Way to go team, way to go internet, another excellent MCM win! Love the positivity and never give up attitude you all live and share every single video.
Congratulations! I'm so pleased that you've got it to work well done everyone! And how nice of your mates to get it done as a surprise! Awesome job! Go Up go! (I too am an Up driver mine is just a plane Up and I live in the UK so do aspire to a G.T.I. in the future.
I just placed my first order to support the boys, I've been a fan of the content for years now but I've just managed to reach a place where I can afford buying random stuff, so here is my first purchase to support a youtube channel ever. Decided to go for the Turbos & Temples 3 book, definitely one of my top 5 videos of the channel and a Chopped Finger sticker to show my support around town, on my new (new to me) 2012 Mazda. Thank you guys for all the good times and all the efforts you put into making these videos.
i dun really make any comments so far many years catching ur episodes, really i tink i need to voice out tis time about the sediments building my car and fighting all the obstucles along the way. when i watch these episodes that you guys came up with really makes me know out there there is someone else sharing the same kind of experience with me.
commenting all the way from singapore!
Awesome to see the UP being fixed and so many people coming together and helping to get it fixed and brought back to life. So good to see all this. 😄😄😄☺
Love to see how happy you both are - especially following that last episode. Marty said it - things can only go up from there!
Thank you for making the great Videos! I myself don't own a car as i live in a city. But love to watch and listen to you and learn new things and just enjoy it! The 24h race was insane, the offroad amazing and the mods on your cars are EPIC! Greetings from Switzerland!
Way to hang tough guys! Set a goal and achieve. Thanks for showing the good and the bad. (ECU Pop). It's what makes your content great. Thanks for all the work you put into the content.
I've been watching Mighty Car Mods since 2008 and have never been disappointed. Moog and Marty are true UA-cam legends!
Yes Fellas fantastic. Moog, your music is so emotive 🤩
I feel your pain. Did a lot of work on my Mazda5 and did exactly what you did... I was so sad and it took me a few weeks to track down what I did and when I figured it out I immediately knew it was my fault. I'm back up and running and happy to see your on the same path! Good luck!
Even though shipping is silly to the uk, knowing I’m supporting and helping them finance there dreams completely offsets the shipping. I look forward to ensuring whatever Marty has to offer at least makes smiles.
Seriously beautiful gesture between friends
Love this guys. Marty you are the bread bud! Really cool of you to fix this up for Blair. Sounds really good and looks really quick. Thanks for sharing your journey with us guys. Hope all is well!
Outstanding. Good job Marty! The smile on Moog's face is gold. This car exceeded my expectations. What a ride!
This series feels so much like the OGs. I love that some things went wrong and you got the enjoyment of working it out. Cheers, fellas.
This made me so happy, everyone should have a mate like you both have in each other. Have thourghly loved watching you guys since the start, somehow feeling part of the journey! Legends! ❤
The think I like about this channel is two Friends just hanging out working on cars. No extra drama/ frills. Keep doing what you are doing. Thanks for the entertainment.
Love the series and sticking to it guys!
Marty is such a great friend to have, and big shout out to everyone who helped out!
So fricken stoked to see the boys driving this!! Dont stop pushing.
How good is it to open your subscriptions list and to see MCM has a little blue dot to let me know there's a new video...
So good...
Great work fellas.
Placed my order all the way from AMERICA. I’ve been watching you guys for years and years, love all that you do!
What an absolute King coming through with the software and workshop to smash out that finishing work. What a great mate, thats what makes working on cars awesome, everyone brings something to the table
For years now been following along, from the moms garage to now Super Garage, you guys have kept me interested in your builds. Keep it up.
The hug was amazing.
You could see the genuine gratitude on moogs face.
I love you guys.
This is the best automotive channel on UA-cam...these two close friends and their merry band of help....and Moog just going for the hug to Marty....says it all about these gentlemen, best friends.
I muck around with modifying cars and mostly VAG stuff. I’ve also been involved in helping my mate preparing a 1972 Torana XU1 for Group N racing. I know that feeling when you stuff something up no pun intended. I’m also aware of the elation when you finally get it done. Well done guys.
I've been feeling absolute sh1t for Moog the whole damn time! I also love that the champ who came to the rescue has a name like "Miles" which is immediately car-related :D Talk about meant-to-be.
Bloody brilliant, I absolutely needed good news today, and congratulations Moog, and thank you Marty and the team, today I found out a friend passed away from asthma attack, was only 23
That is Proper Brotherhood and Friendship right there!!! Happy to see this result after last episode! AWESOMENESS
Your friendship is genuine and it shows.
This is by far the best car content channel on this planet called 🌎... no lies. Love the work you two Ausies do... love from South Africa
18:05 That’s the definition of empathy.
This engine loves a stage 1 tune. You go from 115 hp to 140 hp. The crazy part, you drop 1 hole second on your 0 to 100 kmh time.
Seeing you guys upload a video just makes my day so much better. I always look forward it.
Love it. Had faith you guys would overcome with your skills, determination, and not least the mates you've made in the course of your career. Stoked for you Moog, you deserve it mate
Only car I've ever bought the extended warranty on)
Congratulations Moog on your UP! GTI, she’s a beauty
Well done guys been loving watching this build. Just wish the GTI version was available here it would sell well. Can’t wait to see the future mods. This thing will be a pocket rocket! 😂
so glad this worked out man, enjoy your sweet new ride!
So pleased you guys got this running and can finally enjoy it , ao good to uave friends like that to just jump in and help anyway they can 👍
Man, this is exactly what the world needs. Help everyone and anyone with what you have and what you can. Love that tiny VW.
What a roller coaster of emotions this build has been. Been here for every minute of it and love it all. Big VAG fan here.
Best kind of surprise for a mate! Could tell how bummed Moog was after the ecu mishap. But this is what its about, mates
When Marty rang Moog. I'm half surprised Marty didn't just say *baaaaaaaaaaa* it and just wait the 15 mins.
Regardless it's great to see the Up GTi running and it's gonna be fun seeing the nuggets get thrashed! 💜
So stoked for you guys that you managed to get it going again without too much faff. Good on ya! Looking forward to seeing it on the track!
Can we just appreciate that this channel has been around for 15+ years and still manages to make great and enjoyable content!
This actually works all the time. VW in Albuquerque, New Mexico fixed my ‘92 Golf with a Eurovan ECU and I wasn’t backfiring anymore. 👍🏼😎🇺🇸
Amaizing! Love it, really happy for you mate!
I love watching the two of you work on the cars, but the reason I'm subscribed and never miss an episode is because you are genuinely excellent human beings. The world sorely needs more people like you!
I am LOVING the VAG content 💙
Everyone loves VAG. I've had 9 in my life over the years and 2 to choose from daily.
When you go back over and absolutely SMASH that race next time, you’ll have some more tools to use as well!
Cheers heaps for all you guys do man! Absolute legends and I hope to meet you at a car meet someday!
