Lads I may regret the statement after the weekend but I honestly believe that Stateman will beat Honeysuckle and if that’s the case on collateral form from his last race it could be a Mullins forecast 1,2. Vauban was massively impressive given that was his first run back, he looks to have improved significantly. My heart would love the mare to win, but I think as in many races at the Festival this season we are going to be witnessing a changing of the guard in some races such as the Champion hurdle and the Stayers with the older more established horses being upstaged. If we use Sharjah as a yardstick at level weights in both the Mathewson where he was beaten over nine lengths into third that compares against only 6 lengths in last years Champion Hurdle.🤔. Good show as ever. Stateman will be in a shorties treble I will have with Facile Vega and Lossiemouth. Good luck with your selections fellas.
State Man is obviously a brilliant horse, this is clearly his biggest test to date on the weekend and we can’t wait to see it. Potentially his jumping could be found out in this tougher assignment, however, Honeysuckle’s recent display of jumping wasn’t exactly electric. Some clash 🔥
@@onlyfoolslovehorsesracing the biggest test for me is giving this brilliant mate 7lb if he can do that well he’s a worthy contender for the Freak in six weeks time , he can’t beat CH though obviously. Yes some clash can’t wait. Good hunting.
Well the distance almost completely worked out based on the collateral form 9-6 = 3 and Stateman won by nearly 5. I think given another run Vauban would beat Honeysuckle by a couple of lengths given he’s still learning on the job, all academic now though as she’s probably going to the Mares!!!
