If you hear her live you'll know it's actually live, which is insane.
Well what I can affirm that she sang that naturally without any editing, but also this was recorded and not live, in both cases she is stunning.
uhm no, this is not live. it's a shame because she sound much much better live. this performance you can clearly see that the sound doesn't match the video in specific places and sometimes even processed.
@@boaserpent Pretty sure what you're talking about could be the reverb/echo effect, if you watch the actual video you'll see it more clearly. some live singers add reverb and a touch of echo to enhance the dramatic effect of their voice. the last sentence in the song is sung without either of those and it makes it a bit more obvious that it is live. Usually, I wouldn't speak with such confidence about a singer singing live, but I watched her live the one time she came to my country, and trust me, her live vocals are literally the same (if not better) than studio recordings, you don't even hear the completely normal out of breath-ness situation that usually happens when singing live.

Saw her live in London, and can 100% confirm that the vocal intensity is always there in what looks like little effort from her, she can literally just sing like that and it is so magical! ✨
She has used this technique before. She records 2 or 3 live one-takes one after the other, then selects the best one to use for the cinematography. She admitted doing as much for her "live" pandemic concert in 2020. It allows for the best performance and the best edit for the video. So you're right... some of the clips are recorded live while others are cut in to suit the visual presentation, but the vocal performance is still a single one of the two or three tracks recorded.
She's Moroccan, so the middle eastern riff is right on point.
These are just a few elements of her singing. Her singing contains largely non-Middle Eastern influences as well

It's Middle Eastern-ISH , Morocco is way more diverse and it has some very ancient Amazighi influenced elements in her voice and runs along with the Arabic and Andalusian ones of course

I think it’s Live, simply because she never is off key even in her concerts, which is hard to do. Plus she is honest and straightforward. 🎵tell me that she’s never going to lie🎵🎵

I absolutely love Faouzia as an artist, she is incredible ! And I totally agree with you : the vocals are live but the whole thing isn't live. I think she does that a lot where she records a couple videos that editors edit together and chose one live audio to put on top. So yeah a lot of times the body doesn't match the vocal intensity etc... I've seen a lot of other artists do that as well to have a more "lively" video I guess. But the sound is still one and was sang live 😇
i still believe this is processed and edited in certain spots. big difference with the corona concert and the arab heritage concert. there i coudn't hear "processed/edited" parts

Just because i can't sing like her, i won't judge that this isn't live. We all know Her skill of singing is that extremely exquisite
some of us , do not need to make faces when we go to high notes , because it's still in a range that is easy to reach. ppls get very impressed by this when they see us singing live effortlessly - you can hear that she is singing live specially at the end.
I agree with Sam that she's singing against her recording here. (It's all her voice, though, of course.) I'd prefer she did the whole performance live, but it's her decision as artist to present it as she likes. I'm a huge fan of hers, so this doesn't detract from my opinion of her skills at all.

I suspect you want to hear her live so you should check out her online concerts. My favorites are the Amazon Live show and her Live for Arab Heritage. You should just react to each song in those concerts! The Stripped Live concert and the Abu Dhabi live concert are great too!

😍Hello, for those who do not know FAOUZIA has just entered the competition of China I am a Singer 2024, so you guys can go and see her performance, it was spectacular that was on May 10.
Stunning voice! Hearing so many influences, blended uniquely into her own 'stamp' [ Adele - Eilish - Sade - and sooooo many more! ] So nuanced, fluid, expressive. Sooooo skillful.
{ Dare I say it....? Could it be possible that - placed on stage together -Faouzia and Dimash might be in the same highly rarified league?!? } As for fame... to my mind; a couple of well placed performances on some very popular Late Night 'US Talk Shows would blow everyone out of the water!

I love Faouzia - pronounced Foe-Zee-Uh - and I recommend any of her live performances. Her pitch is so amazing. it’s definitely sung live in one take, but she records several back to back live takes and uses the one with the best shots for cinematography, and then they take the their favorite audio from the takes and overlay it on the video. Bet pitch is what gets me. I checked it on a pitch application, it’s off here and there by 5 cents at most, but most notes are wavering in and out of dead center - it’s wild! With software, it locks onto the center and stays there. But she’s 100% listening and adjusting her pitch real time. #Skill
Also, I recommend you checkout Jamie Hannah’s song Flowers - his low notes are beautiful!

Faouzia is INCREDIBLE. its interesting you mentioned her middle-eastern style, as she is Canadian/Moroccan. I agree, I don't think this is "live" as such, but I do believe it's one of her "one takes". She has done a few over the years. Take a look at her "The Eye" performance of Hero for example. But definitely check out a lot more of her live performances. She is INSANE. (Warning; you will become a Faouzia Stan 😂)

I love your analysis and reaction! I recommend Tears of Gold (Stripped), Minefields with John Legend live on Kelly Clarkson's show, and Elon which is her last number from her stripped concert which she blessed us with during lockdown. Oh and Blue. You won't believe what she can do with that one hit wonder just sitting in her bedroom singing. A revelation.
im learning towards heavily edited but still live. this has been bugging everytime i watch because the vocals dont match and are tbh INSANE. but she posted clips live from the room. i think its multiple takes and heavily edited (maybe taking some video clips different from the audio clips)

Great reaction! I agree with you, the majority of this is not live, but the VERY last part I think IS live. And a few other sections as well. Regardless, she has an absolutely incredible voice. I see people in the comments say that she sounds better live, which obviously is THE hallmark of any extraordinary singer, just like MY personal female singer, Angelina Jordan. Faouzia's such great vocalist live but I also feel she's not actually singing all in this video. might be recorded live before or a blending. I've noticed that her life official performance videos are usually not live with both audio and video together. I've heard videos of her concerts tho and she's incredible, can't wait to go to her concert some day🪄🤞🏻

You aren't the first voice coach to compare Faouzia and Dua Lipa.
Not sure how you can compare Dua and Fauozia. I like them both, but Fauozia is the vocal gold standard Dua will never reach. Dua sells a lot of records because of utilizing sex appeal and being showy. Fauozia relies on her voice, no showing of skin. I'm not judging either, just stating obvious.

On the not really live you are very very probably right. This sounds a bit too much processed and a few parts sounded slightly pitch-corrected for me so I checked with a pitch monitor. No expert on this, but it looked very suspicious to me. But that is probably the norm nowadays to run Melodyne over all pop productions, whether the artist needs it or not. Sigh. I'd have preferred a rawer recording.

The same goes for anyone in any industry. For example, when Naomi Campbell couldn't pronounce Versace after decades of working in fashion industry. Mediocrity...hate it
Fouzia is only 23 years old, still attends school for engineering something she said was very important to her Parents who are both Moroccan, I have a feeling that singing is her passion and she is a true artist, if she becomes main stream she will lose her creative rights and might be pushed to be commercial and even made to put out music she doesn’t like since she writes and composes her own music..
