Doug was and still is my favorite Nicktoon. Growing up, my older brother and best friend both loved it too, but I have heard some people criticize the show for being boring. But the fact that the show was pretty simplistic is one of the things that appeals to me most about it. That and Fred Newman. Doug had such an incredible soundtrack.I didn't like the Disney version though. :/
While my friends were watching Sailor Moon and Power Rangers I was watching Doug and Rugrats... Same time slot in New Orleans... No worries.. I changed the channel for DBZ... good ol days☹
I don’t think Doug’s infatuation with Pattie was necessarily unrequited. She seemed to really like him back actually. Unfortunately, Doug never really had the confidence to let her know how he felt.
He's right. Most people don't end up with their highschool crush, and if they do it doesn't last. It's completely realistic that Doug wouldn't end up with Patty in the end, which is why that thread was never resolved.
Awesome Behind The Scenes Look About Nickelodeon's Doug. Maybe Next Year In 2021. Nickelodeon Is Announced That The Classic Children's Cartoon Television Series Doug Celebrate It's 30th Birthday. Thanks Mate. X
He doesn’t see Doug and patti together because it’s not realistic? Because Most people don’t end up with their first love? Most people don’t have a dog that can skateboard, cut the grass and listen to a stereo with headphones on Jenkins. Also it’s a cartoon!
I know this phrase has been done to death, but I grew up watching this show, yet I was well and truly today years old when I found out that the voice of Doug and Roger is Billy West, who also did Stimpy, Phillip j Fry, and the red M&M
Hmm the last line in this video could be an idea for a Doug return (kinda like how they're making a one hour Rocko special). Doug reunion type episode where Patti introduces her husband. But what has Doug been up to these past 10-15 years?
When Doug moved to ABC family. I only watched a few episodes here and their but I never got into it. Watching it on Disney+ I say to myself I would have watched more of it had it have stayed on Nickelodeon. By 1999 when the Doug movie hit theaters I was already 12 and felt too old for it. Giving that a watch on Disney + I call it Doug's first and last movie.

Ah the memories, loved this show! Never thought about who the colorful characters were supposed to represent, just thought they were all colorful people. Some had more sass than others. Also my mom pronounced Doug as Duuog, prolong the u, she didn't speak much english, I still say it that way. haha
In my opinion, the show even though it was fiction and a cartoon taught me a lot as a child. Far as the situation with Doug and Patti helped me deal with rejection at that time where most men can deal with it today.
Daycow045 He definitely does in my book. He’s an underrated gem. People rarely say how amazing he was in the show. They’re always saying how awesome Skeeter, Mr. Dink or Roger were. And while I liked those characters (except for Roger, I can’t stand him), Porkchop honestly has the most character out of (at least) almost all of the characters of the show. He honestly deserves more credit because he’s such s fantastic character.
Hm. I can see that. I think that's what made the series so awesome is it left such details about the character so open that their feature were open to interpretation and their personalities shown more. Some see him as Black, some Hispanic, some don't see him as either or anything but you can't deny he's the friend we all wanted.
I agree with your latter comment. As for your Gen-X vs Millennial comparison, that's debatable. I say that because most Gen-Xer's were no younger than 13 by the time Doug came out, and they were acquiring a more adult-themed taste then (that said, I know of some younger ones that were 12, 11, or maybe 10 but that's cutting it close, and they were into it too). Meanwhile, the show was aimed at a much younger, family audience, since it came on a network geared for kids (ages 6-10; 2-5 in terms of Nick Jr.).
Either you don't want to be a Millenial or just haven't looked up what the dates are millennials range from 80s to late 90s to 2000. Gen x would have all been over 20 years old when this show first aired
Alex Oborne It’s not up to Nickelodeon to bring it back. Disney still owns the rights to the show and won’t give it up. Even though they’re not planning anything new with the show at all despite Jim Jinkins having plans for a revival. It honestly pisses me off because Doug is such an underrated classic. And considering how many shitty cartoons we’ve gotten throughout this past decade alone (especially the dreaded Teen Titans Go), I would REALLY love for Disney to give back the rights of Doug to Nickelodeon if they’re not going to do anything new with the show at all. I mean, what the hell is the point of keeping the rights to a franchise if you’re not going to do anything new with it?
Which other shows from your childhood would you like us to feature?
Did everyone forget about cow and chicken looper?!
Looper Snorks, Smurts, and Gummi Bears.just to name a few.
Legend of the hidden temple
Gummi Bears and Hey Arnold
what about that old show on Nick called KaBlam I always thought that show was odd but I LOVED it
Got to admit I watched this when I was younger. 90s kids knows what's up.
Ah man, say it proudly man. Kids today have nothing as good as Doug to watch!
Come on RocksModernLife was lit and Hey Arnold....Oh and Ahhhh!!! Real Monsters lol but Doug was my shi too always tryna smash Patty Mayonnaise
Yup. 1989 right here. We had the best shows.
@@TheSmilodon85 Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout !
The 90s tv in general was better.

Boshi Yoshi It was such a great show, it was more on the subtle side, it was funny but not in an obvious comical way. I loved it!
I still watch it lol and I’m 36 😬 😂
Doug, Sponge Bob and Ren and Stimpy. The rest are meh.
@@daverichards9141 I respectfully disagree.
People that say Doug is boring are people that like random bs that isn't part of a story
What a throwback, used to love Doug.
While my friends were watching Sailor Moon and Power Rangers I was watching Doug and Rugrats... Same time slot in New Orleans... No worries.. I changed the channel for DBZ... good ol days☹
Yup lmfao I did the same when DBZ came on Cartoon Network although I banged with the original Power Rangers but not after lol
I never got into Rugrats; it pissed me off how popular it was on Nickeldoeon
I been watching on toonami fuck yeah those bumpers and tom speeches
No Ren and Stimpy?
I watched doug at the time of power rangers
I actually like to think Doug and Patti ended up together. She liked to flirt with Doug and always seemed to reciprocate his feelings for her
She just hated other girls
In my head Skeeter is a cool black friend
when life was so much less triggered... getting up for saturday cartoons lol
Now they can just watch cartoons on UA-cam or KimCartoon
I miss old Saturday Disney🙂
Life was much more simple and society much less outraged over everything back in the 90’s. It was a much more harmonious and happy time.
@@The2FRANKGRIMES he is now on paramount plus ( formerly CBS all access)
I absolutely LOVED this show as a kid. I didn't really care much for the Disney version, though.
I get all nostalgic when pondering about my years from 6-11 (90-96). Those were the years.
You could use that for a criticism on The Butterfly Effect
Most people don't but there certainly are a good amount that do
I am still with my highschool sweetheart. 13th anniversary is coming up. I do think it is less common though.
I'm 35, so even at 13 I would watch this on Nick (sinister we now know) anyway Nostalgia running through my mind.

Well, you've now told the untold truth! Which was just facts about Doug. At least you didn't title it "The Dark Truth Behind Doug."
I used to have a crush on Doug's sister, Judy.
Areguil + Lol..Yeah Judy was Hot
Roger had a crush on Judy and he got played in front of everyone at the Honker Burger with her dramatic acting.
Why?
Doug is the type of guy to remain in the friend zone
Bro he's that type get fed up and become cold 💓 and treat women like shit then gets laid. Damm I really went in on a cartoon.
Doug is never going to give patty his mayonnaise!
Giving a doug score.
Burrito Man Mr finally somebody actually got the joke
Poor Dougie is forever alone.
This is still my favorite Nicktoon and one of my all-time favorite shows ever. ❤
I guess we forgot Doug finally got that date at the real end of Doug's story
Yup. Cool that they left it at that.
Keep up with the nostalgia looper I'm loving it😍😍

I relate to the three-dimensional title character so much.

Disney is the death of Doug :'(
Who remembers that old Disney Doug ripoff?
it wasn't a ripoff, it was a spinoff.
Heck there were even comics in Disney Adventures!
The original run on Nickelodeon was the best. I couldn’t get into the new revamp version.
I definitely saw myself in Doug as a young kid.
Me too

Well...At least we got Arnold and Helga get together in the end.
That chicken was dry...real dry.

Doug was one of the original 3 Nicktoons that premiered in the summer of 1991.
When I was a kid I new a girl that looked exactly like patty mayonnaise & she was super cute 😂
Me too when I was a kid I always loved it when she says “Oh, Doug”. That turned me on.
I loved this series...
doug was voiced by billy west, who also voiced phillip j fry who also had a tradition of naming their sons yancy in his family
I watched this so much back when I was super insecure with girls... Good ol times!

The show first aired in 1991. Millenials are considered to be born in 1984 and beyond. The show is 27 years old dummy.
Sad that Doug and Patti didn't end up together. I could be wrong but it seems like he never told her about his feelings.🧐
I think Doug should be on Tooned in even Porkchop and the outher Doug Characters.
