I think sadly that Bryce has departed us. I think he probably had a psychotic break brought on by the medication, and I'm afraid that he g hitched a ride with a trucker and got off somewhere and wandered away and found a place where he took his own life. I pray not, but that is my fear.

His brain was clearly foggy, especially with the sleep deprivation. Where did he go after abandoning the wrecked vehicle? He just disappeared. My heart goes out to Bryce’s family.
I really suspect it's a combination of existing issues combined with the vyv anse. I have audhd and it really messes with task initiation, meds can help but they can also cause other issues, like extreme focus on the wrong thing. A lot of us just sit in our cars and can't force ourselves to start doing something else (we do the equivalent in other areas like the bathroom/bathtub, computer desk etc but cars and bathrooms are very very very common partly because they're private and usually relatively quiet). There's even something called autistic catatonia, like a catastrophic inability to initiate tasks. (These can be a result of au/dhd burnout/trauma not necessarily just autism/adhd, btw.) Even if he didn't have au/dhd or another condition, like schizophrenia, that can cause similar issues, the meds interfere with that initiation system. Oh and I'm not saying he was/is audhd or anything, at all, he probably wasn't. I'm just talking about experiences among my community with similar issues and meds

I know it's hard for family and friends to accept that someone may want to die or disappear or both but it's very common if you're struggling with your mental health. There doesn't need to be a big "reason" or any reason that makes sense to anyone. When you're suffering in the thick of it, you can't really be rationalized with. I've had multiple attempts through my life. Sometimes the push was as simple as feeling talked down to or like i wasn't needed. People would say "oh you have kids who need you" and my response would be "they don't need a mother whose a mess this is better for them" bc you really can't push a rational thought on someone in that headspace. I had a psychologist once who suggested i take up kayaking. In that moment it was the absolute dumbest thing someone could've said. My (cruel) response was "die tomorrow and your kayak will still go kayaking and won't miss you at all". My own experience to say i think this young man is gone. He likely felt "free" for the first time being clean (according to the police) and on the road. Going home (to ppl who would help and make this feeling go away) was not an option. He drove off that cliff thinking it was the end, when it wasn't he either wandered off and died from his injuries or he hitched a ride. Heck, he could've had a burner phone and had wasted all that time for the person who owned it to meet him. Possibly with money or an id. The worse thing one could do in assessing him is to think that if he was in some sort of mental health crisis than he wouldn't be capable of doing other planning etc and at least in my experience, it's often the opposite as you feel extreme clarity and calmness. I do hope he's ok out there and happy but his determination makes me think he's likely gone. Whatever the case, i hope his family is able to find peace in the idea that he was seeking his own peace and he's found it one way or the other. 🙏
People who don't get it don't get it. Those signs that say YOU ARE LOVED, DON'T GIVE UP, WE CARE ABOUT YOU or whatever are a perfect example. They'll still be there saying we love you, even if I am gone lol. Seeing them makes me feel worse.

My grandpa did it when my mom was six, my cousin did it when I was 9. It's literally everywhere. If a professional can't tell, a parent can't. It's sad, bit it's true BC as parents we don't ever want to think our kids may feel that way.
Oh I've heard this case before, the parents should have driven to Bryce and I'm sure many of you parents would do just that, but no they relied on a stranger to check on there young son. Mental health is not as understood as it should be, professional help is so hard to come by, and many have to pay for that themselves, which is expensive and not always possible, ilicit substances cause more harm than good. I hope there are answers for the disappearance of young Bryce soon.
I've had problems with the parents since i heard this story. How reckless and in denial do they have to be to not go get their son and rely on others? I feel like there's something off about the parents
@@oscarramirez2697, so I am from the Chicagoland area like Bryce. Naperville is a very wealthy suburb of Chicago with a median household income of around 128k and a median income for a family at around 150k. A lot of parents in these wealthier suburbs out here have what a lot of us call the Suburbia Blinders and fail to see the forest for the trees. There was a rumor circulated at one point that he ran away back to the Chicago area but I find it very doubtful. In today's world you leave a digital footprint everywhere you go and someone would have seen him by now.
My heart goes out to anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide. It is so hard. You have to remember that the brain is an organ that can malfunction just like any other, and it can bring people to an impossibly dark place. Mental health is health and losing a loved one to it does not diminish your value or theirs.
I know from my own experience that a single joint of pot can cause severe psychosis in some people. If Bryce was abusing alcohol and amphetamines it’s possible he was completely detached from reality. When a person is in such a state anything is possible. Using reason, rational thinking and knowledge of that person’s normal personality and circumstances to deduct what they may or may not think to do is completely unhelpful in such situations. It doesn’t matter how good their normal life was or how good their relationships etc. Once a person becomes psychotic or in anyway psychologically impaired by drugs, they can do anything.
Such a sad case with no answers after 10 years, my heart goes out to Bryce's parents. The side affects of medications that are prescribed can be difficult enough to deal with, but are often compounded when taken without a diagnosis or recreationally. I do hope his parents find the answers they are looking for. My heart also goes out to Lara's family, so terribly sad.
Unfortunately the toxic chemical cocktail took it's toll. The side effects are very harsh for someone who needed them for a legitimate diagnosis, and far worse for someone who didn't. Mix that with alcohol and other drugs and its pure poison.
Now I understand the significance of not sleeping for 24 hours. High. But where is his body ? If the lake is anything like Lake Superior - cold, deep and silty it won’t give up its dead.
I find these sort of cases the most baffling i hope Bryce is found alive and if not i hope his family will be able to get closure in some way its such a heartbreaking situation for his family to be in
Anyone who has researched him should know that he did not have a good relationship with his family. He found out something and I'm guessing it had to do with college, bc he was taking Vyvanse and drinking a lot, pretty sure he was failing.. and he didn't want to go home and tell them the news. I think the drugs were messing with his mental state, making it seem way worse than the situation was. And sadly, I think he intended to kill himself but the car accident didn't kill him...he's seen purposely trying to drive off the edge... I think he walked off and died.
🤔🤔I think the adhd pills could have impaired bryce judgement he may have fell asleep while driving crashed and later walked away in a confused disoriented state unfortunately after all these years he still hasn't been located no new leads hopefully a clue will lead to his wheabouts or location his family just wants closure for bryce😢😢😢
This one really haunts me, he was literally a lost soul. Have they had Adventures With Purpose or Chaos Divers searched all the bodies of water there? They have advanced searching techniques.
I believe his behavior indicated he was suicidal. I considered the possibility that the reason he had remained in same area for so long was because he was waiting to meet someone to get more ADHD medicine before he went home but after putting all of the pieces together, I do believe he planned to end his life. He had a plan but once he arrived to the area he had doubts so he most likely sat in his car stuck in a cycle of trying to talk himself out of it and building courage to follow through. The police officer's observation of red eyes probably means he had been crying but his social personality allowed him hide how much torment he was in. I hope his remains are located so his family can be at peace.
Lara Rest In Peace beloved one gone but not forgotten But Be. Brice where ever you are. I put your happy and safe. If your not. Rest In Peace beloved young man Blessings Be.
Bryce, hopefully lights will guide you home. We're leaving lights on. Too many cases of students/young adults "dying" near a body of water, or their car crashed and they "disappeared".
Vyvanse is a good medication for many. IMU Bryce was taking the MED “recreationally” and that can be very dangerous, I agree. OMG, I just wrote that whole post and realized you were referring to pronunciation 🤦🏾♀️ I’m an idiot…lol
It’s a shame that nobody interfered with the alcohol and drug abuse when it was obviously out of control. I understand that the parents weren’t aware of it. I have to say that as unpopular as I would have been, I’d have run up there to engage him as soon as I heard his behavior was not normal.
These parents were so lazy. Bothering another non family member to keep going back and checking on their son again, and again. Doesn't seem like they were that concerned sitting on the couch making only phone calls.
I have been familiar with Bryce’s case since it came out on Disappeared not long after he went missing. My late husband & I worked in Laguna Niguel from 1987-2014. I believe Bryce was adopted. No doubt the Vyvanse had a big effect on him & it always appeared to me that he was struggling a lot & depressed. Some of the comments about Vyvanse here are very informative! No wonder he sat in his car at the Buttonwillow rest area for hours & hours! He may have sustained a head injury after he purposely crashed his car by Castaic Lake. My guess is that Bryce is not too far from where he crashed his car. A big area to search along the Grapevine. Prayers to Bryce’s & Lara’s families!!
In hindsight if I was Bryce's mom I would have told the police officer to detain him and I'm getting in my car now to drive and pick him up. I wonder if they used underwater drones to search for him. 🤔 So sad😞
My heartfelt condolences to the family, and to be clear i don't think they could have known in this situatuon, but as someone who has seen this in their own life too, if you're a parent and you have a suspicion that your college aged child is struggling or going through a mental health episode, please physically go to their location if you can, irrespective of what they tell you. I think as a college student often no matter how close one is to ones parents, revealing struggles you have can be hard. You love your parents, and don't want to worry them, and so it's easy to hide your struggles if you live far enough away. Once again though, in no way do I think the family dod anything wrong- they couldn't have foreseen the future. I hope that Bryce can be found one day.
So in effect Bryce was found three times and called back three times!! It’s still inconclusive to me what he was actually doing? He clearly did not want to go back home otherwise why was there no solid explanation for his delay? Having said that the car and his whereabouts unknown is very odd indeed? Did he walk away? Was he hidden? Maybe someone else was driving the car? I pray and hope that this poor soul was not in two minds about taking his own life. The fact though that he has still not been identified means that there is still hope. ❤️🙏.x
This is one of the cases I wish extra hard could be solved. I don’t think Bryce is still alive. Not sure if he wandered off and died and hasn’t been found or if he was picked up and died somewhere else, but I do believe he was intending to take his life. The worst part to me is thinking about how alone he probably felt in the days before he disappeared. I have read enough to suspect he felt that he extremely insufficient in the eyes of his parents. I wish they’d decided to go get him, as he was clearly not okay. As Lordan said, if anyone is struggling with mental health like this, find help. You aren’t alone, and you are all worth it.
Yeah. I have a friend who was in a similar situation. I think parents naturally want their kids to be doing ok, and don't want to be helicopter parents, and college kids naturally want to avoid worrying their parents, so there's this tendency to underestimate the scope of the issue, so to speak. Obviously I don't think it's anyone's fault though, it's just sad all the way around.
The area where his car was found is extremely remote. He obviously was able to escape the vehicle and wander off. He could be in the water or he could be out in the hills. If he is out in the hills, hopefully, some hiker will find him some day. If he is in the lake, they need a sonar boat equipped so search deep water.
Bryce's backstory confuses me. Some sources say Mr. Laspisa was not his birth father. And there may have been a stepsister who was estranged from the family. None of that matters too much. But maybe it could explain something going on in the family dynamic.
Why wouldn’t the parents drive to his location when he was found parked in the same spot for six hours. There is a complete lack of common sense. He was clearly not okay and I don’t understand the inaction…
Or he got a ride from someone since they tracked his scent but he was stalling to go home and he didn't want to talk to his mom. The cop forced him to call. I don't know if he was waiting on a drug deal or if it was just stalling to not go home but he had a really big secret and I again guess that it had something to do with college and he was in trouble with drugs before.. and I think he was told that he would have been cut off financially and his mom was really controlling and he didn't want that. So I'm thinking he was thinking the worst bc of the Vyvanse... He was wasted when they called his mom but his mom said he sounded ok and kind of went into denial and told the gf to give him his keys. Big mistake. I do remember reading they tried to tell her that he was not acting right but she was in denial. He kept sitting in his car for hours in button willow not moving... He did not want to go home.
I don't know why he wasn't arrested or picked up by cops after his family reported him missing. That had moved to a different state, and who knows who he met online or in passing. He was at the same spot many times on the highway, and he looked out of it. He was a heavy liquor drinker and took pills for something he wasn't known to have. I feel the cops had many opportunities to grab him and tow his car back home. However, whatever he told cops probably made them understand the situation. To go missing and never found is something that happens when someone is confused and possibly on something strong. They found his doppelganger. I have to wonder if it was him and the cops just let him be. Maybe his life was better, and he wanted to act like someone else. I think a DNA test would help out in this situation.
You don’t know why the cops didn’t pick him up ?? Pick him up for what? Tow his car for what? He wasn’t doing anything wrong. Very weird take you have on this situation.
@SallyMars because he ran away, and he was known by his family that he was not thinking currently. I said, arrested for his own safety. Did you not hear any of the video.?
Age progression photos and the businesses that produce them are a sham. The technology isn't even close to being ready for use at this point and they know it. The Bryce laspisa is one of the worst ones I've ever seen. Bryce has one of the most distinctive faces and his face is guaranteed to stand out to an insane degree up and through old age if he's alive that is. The age progression removes Bryce's look/essence entirely, which they always do. Police departments and others need to stop using this primitive technology and just show the most recent photos of a person and simply imagine the person being 20 years older or whatever. It's embarrassing. it's comparable to flying technology pre plane where you see guys jumping off buildings with wings attached to their arms and they fall to their death. That is where age progression technology is still at. There's never been one where a person was found where it looked anything like the person. And this would be an extremely easy technology to test by getting several photos of a person from 20 years ago or whatever and have them do their age progression and then bring in the person as they look now. We would all fall over laughing. It's a scam.
I would love to see an age progression photo business willing to actually prove the effectiveness of their technology by having someone or a someone's bring in a conglomeration of photos of someone 20 years ago... they age progress them and then the bring in the person and compare. None of them would be willing to do this, because it would prove that the technology at this point is nonsense. It couldn't be any worse.
C'mon people this entire scenario is bogus, there has been no serious investigation by authorities, and the story itself has been carried on 'dozens' of individual social media platforms ie blogs, YT, etc. And the simple fact there was absolutely no sense of urgency on behalf of the parents (their only child), nor during the initial contacts with Mr Laspisa (Bryce) by authorities, is highly suspicious.
This is one of those cases that sticks with me as he was clearly struggling mentally. But it is also one of those cases where he could actually be alive still.
It’s possible he’s wandering around a town somewhere. I doubt it but it is possible.

That medication is dangerous. My son had hallucinations. That caused him to get violent. Praying for answers 7:39
The lake is so deep I’m afraid that even if they searched it they wouldn’t find him super sad case
I've heard about this, sad story.
His case is very sad.hope the family finds him soon
I think Danelle covered Bryce's case. I always thought he was a missing person that could very possiblly still be alive.
I’m pretty sure I saw Kendall do a piece on it as well
Yes! Danelle did!
@@CrimeTime101Kendall did too
Rest In Peace beloved
Unfortunately the toxic chemical cocktail took it's toll. The side effects are very harsh for someone who needed them for a legitimate diagnosis, and far worse for someone who didn't. Mix that with alcohol and other drugs and its pure poison.
Agree. Add sleep deprivation and that creeping age of schizophrenia, and anything that could go wrong probably did. Sad.
I pray that Bryce is eventually found. Heartbreaking
This case always breaks my heart. Hoping justice for Bryce's family is right around the corner this new year ♥
Now I understand the significance of not sleeping for 24 hours. High. But where is his body ? If the lake is anything like Lake Superior - cold, deep and silty it won’t give up its dead.
I find these sort of cases the most baffling i hope Bryce is found alive and if not i hope his family will be able to get closure in some way its such a heartbreaking situation for his family to be in
can you do the Wesley Billingsly case?
buttonwillow is on I-5 west of Bakersfield. this is the main interstate from Sacramento to Los Angeles
I hadn't heard of either of those. Thanks for sharing that info!
@@lindasue8719 They have found many missing persons in water, and they do it at no cost to the families.

Too many cases of students/young adults "dying" near a body of water, or their car crashed and they "disappeared".
think it's vyvanse.
Vyvanse is a good medication for many.
IMU Bryce was taking the MED “recreationally” and that can be very dangerous, I agree.
OMG, I just wrote that whole post and realized you were referring to pronunciation 🤦🏾♀️
I’m an idiot…lol
It’s a shame that nobody interfered with the alcohol and drug abuse when it was obviously out of control. I understand that the parents weren’t aware of it.
I have to say that as unpopular as I would have been, I’d have run up there to engage him as soon as I heard his behavior was not normal.
Remember that missing girl that joined the commune? What is she up to lately? I forget her name.
These parents were so lazy. Bothering another non family member to keep going back and checking on their son again, and again. Doesn't seem like they were that concerned sitting on the couch making only phone calls.
He was like 6 or 7 hours away.
@6:11 - Do you mean Vyvanse? I've never heard of an ADHD medication called "Vi-Nace".
Vyvanse is pronounced "Vi-Vans".
Yeah, I believe that is what he meant!
FYI, the ADHD drug is called Vyvanse, not Vynase.
❤❤❤
Why do you believe he was adopted ?
In hindsight if I was Bryce's mom I would have told the police officer to detain him and I'm getting in my car now to drive and pick him up.
I wonder if they used underwater drones to search for him. 🤔 So sad😞
The police cannot do that, if they see no issue.
What? What world do you live in??? the police can’t just detain people because mommy said so..
If only the parents could’ve picked him up at the rest stop…he obviously wasn’t well
You don't need a pharmacist to get vyvance, you contact the company directly. It's a strange set up.
You do in the United States
You have to in the US. Its a scheduled medication.
Yes you do, it is a controlled substance
Bryce was just waiting for his parents to get him. They never did. 😢😢😢
I'm sure they wish they had. The girlfriend had the right idea, he never should have been given back the keys.
@@catserver8577hindsight smh it’s sad
Rip Lara
The area where his car was found is extremely remote. He obviously was able to escape the vehicle and wander off. He could be in the water or he could be out in the hills. If he is out in the hills, hopefully, some hiker will find him some day. If he is in the lake, they need a sonar boat equipped so search deep water.
Aliens took him
Why didn't the police do mre 10:22
What do you expect them to do???
Quick correction: The ADHD med is pronounced, "VYE-vance."
Bryce's backstory confuses me. Some sources say Mr. Laspisa was not his birth father. And there may have been a stepsister who was estranged from the family. None of that matters too much. But maybe it could explain something going on in the family dynamic.
You are pronouncing the name of the meds wrong that Bryce was taking
Yet didn't you explain how to pronounce it correctly.
I know they had to feel guilty for getting Kim to give him his keys back 8:39
Is it true LE has listed him as voluntarily missing??
What is LE?

@@user-xq7ny9oq7t Thanks.
Why wouldn’t the parents drive to his location when he was found parked in the same spot for six hours. There is a complete lack of common sense. He was clearly not okay and I don’t understand the inaction…
I think he was like 6 hours away.
The age progressed image shows a clean cut man. Show an age progressed image of a disheveled shaggy headed and bearded man. That is what is logical.
Rip Laura and Rip Bryce

I think he is no longer alive
Sadly I think this guy is in the lake. It's not as easy to search water as we might imagine.
So what exactly is your point ???
