"The warranty start date shown for any product in a Fanatec account is based on the shipping date of the order. This means if the customer purchases a pre-order item, the purchase date has no bearing on the start of the warranty coverage. If the customer requires support towards the end of the warranty period, we take the date of delivery into account."

My first experience with Fanatec was also the end of it.
The base was making strange sounds and the steering wheel was broken.
Send it back, bought me a Simucube, three years later stil very happy.
How TF are they bankrupt, the prices....the gt sponsorship, esports...etc. piss poor management can be the only reason

His company is losing millions of dollars each month and he seemed very relaxed and unbothered in that interview. That's worrisome and doesn't add up. We don't have the full picture.

@@JJ79_ Exactly. He seemed rather worried and actually quite exhausted. His eyes darted everywhere and I'd bet there were a dozen thoughts at once. - But he's a business-person, they tend to have a lot on their plate, as well as that stoic demeanor about them.
He didn't seem relaxed to me.
@@JJ79_ I noticed the same. He looked like a man who had been through a couple of years of problems and was sort of defeated to an extent. Someone who had accepted a sad fate.
I bought a GT DD Pro in December last year. Got it right before Jan 1 and requested a return label the first week I had it. It took them until March to send me a label and then after sending it back never sent me my money back. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company which I won. I don’t understand how Fanatec is sponsoring entire racing championships yet can’t refund people their money. I have a G Pro now and all is well.
We went with a G Pro right away because of the crappy reputation Fanatec had for customer service. Also totally happy with the G pro from day one.

FANATEC sim gear is my favorite. It's the only kit that is compatible with PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X! They have been derailed... I hope they get right!
The fanatec DD+ has also basically the best FFB on the market next to simucube... for better price. Fanatec need to get their service and software up to date and they gucci
I feel I have something to add here. Two nights ago unaware of the Fanatec issues I pulled the trigger on $2.200 worth of gear from them then saw the following morning this video. I felt my timing was typically bad. I had an "Order received notice that was generated at the moment of sale and emailed to me. Saw your video and decided to call my bank. I was informed that this wasn't a scam and as such I would have to wait for the goods to no-show before filing a claim but then they would if necessary cover my losses and then go after them. I felt better about my decision to make my first Rig purchases and I would still love to see this stuff make its way to me. Last Nite around midnight I got my email that all of my gear had been delivered to Fed-Ex withTracking numbers given and this all checks out. Fed Ex is more than capable of being a pain in the Ass but as a sutch, this would not be a Fanatec issue. My gear left their facility within two days of my placing my order. And I thought relating this would give some insight. For me this looks to be turning out Okay.

Thank you for this video Kireth I have been on the fence with upgrading my Fanatec CSL elite to a DD of sort but with this news I am cautiously awaiting … please keep doing this video as it really keeps us sim racers that are don’t really have the time to analyze this like you. Thank you again

I bought a used csl dd 18 months ago and absolutely love it with zero issues so far. Moza has good budget dd options too but if you already have fanatec wheels, pedals etc i think spending a couple hundred on a csl dd is worth the risk. If money isn't a big issue then obviously there's better options out there but that's not my personal situation.
When in doubt zoom out.
M&A will probably be only solution at this point. The volume and price action says no one wants to touch this with a 10 foot pole

Ironically I got a Fanatec ad before this video and I guess that's Fanatec's main problem without knowing the numbers. They seem to do marketing similar to much bigger companies with billions in revenues and that's killing the profits.
Personally I hope they survive. Which other Sim Racing company sells a wheel base that works with PC, Playstation and Xbox???

@Bonoscot there is no other sim racer like gran turismo, so I think it's worth it for that game alone. Perfect balance of serious and casual racing where you can just hop into a few races and be done. Plus iracing and acc graphics are pretty garbage let's be real.

I am not so sure about that. Fanatec is in dire problems. Not only because of the issues. The market has changed rapidly in the last 2 years. And when fanatec had to deal with chip shortages, warehouse problems etc etc, brands like Moza, Simagic and Asetek took advantage. And even if you prefer Fanatec over Simagic or Asetek, would you take the risk? Fanatec doesn't even have the advantage of their ecosystem, unless you want to buy every year the same Formula wheel, but with a different color scheme. Their gear is no longer up to date.
@@MrMikap74 It's not about that. It's about business related aspects. Fanatec had a revenue of 24 million in q4 of 2023. gudsen Moza racing had a revenue of 8 million in all 2024.
Fanatec had a yealry revenue of 80 million with only 20 mil coming from their online purchases. They won't be in danger any time soon.
Fanatec has the best brand recognition outside the advanced sim racers. Their credibility as a 20+ year old company makes it impossible for banks to pull their loans overnight. Fanatec set the standard for this new market. the csl dd 8nm bundles are still the best bang for your buck. I get that their customer side has been woeful (its a bit better now) but this will not make fanatec go bankrupt.
Their stocks are down as a natural result of financial restructuring.

Hey, I got a GT DD Pro set at home thst I bought last year and I'm thinking of adding the shifter, although my rig doesn't have a support for it. Shall I buy it before Fanatec goes bankrupt or can I wait until I get a new rig somewhere later this year?
I’m no expert so don’t quote me, but think I remember seeing one of the rally or drifting guys say he went through about two or three fanatec handbrakes in a year.. not sure about shifters but sure there will be vids of people reviewing it, I’d do my research get a good one that won’t break and maybe offers interchangeable tops?

@@GregoryShtevensh okay. So I'll probably still get the H-Shifter this year. The GT DD Pro is amazing with it's shifting pedals, but for some cars the H-Shifter just give me that little extra.
My last experience with Fanatec was it, RMA wheel that took months to find out they can't create a shipping label. I'd have to pay for shipping and they would refund it and I don't fully trust they would. Wheel is still usable (loose shifter arm) so gonna suck it up and someday I'll move onto another brand, either Moza or Simucube. Fanatec gear is great as long as it works but when it doesn't customer service is non existent.
I need to get another wheel, I have the f1 2.5x but would like a round one of gt style or something.. Any recommendations on a good all around clubsport wheel?
Don’t need negativity answers, I have the CS DD F1 wheel and the CSL elite v2 pedals and love em. Shame this has happened to them. Has to be Xbox compatible at least until I get a PC.
I know of one right off the top of my head. He bought a Fanatec wheelbase and yet to get it fixed. And it's been five months. He gets halfway emails. Halfway responses. You name it and no date to send it back, no date when it gonna get repaired, nothing. They ain't done nothing. And I was actually excited because I was going to buy one and then all this debacle started and I cannot honestly put my money into it. So I went with another company.

I had a good experience with Fanatec.
Ordered the CSL DD 5nm bundle on 18th December and received it the 22nd.
Got the ali express 8nm boost kit recently for cheap.
Got the srm mini emulator qmd and 3d print my own QR for my 350mm wheel.
I love my CSL DD

Stick with Logitech. Your G923 is a great beginner's wheel; I had one before I upgraded to a Fanatec DD Pro, but for reasons I've stated above (in this thread) I decided to get a G Pro from Logitech as insurance.
Kireth owns a G Pro as well. They are a solid product, and you can't go wrong with build quality and warranty.

SO glad I did my homework and avoided Fanatec.
It seems to me when a company goes public too soon they go to crap not always but most of the time. When share holders are involved it goes to crap.
I really don't know If I should be worried about my order. I orderd it on Friday April 19th and It's been "In process" for almost a week. I live on the east coast of the U.S. and everything part of my order says it will "Ship in 4 - 7 days" I'm just hoping that Is true. And thoughts of what I should do?
I ordered at the beginning of April here in the UK and have had the same until this week. Couldn’t get hold of anyone about it by any method, web chat; email; phone etc. Disputed through PayPal and escalated to a claim in order to get a refund which I finally got in the last couple of days. Funnily enough once PayPal got involved they suddenly sent me a template email saying they have stock issues at the warehouse. I’m so glad I backed out. My view is that if their website states 4-7 days dispatch and they haven’t dispatched after 2 weeks then something is seriously wrong in the modern world. Cancel your order… that’s my recommendation.
My order of 10 April for the UK was delivered today (26 April). I was quite worried for a while about the order being fulfilled. Best of luck!

Only 4 months! You could literally have walked over to Landshut to collect it, and be back in time.
Me and my brother both ordered stuff from fanatec . No problems after one year . Don´t let negative comments distract you . Probably 99 percent of the customers are happy with their product .

Fortunately my order from end of January is being delivered tomorrow so if they do go bust, at least i've got what i paid for. Hopefully it'll all work ok aswell so any future warranty issues won't be an issue should they go insolvent.
Fanatec missed out on sales of the new clubsport dd and dd+ by not releasing the qr1 adapter. Im sure many on the fence due to the cost of upgrading all their existing wheels to qr2 just to use the new wheel base.

@@Kireth I would have bout the clubsport base and upgraded to the qr2 down the track. I guess they were hoping people would just bite the bullet and jump on the qr2.
I ordered the dd pro gran turismo 5nm bundle last thurs, shipping number the next morning, delivered that saturday. 2 caveats:
1)two yr old bundle, not the newest product, so they've had time to stock up
2)i live in north dallas/ft. worth TX, and i think they moved their US warehouse near DFW intl airport.
But wanted to share a successful fanatec order incase some are on the fence.

I hope the changes they are introducing work out and Fanatec succeed in making their business viable. If they fail, we as consumers all lose out, whether you have bought into the Fanatec ecosystem or not. Fair play to you for sticking with the story, I for 1 think it’s important to be aware of truths, no matter how hard they are to hear, although I doubt Fanatec are enjoying your coverage very much 😅
I’m same as you I have the dd pro and csl peddles ordered the shifter and load cell peddle on 6 April and the 16th ups say it’s return to sender as there is no commercial invoice. They been emailing them and so have I but no reply yet . So still stuck in Germany. I want the hand brake but it’s on pre order now . I kind or need it as I want to do drifting so now I’m just waiting to see if these ones come first . If I receive the gear shifter I will order the handbrake and McLaren wheel for sure 👍 let’s see how it goes

Ive ordered a podium r300 wheel, podium hub, qr2 quick release and its been sat in the "in process" status for the last 12 days. I hope i get my wheel before they go bankrupt

Hope they can sort it out, they make good stuff. A bit expensive, but their new line, GTDD Pro etc, was way more accessible.
Decided to make the jump from Thrustmaster to Fanatec in January. I hadn’t seen any of the horrendous customer service comments and definitely not the interview with their former CEO. Lots of red flags here for sure. That being said I continued to order parts. Over the past 3 months ALL Fanatec EQ has shown up super quick and has been working without issue. (DDpro, CSL Pedals, Load Cell, McClaren rim, CSL hub V2 and 320 Round Rim, 2 QR1Lites and 1 QR1 Pro) have all landed in California no problemo. For whatever it’s worth. Sometimes DD base likes to disconnect from PS5 but it’s rare and the only issue to report. Very Happy customer!
We literally just received our first Fanatec wheel and pedals (GT DD Pro) and was hoping to also buy the F1 wheel. Really hope this is not the end of the Fanatec company and the ecosystem of hardware for existing owners !
I have both a CSL DD and a Moza R5 bundle, and I find that the R5 has better braking. CSL DD costs 1152 USD, and R5 costs 524 USD.

damn. I'm a new sim racer. I was thinking about getting something from Fanatec but found a cheap G29 and I do not regret that decision. Thanks for everyone's advice on getting something cheaper to start off and not go all crazy with my first set up.

As a new IRacing customer, I can tell you, without question, DO NOT BUY ANY FANATEC GEAR IF YOU ARE IN THE US!!!! Reason: Not if, but WHEN, it breaks, there is no one to call, no live customer service, emails are not answered, and you are stuck with broken gear with the only option would be to buy a new piece of equipment. I have never said this about any other company but I just went through it because of a firmware upgrade! I fried an $800 brand new wheel base and I have no one to call or talk to for a fix. RUN AWAY FROM ANY FANATEC! I don’t even know who to recommend, just don’t go with them , you have been warned, I promise.
Was about to go with the DD Pro. But the company made me hesitate and i went with Asetek. One of the best decisions i ever made

I agree: It's very double in that, if there's some product you really still want to have, you might need to jump on it now, but then support has the potential to be out at some point. - Unless it's some product that could do without the support, I wouldn't really risk it. Because if it's a very expensive product and it could malfunction or something, as it's still mechanical, you're just gonna be stuck with that. - As for the software-side... I don't know, but there might be a big enough community that you can find "homebrew" software. I've done that for my Thrustmaster-set cause I use Linux and it works. - That said, I would probably go with a different company at this point or wait and see first. - I wouldn't let "fomo" get in the way of a sensible decision, unless you can be sure that you can take care of the technical side of things or can be sure that it wouldn't break down. But I'm really not sure how viable that is. These direct-drive motors don't seem very diy-friendly, and then the wheels seem quite complicated with all their controls. - So, again, unless it's a rim that doesn't have much on it or something, I'd hold off and wait or look somewhere else.

Interesting. I just bought the DD Extreme, received that within days (In the US). After I tried it out, ordered a QR-2 wheelside and a brake performance kit. Looks like those are not in stock as there's been no further communication. If I had known that, I would have put the QR-1 back on my old rig before selling it.
Looking at their Order Status page, the Status of all orders, even my 1st from 2 years ago, is "Open". This makes me suspect they don't have a way to figure out when things are shipped and this could be part of the source of their current chaos.
The other thing that now seems apparent, is that they can't make (enough?) QR-2 adapters. They are still selling the Formula wheel with the QR-1, and possibly other gear. Manufacturing QR-2's seems like a good thing to prioritize.
I've no doubt that they will come through this. It does sound like they need to recruit some people to fix issues around logistics and cash management (and forecasting). I've no problem with a CEO getting fired if they failed to see their blind spots and failed to do the things needed to prevent the clusterf**k that they are now in.
Had my gt ddpro for two week and it lit itself on fire. Been waiting since Feb 7 to send it back. One email every month. It's an absolute joke.
Jebus, that's nuts. That's actually a thing I think about often, I drive in VR so there would be a considerable blaze before I even see it. Good that you got away from that relatively unscathed. That shit is terrifying.
@JimmyNuisance worst part is it did that after with the power button off too. They don't even tqoe a fire hazard seriously.
I hope they pull through all this. I have the GT DD Pro and want to upgrade to the Clubsport DD+ wheelbase. Now, seeing this, I don't know. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm a PS5 GT7 player who enjoys the game immensely, I would make a change to Moza. I like their wheels and the R16 wheelbase. Too bad you need an adapter to use Mosa on PS5, which I don't trust those things. Never know if and when that adapter might come obsolete.

I ordered for almost 1k worth of stuff on the 10th of April. Like a week ago I was like "They're struggling but it is possibly I can get my stuff and they survive", but now I'm very close to cancel my order and buy somewhere else. Not sure what to do at this point
Cancel your order, I think they are about to file bankruptcy and then your money is gone..

What do you think about the new 25 millions from tj ?
I thought it was odd that the new CEO (CRO, whatever) used the phrase “due to overwhelming demand.” If there’s overwhelming demand, why are they having money problems? I also don’t understand why, in the age of Amazon, it takes 5-7 days to ship an order. I just ordered a new rim from Fanatec because that’s what my whole ecosystem is. I guess I should start considering a backup system. Anyway, the Fanatec brand has value. Hopefully some other company will buy them out and breathe new life into the company.
Because good products or high demand aren’t things that lead to success if the company is severely mismanaged. See my other post for bank perspectives. If the demand is real and the issue is purely mismanagement there is a way out and they could come back around. Here’s to hoping.
that's realy sad, I was just starting my hoobby on sim racing with my g29 and thinking to go fanatech because thier ecossistem looks more "upgradable" with csl dd lineup. but the future looks grim and probably I will hold the investiment for now , or maybe go with other brand

I was in the market for my first direct drive wheel. I wanted the Fanatec Podium, but when I went on the website, I had to preorder it for nearly a month later. I went to Moza and got a bundle for nearly the same price in less than a week. When I wanna sim race I wanna do it as soon as possible...not race on backorder 😂
Crap! I just ordered the dd pro... I just ordered it on Sunday. I still havent received a tracking number. I think I should cancel my order....
Simply management lost contact with reality, that often happens when company was doing too good. They focused on burning money on sponsoring instead hard work to improve products and bring new ones. Simply as that, its total shame in era of simracing growing like never before.
Hello on the other hand if you have loads of money and like to gamble you could buy fanatec shares on the cheap and if they do turn it around and the share price goes up through the roof you could make a fortune.

Its really been brutal, i got my setup a few weeks ago after a 2 month wait. I love the product, I truly do. Getting the product is the issue and that shouldn't be the case.

I would like to see someone like Simucube buy them out so they can expand into the PS and XBox markets. The key will be how much debt do they have on their books. PS5 and XBox need better options

Yo K. I love how much content you put out. You put out so much content you're usually up in the top two three searches anytime I search anything for Gran Turismo 7. That being said if you're posting so much can we get better content. I don't care for all the clickbait. It would be so much more helpful. I would even subscribe😊 If things like, you know when the new daily races come out. Tuning for the current Meta car. lap guides, things like that. I'm only bothering to comment because your videos always pop up whenever I am looking for some sort of gt7 sim information or help. I'm not looking for stock futures or the current racing Sim drama. Up your game. You've obviously got the time and the equipment and the want to post a lot of videos. Don't just rehash the same racing tips that everybody knows. I heard that they own 25-30 million euros. That's pennies for a private investor . The problem is that no one wants to throw away money on a company that has no focus on customer service.

Another gaming tech company going up in flames. Much like EKWB, with EXPENSIVE products. I just bought a Logitech g29. Because i couldnt chip in my entire paycheck for either of Fanatec offerings. In doing so, seems like i dodged a bullet.
Maybe we should rethink our trust with these "premium tech companies," because while they may ship a better product, their finances and treatment of employees may not be better off than we thought.
I bought so much stuff from them (CSL DD, DD1, Porsche Podium Wheel and som CSL Pedals and 2 more Rims). And now I have to file a RMA because of their driver Update and I have to pay for it. That was enough for me. Yesterday I ordered a Asetek Forte Wheelbase and Wheel. And I will sell everything what I have from this company and never will come back when everything is running again.

Now I don't know, but my guess is that the people involved in this 'business' have seen the writing on the wall and decided to get out with what they can. I remeber your last video's, any advice you could give to prospective purchasers from now should reflect your real feelings without any lingering fondness for a company which has serviced the community 'quiet' well for the last few years. For me it is without doubt a busted flush.

I spent over $2000 and my last order contained a non-working, RMA'd part that came in a beat-up dirty box with loose screws inside...
Took 2 weeks for support to respond, now that I responded I got an other robot answer stating that they are overloaded. :(
TBH I have zero trust in them. I think I will start with walking into the local Moza dealer, and getting a pedal/base/wheel/shifter combo as I highly doubt they will ever get to the end of their queue.

Hope to get up on their feet. That guy Thomas for some reason my mind says that he taking all the money for him self. This company made and makes lot of millions of money. Where are all these money going. I feel REALLY sorry for all the customers/owners of Fanatec products. This cannot be good for the industry. Perhaps a takeover can turn things around. Their latest products are very good.
I bought a Logitech DD Pro as insurance for the inevitable day my DD Pro would develop a fault which necessitated it being returned to the factory for repair. I'd had dealings with their 'support' which raised serious doubts for me.

When is Fanatec launching a competitive wheel that can compete with MOZA FSR and is not $1,500, I've been with Fanatec Since ClubSport Wheel base V1 (Still on it) but for the life of me I can't Fanthom in 10 years and not even a single Formula Rim with an ACTUAL screen, I'm writing this as I'm saving to buy my first DD and will be MOZA.
This seems like a good time to buy Fanatec stock!!

Fanatec make great products. I love all my gear from them and I really hope they stay afloat! But Fanatec 3rd party sellers would really help u and us. So please figure ur crap out!
Technically they will have a hard time refinancing any debts with the current "high" interest rates. This is not a great position to be in. Also 1 person holding 50% shares of the company has the power to TANK the stock (though might be illegal to do that)

If you know anything about investing at all, you know investing in hardware based company is a bad bad thing. Hardware is very difficult to margin. Thats why software makes money generating 30-50% margins, where hardware sits at 5-10%. Its a tough industry.

Business is more complicated than that, and there are others way out of Bankruptcy, without even filing for it.

I wouldn't buy. I had an order in a few weeks back for the McLaren/ csldd and some pedals. Nobody was available by email to get updates or tracking number. Everything was auto-generated email. And there was nobody available by phone....the best one could do is a voice mailbox that was full. I called CC company to reverse the payment and then canceled my order. I tried for weeks to get a hold of somebody and some shipping info. If that is the experience of purchasing one can imagine the experience of dealing with them if something breaks and needs to be warranted/ repaired.
Purchasef the Logitech g pro instead. Arrived in a matter of 3 business days. Couldn't be happier.

Made a purchase almost month ago, all the same issues with no contact etc, ended up submitting a dispute through PayPal which I almost instantly upgraded to a claim and with 48 hours the refund was finally granted. So glad I backed out. Gone with Logitech G Pro also. Not sure why anyone wants to give Fanatec their hard earned cash when the company can’t get even the basics right.
My last order came in less than four days... which was less than a month ago, so I made a second order which has been stuck in the processing phase for the last few days...I'm going to stick with them I think they can pull out of this and if worse comes to worse I can always chargeback...but I'm not even close to that yet.
Logitech will buy them like they did with Saitek... Logitech has all the money needed on hand, and they could do well with more people working on their DD wheels. They need a 400 dollar DD wheel SO BAD to replace their g29 series. Fanatec has a lot of patents and expertise in making DD wheels in that price range. Granted, it's probably going to be more expensive than Logitech designing a wheel on their own, but there's a LOT of stuff to get from absorbing Fanatec. Hell, just refitting new hub to the wheel selection Fanatec has already made so it'll fit on the GPro wheel base would be worth a lot of cash.
If it continues to drop, it surely has to get sold to someone right? Maybe some chinese entity will grab it.
Maybe Microsoft will buy it and give us the Sidewinder Racing brand :D
