Well, I find myself eating humble pie, I laughed when you mentioned West Cork for the County at the start of the season. Yet I have backed him each way at 33/1 for the race the other day for the County. He's jumped like a bag of spanners all season, and I would definitely say you were far too early to get involved, but looks a good bet now at the prices.
I was correct about how things would unravel. And I had to put something up early to get the videos started in September. The serious betting comes nearer the week and these bets are just for charity each year.
The Skelton's do mess about with entries but do like a go in the handicaps. I will be happy just to have West Cork running in the race, as I know they will be having a go to win it.
Agree 100% on Honeysuckle not going for her 3rd Champion hurdle.. Could turn out to be one of the most disastrous decisions ever made... Only a few lengths behind Stateman and untried against Constitution Hill... Just mind blowing....🙈
I would loved to have seen Honeysuckle try regain the crown however ultimately I’m glad she is getting a run around Cheltenham before bowing out rather than just retiring
Missed that engagement but now entered on 17th . I like the Skelton / County hurdle angle . Had already backed Pikar , now added West Cork 28/1 NRNB 5 places
True, still shocking from on GD @ 2 miles. Look at how other 2 milers performed on GD ground in spring that then stepped up to the stayers. Penhill, Nichols Canyon, Faugheen. Never would be consistently tailed off at 2 miles on ground with GD in the description. He wouldn’t be carrying my money.

Maybe, but that's just racing chit chat. Dont take any notice of that. I cant see why he would skip the festival in a race he has a chance in. And does he go on the solid ground you can get at Aintree?
@@martincolwell3446 . Yes , entered in Grand National trial , where he could lose that lb . I personally like Indigo Breeze for the race . Mistake at crucial stage in DRF ended his chance . Well handicapped when looking at The Real Whacker race in Nov .
Martin, do you know that bookies aren’t the only people who govern prices for racing? Your theory that a group of people sit down and decide to trick punters and tell pundits who to tip in order to influence the market seems far-fetched. The existence of exchanges means prices are determined rather solely by punters.
Certain pundits influence a volume of punters, which cause punters to back certain horses regardless of value. This may well be done via exchanges and bookmakers. I am not going to name them obviously. But I know this happens. I hope that makes my point clearer?

Would love it if you went back to the format of last year with regular updates and going through all the races. Cheers
I dont get the time anymore due to work volumes and keeping an eye on my old mum. I will pick up on all races for the next video though.

I would retire her rather than waste her time in the Mares Hurdle, a race that she has already won in 2020.

But she would have got more of a cheer running in the Champion Hurdle if that was the case. The Mares Hurdle is a non event.
Nassalam such a cert for ultima if he goes
I do like Nassalam but her odds are not dropping and so no point backing her yet.
@@martincolwell3446 ya true it’s a waiting game with nassalam don’t have to rush in just one to keep an eye on
Looks like West Cork is back over hurdles. Entered 4.10 Huntingdon on 9th Feb
Yes, the trainer has seen sense. We may be back on.

Just saw PP only 10/1 West Cork . Awful value in all markets with that firm . Bet365 so much better , especially now offering 5 places
@@davidcoffey8542 The horse will not run well until the festival whatever type of race it runs in. A plot job.
Do you watch other racing podcasts ?
I watch Road To Cheltenham to see what Ruby thinks. I also watch Upping The Ante for the Craic. But no others, too much gets confusing.
What about Klassical Dream for the Stayers should give a good account for you’re money already won there
A bit in and out for me, but if she went off 8/1 or better I may get involved?
Teahupoo form on any Ground with Good in the name:
6th of 6
10th of 10

People get too excited about a horse needing mud or concrete ground. A good horse goes on any ground. We shall see, I am happy at 11/1 each way.
Martin, you could back Gerri Colombe for the BANC, as he hasnt qualified for the NHC (not finished first 4 in a 2M7.5F+ Chase) 👍
I will wait until closer to the race and be clearer on where the horse is going?
Last I heard Corach Rambler is skipping Cheltenham with the Grand National his season target

Worried about Marie’s rock going to stayers?
I dont think that will happen if the current market favourites stand their ground. But if the field weakens then maybe.
