i have a bishop's chair from Ninove, Belgium (1600, date is on it with the Abbey info) but it's loaded with holes throughout the legs, and it's stained almost black. Would you use this technique on hundreds of holes or would a wood filler be best? and use a wood hardener prior? the chair is stunning but i'm afraid to sit on it with that amount of bug damage in the legs...
I'll need to remember this - beats the heck out of the "just mix sawdust and PVA, then..." approach!

I's probably inject it with coloured resin
