Yeah I can imagine Yzak watching this and still be mad at the strike lol. That aside this is definitely of a weird cap but at least it got actual beam sabers instead of stupid toothpicks. Another good quick review!
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but with the remaster edition of this kit, there are a few prepainted effect parts to recreate the missiles firing out of the shoulder pad. They arent exactly good pieces that bring the kit up a rank, but worth mentioning nonetheless
I feel like Bandai should give non-main Gundam kits and many others a revive. I mean if the Zakus get a revive, there's no harm in giving something like the Duel and Buster a revive with some added improvements. I would die happy if they decide to give the 00 kits a Revive. Especially considering how rare it is to find the 00 Diver is right now.

You know, now that i think about it, the Duel Gundam is the true Grandaddy Gundam in the Cosmic Era. It's design is simple and blocky, like the RX-78-2 Gundam and the Assault Shroud is the Cosmic Era's version of the Full Armor Pack for the RX-78-2 Gundam.
Personally, the interesting thing about Duel Gundam is that it had more win in SEED series without Assault Shroud. Bcoz Assault Shroud is the embodiment of Yzak personal hate for Strike Gundam, but once he let go of the said Hatred for a greater cause, BOOM! Even Forbidden & Raider Gundam didn’t stand a Chance!🎉

Ig this kit is still good for accuracy nuts who prefer the old Duel's lineart compared to the newer, sleeker proportions. Speaking of, I will check in again for the Duel Blitz review to ask if the Assault Shrouds for both this and the Blu Duel can fit
The good old Okawara proportions eh? Speaking of, my HLJ order fell through because I was too late in ordering it. I'll have to put it on indefinite delay while I look for an alternate source to get it in within a reasonable timeframe. My apologies
@@mj2005gundam Yeah, the Okawara proportions definitely has its charms And understood, I didn't get the chance to preorder so I'm just stalking all my local stores to snag one when the chance arrives
The difference between the straight build and the painted one is night and day. I wish more yters had the ability to show off what painted kits could look like but that's sadly unrealistic
I'm waiting excited for hg duel blitz gundam and thunder buster gundam they amazing kits later year. Also, I hope bandai makes buster gundam or duel gundam into rg that would be amazed
I'd still pick it up just for the parts. I like how the head looks though painting the eyes would be annoying as they're a part of the face rather than a separate piece like in modern HGs.
TBH I like this kit yes its old and it shows but i still love it and put the extra work its AMAZING that's what i did with mine and even with the assault shroud limiting the articulation I STILL LOVE IT along with Blitz Duel is my Face of the G units
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that I put the effort in as it looks a lot better for that. Though the new one is 100% gonna outclass this one despite its flaws
Just a Blu Duel and an Option Parts Set could fix this issue altogether. Tbe ground work between the Duel Blitz and Lightning Buster are laid out for conversion, and the first hint to just giving us an Option Parts Set is a look at the plates for the Buster's weapons included in the EG Gunbarrel Strike. Of course, this Duel is a cheaper alternative for a life hack that has to be done. And it's an intermediate level modding technique that relies on cutting a certain part off.
@@koweedate Somehow, a blog post showed the plates of the EG Gunbarrel Strike Gundam Breaker 4 Ver. and it possesses an O plate dedicated to newly released Option Parts Sets (not the stealth reissue kinds we recently got) in the Buster Weapons. It's a major hint that they might plan on releasing the original loadouts for the Duel and Buster as an Option Parts Set in the future, yet after two major release announcements, nothing.
i was wondering why the official freedom and Destiny I bought when I was a kid looked horrible. it didnt just had the technology to make good platsic mods at that time. I Though I bought a bootleg or something.

Those effect parts are limited run I think, as storefront freebies. They weren't included in the kit for sure

What always baffled me about the old HG SEED kits is how awkward or downright bad they are compared to HGUC kits from around the same time period
What's even more baffling is that the older 90s kits have better looks like HG Fighting Action Wing kits or the 1/144 Turn A ones

Apparently you can detach it's armor like the Assault Shroud armor have it as the regular Duel Gundam
