Maybe I should have added that I'm working alphabetically in terms of locations? So he has most locations starting between A and M (at this point). Also, he will pay for visiting specific locations, it's not a periodical thing added to him. :)

@@highmaintenance7879 That's certainly in the planning for investigation, once all of his main content is done. (After finishing the Commonwealth and the DLC's). I do hope all of his functions could be translated to the Xbox (as I have no experience in that area). But when the time comes I'll make sure to try to partner up with some modders that could help out in that regard. ;)

Possible theory:
Depending on how The Courier deals with the Think Tank at Big Mountain, he would help them explore the outside world without leaving the Big Empty. And maybe his last project was to create an Eye Bot to help scout far off locations like The Commonwealth.
Or its another Institute side project, one that Father worked on to help their parents when they'd leave Vault 111.
The posible return of the OG think tank would be intresting, imagine if this mod expanded into a DLC cized experience
It would be interesting to see who the think tank and the Institute would reacts to one another

Why would it be the Courier's LAST project? Though given I think just about everybody grabbed ED-E on their way through Primm, and (spoilers) the presence of another very heroic version of him in the Divide, Eyebots would definitely be at the top of his list if he ever needed a robot for....well, anything.
MAKES since that the Courier would suggest EYEBOTS to the think-tank.

I'm very certain that the Think tank he is referring to, is the Think tank of Big mountain in the Old worlds dlc in fallout new Vegas.
I don’t think so the Think tank darryl is talking about is dedicated to the preservation of history while the Think tank of Big mountain were dedicated to science and the creation of technology to help improve the world

I agree. I thought briefly it could be Institute tech, but Darryl has emotions, opinions,etc and the Institute disapproves of giving those to their synths. So they wouldn't give them to Darryl. Now, while the Think Tank is of a more scientific bent rather than interested in preserving history, two things come to mind:
Ulysses asked them "who are you that do not know your history?" so maybe they're trying to find out
Or
Darryl is just saying it's to collect knowledge and history, and they're really probing for weaknesses in the commonwealth.
Nah, the think tank was never about preserving history, like what Darryl says. So it's gotta be a different think tank.

That was my first thought, too.
Nobody, but absolutely nobody speaks with such love and fascination about Fallout than Oxhorn - I've always had a thing for open worlds, but when I watch this type of content, it makes the experience so much deeper and more meaningful. Thank you Oxhorn - your incredibly well spoken and wonderfully intelligent commentary is truly fantastic.

I love it! This is a reference to Mass Effect 2, when asking to endorse the stores on the Citadel in exchange for a discount with a certain amount of paragon, Shepard will say "I am Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite store on the Citadel." And funny enough, you can abuse this mechanic at every shop, which I sure as heck did! 🦊🦊💜🦊🦊

I love this mod. I'd like a mod to this mod where its an Oxhorn NPC. Giving a full history of a place with link's to his channel. While during combat he stands off to the side and smokes a cigar as if the fight is beneath him.

Please cover the Storyteller mod! It’s kinda similar, and adds new Power Armor!
So excited to see you covering mods again! Really curious, since you have covered so much in Fallout 4 and made multiple playthroughs, would you consider playing a heavily modded playthrough, but with aestethic/lore friendly mindset? Like weapons from previous games, companions that feel right in the game, new world spaces that don't mess with the lore (like subway runner), or survival mods, or even something way out there like a Frost playthrough? It has lore that i feel like you would be awesome at covering (even if it isn't technically lore canon)
Clearly a Mass Fusion, Eyebot, has the paint scheme and logo along with a jingle and company advertising, I look forward to using it very well thought out, I hope Oxhorn has a video playthrough with this character.
The 1st thing I would do after hearing that jingle is going to the mass fusion building link to see if I can find the think tank. That dialog at hubris comics I think was a mass effect 2 reference.
I think DARRYL is apart of the institute who are major scientists who make robots with feelings and with white and red as a popular coloring

I just rebuilt my computer after the motherboard died and fried the processor, and I have yet to rebuild my steam library, this video and this mod inspired me to get back into fallout 4 after hesitating for a couple weeks. Love the Mass Effect reference. Speaking of, Oxhorn, have you considered doing lore videos on Mass Effect? It’s rich in history and it’s one of my favorite sci-fi universes.
This mod is so cool and I'm doing a playthrough currently with it installed. I would like if the mod author was able to work a voice actor in the future to read the lines, but it is a lot considering there's thousands of them. Otherwise it's great and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Wouldnt Think Tank be that Big MT place from New Vegas? One of the endings does say that the Courier returned to it to help advance technology and bring it back to the world to help improve lives, maybe this eyebot is one of the early ways the robots and courier at Big MT used to gather information around the US to accurately create needed technology and know what to work on first?

The scientists decided to stay in the big empty so it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to say that they would use machines to observe and learn about the outside world. What’s more of a mystery is how they have agents on the east coast.

Some years ago i installed a mod that let u have a eye bot as a companion, i named it by D1L4N.
I was tired to walk with companions that engage combat for no reason, so D1L4N was a good companion,
it did not talks, just beeps and the Sole Survivor oftens says something back that let u imagine what the conversation was about.
Darryl mod makes me remember about D1L4N. Good memories.
Wondering if you have heard of a couple mods, Fourville, Danceola, Races-Which is a memory pod experience you can race three different race tracks, and visit prewar Sanctuary where you can interact and go to work and go to the store or red rocket, and then there is another mod almost like DLC size, Where you time travel to a 1930's location, time tunnel is near diamond city. Can't remember the name of this one but you can also purchase cars, and rive them, you can also go on various quests. I think they are gonna put more voice actors in it and make it more like the game and a very immersive mod as time travel goes.
I take it "D.A.R.R.Y.L" is a reference to D.A.R.Y.L. and "End of line" is one for TRON

Hey Ox, any chance of you checking out Undernier's mods that revamp some of the commonwealth settlements to give them new structures, stories, and enemies to fight? His work is especially impressive, given its exclusive use of ingame assets, making these detailed mods exist even on PS4.
I personally think his Starlight Prison Camp Horror Adventure is the best of the bunch, creating a really interesting new area to explore, weaving in several existing bits of lore to build a story off of, plus the added functionality he gives the settlement is a nice reward for the challenge. Great vid, Ox!

You should do the storyteller mod there are 2 one as a companion the other where it’s a mission to mariposa
I do think Diamond City lore size is larger than what we see in game. For starters, there are 4 guards patrolling the streets around the park and 2 more including Danny in the gate itself, then there are 4 more patrolling the market and farm with 1 more in the upper stands and 1 more in the mayor's office, and there's another in the school and no less than 3 in the jail. That's a total of 16 guards, granted only Danny is named and the only security guard we know of who has a name. But 16 guards is a lot for a single shift. Assuming they aren't synthetic and do need to sleep, we can assume that at minimum they have a day and night shift, but probably more. So 32 guards if things are even, or 31 if Danny doesn't have a night shift counter part. The highest percentage of law enforcement to standard citizens any society has ever had was during the old kingdom period of Ancient Egypt where approximately 10 percent of the population was charged with security and law enforcement. That would mean at that same rate, diamond city would house about 300 to 350 people which even then sounds rather small for a massive stadium. Remember, diamond city is NOT self sustaining and relies on food from traders. What little food is grown in the city is for public programs and for emergency stores when the gate is closed. If you want to get crazy. The United States has a drastic difference of just 800,000 full time law enforcement for a population of 340 million people. That's 0.2 percent of the population. But that's a little low and the US isn't as compact or crime ridden nation wide as it is in the big cities. Boston as of right now has just shy of 2,150 sworn police officers and a population of of 684,000. Thats slightly higher at 0.3 percent of the population of modern day Boston. With that same figure, Diamond city would have a population of over 10,000! Now that is way too many. Not because there isn't space for them, but because there isn't enough space for sewage, and fresh food/water. Even All the farms in the commonwealth couldn't support that population while also supporting their own. Considering that diamond city has very few jobs, reminiscent of more ancient societies that have yet to diversify with larger populations and more abundant resources, we can assume that a larger portion of the population will be in various jobs otherwise under staffed. Also, considering extra threats, we can safely assume that more people would be tasked with security than other wise would be. Now we can right off all the normal named characters we know, the upper stands and mayor's office characters number at 8 or 9 depending on your choices in game. The market has another 10, plus the water market in the back. So 11 Then there's the school which has 2 employees. We are already up to 22 and we are just doing named characters. Then there's the inn(3), radio(1), wall(1), science center(2), newspaper(2), mega surgery(1), detectives agency(2), and that one merchant bot in the market at night(1), that's another 13 named characters. 13+22+32 total security is 67. With security being half the population. But we know that diamond city has no less than half a dozen trade caravans that come through bringing food, some of which are actually based in diamond city as it's a trade hub, not a trade destination. And we know that there are countless NPCs ranging from construction workers to mercs to whatever needs doing. Even if diamond city needs more security than most, I think a Canon size of 300 to 400 citizens seems correct especially considering the resources needed to fortify they stadium the way we see it and the sheer number of people needed to keep the place running. Also, we know there's a town council that is off screen because after the mayor is exposed, the town council runs the city without the mayor because the people aren't ready for an election. That implies that elections in DC are drawn out and hotly debated, but also resource intense and time consuming based on the number of people. We saw in our own time that in Athens, it was able to run just fine with up to 3000 voting citizens but as the city grew, democracy became difficult because even getting everyone to meet was difficult. I think if someone said DC had around 300 to 400 people, it would justify the absurd attention it gets. Goodneighbor has nearly the same on screen population with over a dozen guards and a little over half a dozen vendors but we are given the feel that despite how crowded the place is, it is still a very small town by comparison. Goodneighbor feels like 1 street of rowhouses all living together while diamond city is given the treatment of a massive metropolis by comparison, but if it only had 50 people, it wouldn't be that big of a deal. Hell, we've seen raider gangs larger than that in nuka world. But even they see diamond city as this grand prize of civilization that even they can't match until after they've defeated the rest of the parks and conquered much of the commonwealth.

So interesting development Oxhorn. I'm playing through Fallout 4, and I got DARRYL with me. Just entered the Institute for the first time, just met Father/Shaun. And I just noticed DARRYL came in with me.
There's a mod called the codex was made by another fallout chaps the storyteller specifically it's a holotape that let's say you kill a death claw it'll now have a entry on deathclaws or locations it has everything it'd this mod on steroids but without the eyebot
Just curious, but have you seen any mods for fallout 4 that add the aircraft from the runway deck at Rivet City as a settlement decoration? I know some add the Stingrays and one that adds the plane from New Vegas, but I have wanted to find the ones from fallout 3 to make a airfield settlement, like they are trying to get the different aircraft working again.

I'm pretty sure you're aware of it already, but if you want another lore friendly companion mod, check out Heather Casdin. Her story is tied into the lore quite nicely, and she has occasional interactions with NPCs.
