😍Hello, for those who do not know, FAOUZIA has just entered the competition of China Singer 2024, so you guys can go and see her performance, it was spectacular. First song she sang is CRAZY and the second is SET FIRE TO THE RAIN.
@@JenniferGlatzhofer I hope you can react tho her performances she did really good first week she took the second place and second week she took first place, her next presentation it’s going to be May 24.
Hi. Do you know how the competition works? I think it’s the first time I learn about such events. It’s really interesting. I wonder why she only does covers and not her original songs.
@@dilabakri I don't know much about it but what I've seen is that those who are going to compete in this TV program, it's because they were invited to participate, 7 artists sing per week, the audience that is present has the opportunity to vote and people who are apparently connected online. The public votes on the same day and at the end of the presentations they give the results and announce the first 3 places and then give the results of the other 4 artists but the one who has the lowest percentage in votes is the one who leaves the competition, and the others move on to the next round. And to fill in the space of the person who is leaving, they invite someone else and that's how it is for several weeks.
A vocal masterpiece on a Beethoven iconic masterpiece . Faouzia arranges and orchestrates her composition so methodically ,melodically and musically brilliant !! She took this classic and gave it new lyrical meaning ! Faouzia music is so artiscally crafted that mesmerizes and captivates your attentiin totally ! Her vocal control is phenomenal as she sings seamlessly and easily through all her registers ! Your breakdown and analysis Jenn as always is so informative and spot on ! I can see there was lots ro talk about ! I hope you react to more from Faouzia in the near future because this was real treat to listen to! Keep posting my friend and sending lots of thanks and love from across the pond. Take care 👍🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️
Every time she sings there are so many things involved, so much going on and she makes it sound like it's easy but then when you break it down you really understand the amount of talent it takes to do the things she does vocally.
Great 'unpack' of all the nuances here Jennifer. Absolutely stunning. It's exceedingly rare that the sheer beauty and skillful delivery of a voice will bring me both goosebumps & to tears! Faouzia always had this wonderful unique timbre, but has developed and matured so much - really blossoming into the very top tier of female vocalists internationally. I think / hope she is now breaking through into the worldwide recognition she deserves. Reactor channels like yours will i'm sure be part of that success. Of course being stunningly goodlooking also doesn't hurt! I was struck by the fluid way she 'conducts herself' with her hands - which is something the 'maestro'; Dimash also does. Which leads me to ponder; "What would a collaboration between these two artists look / sound like?!?" And would that be a good thing or not?
As others have said, she's participating in Singer 2024 now, with 2 rounds done. She finished 2nd in the first round with Crazy (Gnarls Barkley) and won the second round with Set Fire to the Rain (Adele). FWIW, she pronounces it FOE-zee-ah.
@@HolyParsival You'll find her other 3 competition songs on here as well - Set Fire to the Rain, Desert Rose and Paparazzi. ua-cam.com/video/O5yYIn0mlt0/v-deo.html
Thanks Jennifer for your superb reaction! yes, one of the wonders of this amazing artist is the fact that she's actually a multi-instrumentalist, which makes it a lot easier to compose and arrange... as we notice this version (FOR ME) is far superior than the Studio version
Thank you for reacting to this masterpiece by Faouzia. I didn’t even realize you hadn’t seen this version yet, the live version. I know you saw the official version a couple of months ago.
I think it's pre-recorded, i watched so many times and I paid a lot of attention on the mouth's movement and facial expressions and comparing to other videos of her singing live..idk. WHICH it doesn't matter cause it's ✨FAOUZIA✨ and we know this girl can sing for hooourrs like for real.. and I can't wait to see her sing this live "again" the song it's so pretty 🥹❤️
I was also thinking this seemed pre-recorded. Not that that takes away anything from her - she's a true standout as far as vocalists go, imo. Immensely talented.
I’m pretty sure it’s live, because why would Faouzia put live in the title if it wasn’t? Faouzia isn’t known for lip sync or being a liar. She probably just added reverb and pitch correction.
I'm pretty sure it's a live one-take audio track, synced to multiple live shot video clips or cuts taken over multiple consecutive session performances. This provides the editor with enough material to piece together a compelling video presentation. So, perhaps a third or so of the video was recorded along with the audio, while the remainder is back-filled by additional takes. It's not the recording engineer who's requiring multiple takes (listen for the plosives that a studio engineer would surely remove or ask for a retake). It's the video producer who needs more angles, motion and close-ups.
you've praised Faouzia so many times of her richness in her voice, and I would like to add the richness in your analysis. Well done Jenn. the historian tell us that Fur Elise (means "For Elise" in German) is a lady that Beethoven was in love with and proposed to marry him. In the same year he wrote the Bagatelle No. 25 (Fur Elise). But, she refused him. Some historian say, her real name was Theresa, but others say is a Soprano named Elizabeth, which sang in his concerts. he used Elise to mask her real name. I think Soprano over beauty would only make sense to me, for Beethoven breathed & lived music. Faouzia never took vocal lessons, but was classically trained pianist. My guess is her piano teacher assigned an essay about Fur Elise. That’s why the lyrics match the true story behind Beethoven's music. So she wrote the lyrics from Beethoven mind, expressing his feelings with music instruments and notes...since that’s all he knew. Notice how she hums at 1:22 matching the sound of Cello (which you pointed out). And matching her voice to the piano notes at 4:34. And, how she squats down as she say “Goes Down your spine”(u picked that too). Also, spinning, dancing, happy...thinking she’ll accept…ended up begging to accept his proposal after he heard her answer. There are more…she’s Genius! Bravo to u Jenn for picking all of them. I hope this little history help u appreciate Faouzia's lyrics that's associated to the story behind Fur Elise. She’s a great lyricist.

Interesting ... the song wasn't discovered and published until 40 years after Beethoven's death! Well let's carry on. Ahh ... elements of Beethoven's song but she's actually singing "play me like my name is Für Elise". Wait ... how low does she go on that little run? C#3? Did you notice how she dipped as she did it? And then you hit it! Yep it's on video, Jen hit a C#3! Well I enjoyed this one, she has a stunning voice! Faouzia ... 7 letters in her name and 5 are vowels! Anyway, great reaction and analysis as always Jen!

Can't you hear that this is completely pitch corrected, if not outright autotuned? You can also see it on a pitch monitor graph--it looks like square steps--everything is stuck flat to the pitch line, with some vibrato allowed. Her voice has been replaced with a synthetic robotic voice that doesn't exist in the real world. Please don't try to evaluate such recordings, because you are analyzing a synthetic voice.
Her recent performances on the Chinese singing contest "Singer" seem not to be pitch corrected, at least from listening, so that would be more accurate of her voice. At least from one song I heard by the contestant Chante Moore, Fire in the Rain (whom I wasn't familiar with, but she is a long time American R&B singer with a whistle register), she is better than Faouzia.
@@fredbloggs6080 It seems that Faouzia's singing skills are on a par with Chante's. But when she demonstrated her Western-meets-Oriental(Middle Eastern) vocal techniques on Desert Roses, I think Faouzia was the better singer, even though Chante had been on the R&B scene for about 10 years before Faouzia was born.
