    Hiro left Sodor for Japan after his debut movie, but returned upon realized all of his old friends had long-since been scrapped for the WW2 war effort. Many of the staff and crew he once knew had either moved on or died in the war, leaving only a handful of people who even knew Hiro existed

    Here is my head cannon for magic railroad. Edward told the Engines a story about the magic railroad, thomas then had a dream about it. lady is a real magic engine and gives the engines of the world faces. So that’s how you could fit magic railroad into cannon. This is the same thing for the railway series.

    The reason I called Lady’s class “Precious Class” because that old line from Magic Railroad: “She’s a Precious as Gold”. Also was built for Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee to honour Queen Victoria.

    Head cannon of mine, the part of the loop line from Tidmouth to Elsbridge was built for the Tidmouth Knapford and Elsbridge Railway to create a loop. The other half was created when the TK&ER merged with the Wellsworth and Suddery railway, the line was later restored in 1967.

    My own headcannon for Diesel 10: He's a class 43 warship, a class of disels with an exceedingly short service life due to major mechanical problems. He had the unfortunate start in life the come out of the works as a "revolutionary" diesel thinking himself the next big thing destined to replace the tired old steam engines. Only to be slated for scrap as a failure within 10 years.
    He hates steam engines largely from resentment. Resentment of their success, resentment that these steamers have outlived all his classmates, and resentment that the only reason he escapped the cutter's tourch is to essentially serve under these steamers as a maintenance engine, keeping their railway in working order while they get all the attention pulling the trains that he's no longer wanted for.

    Here's a couple of my head canons:
    Gordon takes special trips that go far into the Mainland UK, so he received a corridor tender and an extra water tender.
    Gordon also has a rake of Gresley Teak bogie corridor coaches he uses for these special trains.
    Spencer is a prototype a4, just like Gordon is the prototype for the a1/3 class
    Stephen isn't the original Rocket, but is a sibling of the original, which is why the Earl of Sodor was able to purchase him.
    Henry wasn't rebuild into an LMS Stanier class 5, but was just given a new fire box and boiler as his boiler ticket was almost up for renewal by the time he had his accident with the Flying Kipper.
    Spencer has a second face under his streamlining for when he has it removed for maintenance.

    Here are some of my headcanons, sorry if it's too much:
    The race between Thomas and Bertie was a friendly one and it was organised by the NWR and Sodor Roadways to find out who could serve the area better.
    The Mid Sodor Railway used to have a branchline to Ulfstead, and the Arlesdale Railway was later extended to there too.
    Bulgy no longer dislikes the railway, since he's a vegetable bus and they're not his competitors anymore. His current archnemesis is a Tesco lorry called Bruce
    The Arlesdale Railway aren't clones of their bases, they are their bases. In my AU, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway closed down and its engines were sold to Sodor. Usually I hate messing with irl history, but I hate how Sodor has a bunch of clones of real railways and this fixes one of them.
    After George caused yet another large accident, the Sodor Island Council decided to sell him, but only scrapyards wanted to buy him. Most engines didn't care for him, but Rusty convinced the Vicar of Wellsworth to save him. When George found out he was saved by a railway engine, he softened up to the railways. George now lives at the Vicarage Orchard with Trevor and attends many fetes and galas and such.
    While most of the Old Coaches from S1 were scrapped, some were preserved and became Emily's coaches, and another one, Dexter, became a classroom.
    Some years after his arrival to the Skarloey Railway, Duke began to feel old. He decided to retire to the Earl's Ulfstead Estate Railway where the workload was lighter, and before he left he passed down his title of The Duke to Peter Sam, which meant Duke was now called by his real name - Bertram. Both are still commonly referred to with their most known names, but officially they are Bertram and The Duke.
    When Diesel arrived to the Cement Works, he was very careless and Fergus had to abandon some of his work to clean up his messes. This made the manager think Diesel was the better worker of the two, and when Fergus overheard him say that he was a burden to the Cement Works, he volunteered to be sold to the Ulfstead Estate Railway. There he was frustrated with the Earl treating him like a fragile machine and ran away, and stumbled upon the Smelters in the process. He was found by Stephen and the Earl, who apologised for his treatment of him and told him the Cement Works want him back after Diesel was found out. Fergus accepted and returned, and became Diesel's mentor who is now a more mature and experienced engine.
    Diesel believes that City of Truro was the first to go 100 mph.
    The Sodor Steamworks are open to all engines and railways around the world, and international engines are often overhauled there. After their repairs end, they can work on the NWR for a few months in exchange for getting a discount for the repairs. Some of these engines even stay on Sodor and are purchased.
    Each year when the Culdee Fell Railway is closed for the winter, two of its engines spend the time at the Earl's museum at Ulfstead.
    The CFR's manager is nicknamed the Tall Controller - not because he's tall (he's actually rather small) but because his railway is.
    Many of the HiT era's narrow gauge stories actually happened on the Mid Sodor Railway with different engines - Sir Handel as Duke, Skarloey and Rheneas and Stuart and Falcon, Duncan as Smudger, etc. The Wharf was the harbour at Arlesburgh.
    Diesel 10's real name is Vincent.

      So, are you saying that the HIT era narrow gauge stories could, and probably should, be rewritten to focus on the Mid-Sodor engines instead of the Skarloey engines?

      @@ciarangleeson2880 Maybe not all but it would help with some of the issues like mischaracterisations and how the railway itself is portrayed less as the small line it's supposed to be. Also Arlesburgh just works the best for the Wharf

      i REALLY like ur steamworks headcanon, it makes a lot of sense and it sort of adds a bit more to it then just “the place where thomas sees victor and where kevin falls over.. a lot” it’s good, you should make a lil story wit it :)

    Here's mine: In the early 1970s, The NWR decides to continue vacationing services to lesser known parts of Sodor, so they built the Watery, Hide and Grassdale Miniature Railway, (Inspired by the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway) the line was opened in 1973 and became so popular that the line began running freight services, which still do today, The line has several Stations, (Hide, Grassdale, Great Ffarquhar Lake, North Ffarquhar, Saint Elizabeth's Bay, Watery Warren, New Watery, Watery Marsh, Sodorness, Graveling and Finally North Brendam) the line has 21 engines, (19 steam locomotives and two diesels) and connects to the NWR Via North Ffarquhar, an extension of Thomas's line, so there it it, I know it's long but I hope it sounds interesting

    So heres some headcanons i had imagined
    1:henry was built as a prototipe of the british railways black five (with wellarches and the same firebox as gordon) but after the flying kipper crash he became a normal black five
    Emily acts like a big sister or a mother figure to donald and douglas
    James after his crash he was given his red livery,a new tender and a front boogie whell (since when he became to sodor he was a normak dean goods engine)

    Following this, here is my headcanon compared to yours:
    1. Lady isn't a magic engine. She was built as a GWR 101 class for a private owner on his estate. After his passing, his heirs didn't know about Lady, and abandoned the estate with her forgotten. When Thomas found her in WWI (after being chased by a runaway on the mainland), he brought her to Sodor and now she works on Thomas' Branchline. She even has a twin sister named Kate (based entirely off Victor Tanzig's character).
    2. Merlin isn't the three funneled engine and was the original 740 Merlin. He was bought during the 30s with his brother Richard (based off Carson's character) and both work mix-traffic.
    3. Beau doesn't exist.
    4. Hiro came to Sodor in 1957 during the International Railway (my version of the Great Railway Show) and stayed along with Frieda, Nia, Ashima, and Carlos after a deputation held by all the engines on the NWR at the time. He's also a standard gauge variant of his class, as are Ashima and Nia, and was renumbered to 51 for being the 51st engine on Sodor's roster.
    5. Diesel 10 is Joshua, an experimental engine Thomas found in a lab under an old castle with several others and brought to Sodor. Unlike the movie and series, Josh is one of the friendliest diesels on the island.
    6. Gordon doesn't retire from the express either. Pip and Emma run a different service called the King's Flyer. Rebecca operates a different express. The Wildnorwester is only operated by Gordon, Frieda, Princess Palatine (based off Prince Palatine by Jamesfan1991), and Scott aka Flying Scotsman.

    1.The Stepney we see in the TVS isn’t the real Stepney, it’s another engine built in 1940 to help with commuter trains around Cumbria, in 1957 he was withdrawn and bought by a steelworks in Cumbria (that part and the part of cab over wheels happening with Stepney instead of 16 and him being scrapped because of it belongs to cinders and ashes UK) he was saved by rusty in 1960 and came to sodor to run the bluebell branch and is sodor’s number 13 but like duck and Oliver in the books, STH let him keep his original 55 from his steelworks
    2. The bluebell branch was bought out by STH in 1961 and was expanded to the cement works in 1963 and a junction station to connect it to the peel godred line too
    3. After double teething troubles, Derek was sent back to the works, and was bought by it to be the works diesel (the RWS one died if I’m not mistaken)
    4. The wishing tree in Henry and the wishing tree is actually rumored to be cursed, when someone makes a wish on it, thier wish comes true but there’s always a catch, in henry’s case, him pulling the express but forgetting how to pull coaches.
    5. In CAE tidmouth sheds was expanded to 10 birth’s instead of 7
    6. After the airport was built, class 40 was given a second chance as he was needed to run the AirPort Express trains (these always have the red express coaches)
    7. Alice (from Thomas and the birthday mail) eventually gets married to another woman in her adult years, Thomas and Rosie bring up the good luck package
    8. After tugs zip went to work at Percy’s harbor, and became a lot better because of it
    9. Kana and sandy are canon and are both narrow gauge

    one of my headconnons is that edward got 4 rebuilds he was build in 1896 and came to the nwr in 1915 he was overhualed in 1941 and in 1952 when edward saved james he was over hualed again and we all know what happened in 1965

    My headcannons are:
    Thomas was a experemental jinty and e2 mix made in 1908
    James was the actual shape of the class he is based off of and gets the extended running board that makes him a 062 tender engine after his crash in 1924
    98462 and 87543 are both a b12 tender engine and a c1 alantic prototypes made in 1902
    Burtram was rebuilt to have a tender after he crashed on the old iron bridge in 1922
    Charlie and billy were on the wellsworth and suddery railway with 2 other engines like them
    In 1962 oliver escaped scrap with his 2 coaches and toad
    The 3rd s&m engine worked itself to death
    Duke and smudger works on the ulfstead castle railway
    Sir topham hats family tree is longer than the width of the island of sordor
    Rosie was bought in 1959 when she got withdrawn in 1958
    Timothy was the older design of thomas whose brakes failed when he crashed on the bridge in 1909
    Gordon is a mix of a lner a1 pacific by sir nigel gresly and a lms black 5 by william stanier made in 1917
    Thats all

    1. All the engine on the Northwestern r painted in their favorite colors except 98462 and 87546 they were painted black for being annoying and rude
    2: While Edward pulls the Brendam Express most of the time he also pulls local train so he doesn't wear himself out because of all the constant high speed and pulls smaller fruness railway coaches on these local trains.
    3: percy was built in October 22nd 1933 and was bought by topham in may 23rd 1934
    4: The 2 red engine in my headcanon are called Ashton and Jonathan Johnathan is a class 28 with some mods and Asthon is an lner b4
    5: The Express has to be 5 to 7 coaches local main line trains have to be 4 Express coaches and 6 branchline coaches branchline locals have to be 3 branchline coaches unless it is Thomas or Edward lines because of annie and clarabell and Edward's coaches.
    6. I have names for the engines crews 1 through 6
    1. Joseph and Michael
    2. Charlie and Sidney
    3. Angel and Ted
    4. Paul and Anthony
    5. Rob and Chris
    6. Caleb and Ernie
    7: Duck is the one with the diesel prejudice not James

      8: Like in t1e2h3 98462 dies in 1924 while trying to kill Gordon and Henry and 87546 becomes even more evil and tries to finish what Alfred started after he was sent away in 1926 and he destroys himself and Barrow in 1942 during the barrow blitz
      9: The speed limit for the NWR as of 2023 is no speed limit for the mainline 80 for the Brendam branch which is Edward's top speed and for others it is 40.
      10. The peel godred branch was never maintained well and by privatization all passengers service closed down on the line
      11: this is the order of all the main line station in my headcanon

      14: Emily is a Stirling single they used to be Express engines but they were taken of Express work in the the early 1900s because they wheel sliped a lot and were bad with traction and speed the heavy trains didn't help not to mention they weren't as good as the k2 the express engines for the LMS at the time so they were demoted to local passenger runs and were replaced by the C1 Atlantics so the Atlantic and singles hated each other.

    Here are some of mine
    James didn't receive his extended running board till after his crash with the trucks the reason it was a curve he derailed on and James class had a problem with top-heavy ness so the leading wheel was added to prevent this problem from happening again
    Sir handle back on the midsodor was a 0-4-0 and only became a 0-4-2 because of modifications the skarloey railway gave him when he first arrived the reason being they didn't want a incident happening where he would buck and bounce like skarloey when he first came to the railway
    Duck actually has a huge diesel prejudice and was honestly rude to diesel when he first arrived, so instead of duck being completely in the right and diesel wrong it's a grey area where both sides are to blame
    In contrast with duck, Oliver never had a prejudice against desiels since when he was escaping a few kind diesels helped him an example includes Paxton who was taking a train Early in the morning saved Oliver who was stuck out on the mainline because he ran out of coal, so he pushed him to an abandoned yard so he would be safe and later that day came back with coal and water to help him refuel

      @@anonymousthomasfan1111 Yes and here is An headcanon fact for you: Thomas was built in 1912 as a FR class G5 0-6-0 tank engine with an curved running board. He was sent to work in various collieries and harbors with other engines (some of which he hated). Before he left for sodor in 1915, he worked in one last colliery which turned out to be a quarry instead, most of the engines were sentient but he managed to get the job done. He usually was a happy engine and got frustrated when things weren’t done properly (possible concept of his friendship with Fergus??). After being sent to Sodor in 1915, he was rebuild into An LBSCR E2. it took time for him to get used to the new environment, and the rest is history
