I paid a plumber $800 to replace my laundry taps with these. Since then I've been told by other plumbers I got ripped off and now I'm DIY'ing everything I can with the help of videos like this. Thanks mate!
Hey Mark, is it dripping into the tub? If so.. it’s the furthest washer from the tap that’s worn. Turn your mains off, use a spanner to undo the tap, and replace the washer/valve - it’s the washer at the opposite end to the tap. It’ll be very easy to remove 👌 Best of luck mate, Kent
thanks so much ,see how some one else does the job ,,makes my life so much easier ,,,.just tip 4 u ,,you can get these very cheap thin sockets to remove tap bodys from behind tiles ect
Hi Kent, Thank you for that. I need to replace both my washing machine taps and the laundry trough taps & spout. I'm assuming it'll be the exact same process for both?
Hey PG, if you already have separate w/machine and tub taps I would just keep it that way, if it’s just one set of taps that service both then yes, go for it👌 All the best, Kent
Really my laundry taps is leaking I need to know how to open tap to repair 😊I am really appreciate it to show how can fix this laundry tap 🙏 thanks for concern happy new year 🎊🎊🎊
This is a job you can do yourself Sherry. Follow these steps👍 - turn water off, - Open tap to release water pressure from plumbing, - Leave tap open, - Remove washing machine hose from tap, - Use an adjustable spanner to remove tap from wall plumbing by the nut at rear of tap, turning anticlockwise, - Remove valve from rear of tap and replace with a new one the same size, - Install tap using new fibre washer or thread seal tape, - Close tap, turn on water. Let me know how you get on, best of luck. Kent
Thanks for your caring dear🙏I will try 👌hope works for me.i want to fix because last time plumber changed cold water tap and charge me a lot of money 😔anyway 🙏
If the taps/seals are older? It may need replacement washers and o'ring, sometimes removing the tap and flushing out any grit that's found its way around the washer, check for breaks or cracks to the tap body, and corroded valve seat needs re-seating if those fail. Good luck - let me know how you get on👍
I have went through 2 sets of these taps but they always leak and drip, have installed new seats and they still leak Ahhrrrrrrr!!! after a few years and I cant find the right replacement washers. I dont want to pay a hundred dollars every few years.
Bunnings have a kinetic washer kit I/N: 4920395 for $6.86 - says for a "Dorf" Washing Machine Conversion Tap might be worth a try. Fixatap do one too Fixatap 209269- I agree this style conversion tap is problematic because of all the seals required. Used this style over 15 yrs and up to my third repair/replace. Just noticed a style "Mildon" at Mitre 10 - $108 these look better as dont have the swivel connection for washing machine , but have to buy as either Right or Left set. Looks like a tap in a tap and I think this style will last longer.

The taps have the washer as part of the assembly, correct? So you don’t need to add a washer? Thanks
That's right mate.
Hi, will this work where there's a separate hot and cold taps rather than the mixer ones? Ta
Hi vhayi, yes this is what they are designed for... Perfect!
I have a mixer tap is it still possible to run my washing machine
Hey Rosemary, unfortunately not with this style of tap. Best of luck with an alternative option. Kent
