Lovebites is a female power metal/ heavy metal band and they comeback after a year on hiatus after Miho (bass) left the band on August 17, 2021. Now they have new bassist, Fami. Their new album "Judgement Day" will be release on February 22, 2023.

Welcome to the Goddesses Of Metal. Yes Helloween is one of their biggest influences. Lovebites 1st official release "The Lovebites EP" even came with a sticker on the cover with a comment from Helloween complimenting them. Lovebites also has a cover of Eagle Fly Free by Helloween. Great reaction. I love how you caught so many little details like the dark haired guitar in the right ear, and the other in the left. The star cymbals, the hellowen and Dragonforce influences (tons of Maiden in their stuff too, they're all huge fans), and commenting on the complexity of the solos. Lots of people just go "wow, they're so good", but it doesn't seem like they really did more than passively listen.

I discovered this group about a month ago and they truly do not have a bad song. Just songs you like better than others. Every song I have heard is at least an 8.5 for me. Every song has some kind of cool "hook" in it and I am addicted to them now. Also, the power house drummer is only 4'9" and the tallest member is like 5'4" I think. The bassist and drummer were the founding members and the bassist left the group last year but they just replaced recently with possibly a better one and the next album is almost ready for release.
Welcome to the best band you had never heard of but now wish that you had five years ago when they started out. Lovebites are very much the real deal, a once in a a generation band. Miyako (black hair) and Midori (blond), the two guitarists, are one, if not the best twin leads playing today, To fully appreciate Lovebites 'talents and their originality you should check out "Swan Song" (with the piano intro), "Break the Wall", "Edge of the World", "Holy War", "Epilogue", 'When Destinies Align", "Empty Daydream", "Above the Black Sea:", "Frozen Serenade"for starters. Hey Cheezy! Lovebites is my favorite band not named The Warning, they are awesome. 70 years of rock and metal with electric instruments and amplifiers. During this time there must have been around 25,000 well-known bands all over the world made up entirely of men. In the same time there have been maybe 100 moderately successful all-female bands. So don't worry, there will inevitably be pure male reaction videos again soon. The Beatles, the heirs of Elvis Pressley or Michael Jackson, still earn more money every day than all Japanese rock women combined in one year. Men musicians need not fear, these women will never get the publicity they deserve in the public eye. It remains as it always was, everything in balance.😪🤮🤧

Dragonforce are great, but Lovebites are several levels higher and each of them are hyper talented. Miyako, the dark haired guitarist is also a world class classical pianist who shreds the piano in several of their songs.
Japan has some of the best musicians in the world. And most Japanese band members play more than one instrument. They are truly amazing beautiful women in beautiful dresses slamming the hell out of their instruments!

Really enjoyed your reaction! I had given up on mainstream music for the last 20-30 years. Just wasn't for me. Then I discovered Band-Maid, which led me to the whole world of Japanese rock and metal. If you like Band-Maid and Lovebites, I think you'd enjoy Nemophila. They're definitely the heaviest of the three. While I love Nemophila and I love Band-Maid, Lovebites is my favorite. They have a discography of over 50 songs, and there's only one that I don't care for. (And no, I won't say what it is. Don't want to get shredded by the Wolfpack!) What I'm saying is that you won't go wrong with any LB songs, however three of my favorites are "Break the Wall," "Swan Song (w/ Chopin intro), and "Frozen Serenade." I often say that my favorite LB song is the one I'm listening to at the time, so I'm happy with any of their songs. Welcome to the Wolfpack!!
I was expecting you to compare them first to Dragonforce. But you're right: They are highly influenced by the 80s metal scene. Like Helloween (Who they also have a great cover of. Eagle fly free (live from the Abyss), but also maiden, Slayer, Priest, Metallica... But with their own twist.

Welcomed to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites. These women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile exceptional musicians. They really shine in their live performances. Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined Lovebites. I tune in for reactions every evening (U.K.). My favourites are obviously first time reactions, but even more so when the reactor obviously knows their stuff. What happened to you happened to every member of the Wolfpack, as brilliantly described by Mark S. For me there was no “one of”, my mind told me, a mere 30 seconds in , first song, “new favourite band, want everything they’ve ever done, must see live” and…very interestingly “this band has never written an album filler “. I’m not musically trained, but it doesn’t mean I’m not musically astute. I can’t have any background noise listening to music, I give everything I play my full attention. Lo and behold, from a catalogue of almost 50 songs, I (within about two weeks, max) discovered that not only have Lovebites never written anything even remotely mediocre but that they are that rare phenomenon that is almost impossible to tell live from studio. I’ve listened to tracks sometimes and only realised it’s live when a very late ad lib comes in. Their fan base is utterly loyal and very vocal. It’s a consensus that the girls are woefully unheard of by what is their key audience, metalheads. It doesn’t help that they have a very old fashioned management approach from the Japanese label, although it’s a mixed blessing because in terms of backing, the company is very generous it seems. It’s marketing where they are behind the times. Yes we all know you’ve just played copyright material, but the men in suits, rather than blocking reactions ought to have a few staff members who monitor reactions and actively support and encourage good ones. It’s basically free marketing. I’d have never heard of them were it not for reaction channels. The very best of what is already the best awaits your attention. Wait until you see Mikayo play Chopin, in the left hand exercise that is “revolutionary etude”. Then calmly retrieve her pick and give the world a lesson in tapping as “Swansong” kicks into gear. Or Asami put down her mic and performs ballet whilst the rest of the band incorporates Spanish guitar and piano before ending “A Frozen Serenade” with a section that would grace any Bond Movie. Your life as you knew it, is a thing of the past. Welcome to the addiction that is Lovebites.

They may be more technical guitarists than Lovebites, faster heavier drummers, flashier bassists and powerful operatic singers than Lovebites. Miho and Haruna (Haruna Drummer and Miho bass) are from the band Destrose their old band. Haruna uses the same drum kid as she did in Destrose. also an amazing female band you should check that out as well if you like this. The stars on her drum kit comes from that Band.

Gotta love a band where the singer really wanted to do ballet, and one guitar player (Miayko) started Piano at age toddler and only picked up guitar in her later teens. Oh and Miyako is the Metal Zoo person of the band, of course she has her puppy, cat, snake and owl AND I guess she is also another 'working metal mom.
Asami, an R&B/Jazz singer and backing vocalist for a popular rock band, is contacted by a new metal band and takes an audition. Knowing nothing of heavy metal, she sang LOVEBITES (SO DO I) by Heimstorm at her audition. On this day, the new metal band got a new lead vocalist and band name. When they dared to choose a white feminine outfit that could be considered heresy in the metal scene, they decided to be like lone wolves separated from the pack. Since then, the wolf has become their symbol. And those who were 'bitten' by LOVEBITES began calling themselves 'Wolfpack'.

I have no idea if this as been mentioned in the comments but it is important to point out that both of these songs, as different as they are, were composed by Miyako (guitarist on stage left). Of the 45 songs in the Lovebites catalog (not including instrumentals), Miyako has composed 20 of them and cowrote one with the ex-bassist Miho. Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence thus far, they have easily put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-long hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 and their fans eagerly await their next move. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. With Miho having left for personal reasons, they recently announced their new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." You hit a nerve in a good way when you mentioned finding a new favorite band doesn't happen often. I love so many bands. Exodus is my favorite thrash band. Emerson, Lake, and Palmer is my favorite prog band. Keith Emerson has been my favorite musician since the 70s. I've had three favorite bands in 50+ years. Led Zeppelin waszmy first in 1971. Opeth in the early 2000s became my favorite band. Then, early this year, I stumbled on a Lovebites reaction video, Holy War. New favorite band, my third. And a new favorite musician, Miyako. Yup, doesn't happen often.
Spot on reaction! You mentioned the riff that comes out of the chorus of "Set the World on Fire" (same as the opening riff btw). Interesting tidbit: its pitches make up a signature melodic motif that shows up in many of their songs. It's the same encircling motif that their introductory song "Awaken" (all instrumental) uses, specifically the pitches D, E-flat, C, and back to D. The same pattern -- up a half step, down a minor third and back to the first pitch) makes me think of how a wolf encircles its prey before attacking. This might be intentional on their part, but even if it's not I think it gives an important unifying element among their songs. Discerning ears will pick up on it, e.g., Miho's solo bass licks in the song "Hammer of Wrath" that often follows "Awaken." It makes a very brief appearance in the second song of your reaction, "Raise Some Hell;" listen for it just before the final chorus. One of their later songs from the Glory to the World EP, "Dystopia Symphony," uses this motive in the instrumental bridge and repeats it successively in octaves à la Beethoven (appropriately, given the subject of the song), which makes me think that this is an intentional "signature." This is probably not the most obvious or impressionable aspect of their two most listeners, but it is one way they blend classical music elements with their metal brand, which makes Lovebites stand out for me.
It said one of the reasons why they wear white, as well as heels, is to Help them be seen because of their height, or lack of 😆 Miyako ( dark hair guitar player) is the tallest at a whopping 5'2" LOL. ( not sure how tall the new bassist is)

This is another reason why they chose white for their concert performances. The white color also emphasizes that LOVEBITES is the Lone Wolf in the world of metal because they play a non-mainstream metal genre. The image of the Wolf 🐺is on all EPs, Albums, Compilation, Live albums, DVD / Blu-ray of LOVEBITES (except the first "The Lovebites EP", 2017) . The Wolf is the talisman of LOVEBITES. Fans of the band, respectively, call themselves the 🐺Wolf Pack🐺.

Lovebites 1st official release "The Lovebites EP" even came with a sticker on the cover with a comment from Helloween complimenting them. Lovebites also has a cover of Eagle Fly Free by Helloween. In 2018 Lovebites won the Metal Hammer Golden God Award for Best New Band, and have even toured with Dragonforce before

Great reaction. I love how you caught so many little details like the dark haired guitar in the right ear, and the other in the left. The star cymbals, the hellowen and Dragonforce influences (tons of Maiden in their stuff too, they're all huge fans), and commenting on the complexity of the solos.
Lots of people just go "wow, they're so good", but it doesn't seem like they really did more than passively listen.

I discovered this group about a month ago and they truly do not have a bad song. Just songs you like better than others. Every song I have heard is at least an 8.5 for me. Every song has some kind of cool "hook" in it and I am addicted to them now. Also, the power house drummer is only 4'9" and the tallest member is like 5'4" I think. The bassist and drummer were the founding members and the bassist left the group last year but they just replaced recently with possibly a better one and the next album is almost ready for release.
I've never seen such talented group, everything is so clean and on point, they are so in sync.

70 years of rock and metal with electric instruments and amplifiers. During this time there must have been around 25,000 well-known bands all over the world made up entirely of men. In the same time there have been maybe 100 moderately successful all-female bands. So don't worry, there will inevitably be pure male reaction videos again soon. The Beatles, the heirs of Elvis Pressley or Michael Jackson, still earn more money every day than all Japanese rock women combined in one year. Men musicians need not fear, these women will never get the publicity they deserve in the public eye. It remains as it always was, everything in balance.😪🤮🤧

Dragonforce are great, but Lovebites are several levels higher and each of them are hyper talented. Miyako, the dark haired guitarist is also a world class classical pianist who shreds the piano in several of their songs.

Really enjoyed your reaction! I had given up on mainstream music for the last 20-30 years. Just wasn't for me. Then I discovered Band-Maid, which led me to the whole world of Japanese rock and metal. If you like Band-Maid and Lovebites, I think you'd enjoy Nemophila. They're definitely the heaviest of the three. While I love Nemophila and I love Band-Maid, Lovebites is my favorite. They have a discography of over 50 songs, and there's only one that I don't care for. (And no, I won't say what it is. Don't want to get shredded by the Wolfpack!) What I'm saying is that you won't go wrong with any LB songs, however three of my favorites are "Break the Wall," "Swan Song (w/ Chopin intro), and "Frozen Serenade." All of these are live from either 2019 Daughters of the Dawn or 2020 Five of a Kind live performances.
The only two songs I recommend Music video versions are When Destinies Align and Vlad Love version of Winds of Transylvania.

Welcomed to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites. These women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile exceptional musicians. They really shine in their live performances. Their main influences are Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Helloween, Angra, Judas Priest, Dragonforce, and even Gary Moore, but they have been developing their unique style. Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined Lovebites. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just six years.
In an interview, Miho (ex bassist) said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. By the way, a few weeks ago the band announced the new bassist, Fami, who is an excellent Japanese bass player and musician as well; so hiatus is over and they’re ready to set the world on fire. I tune in for reactions every evening (U.K.). My favourites are obviously first time reactions, but even more so when the reactor obviously knows their stuff. What happened to you happened to every member of the Wolfpack, as brilliantly described by Mark S. For me there was no “one of”, my mind told me, a mere 30 seconds in , first song, “new favourite band, want everything they’ve ever done, must see live” and…very interestingly “this band has never written an album filler “. I’m not musically trained, but it doesn’t mean I’m not musically astute. I can’t have any background noise listening to music, I give everything I play my full attention. Lo and behold, from a catalogue of almost 50 songs, I (within about two weeks, max) discovered that not only have Lovebites never written anything even remotely mediocre but that they are that rare phenomenon that is almost impossible to tell live from studio. I’ve listened to tracks sometimes and only realised it’s live when a very late ad lib comes in.
Their fan base is utterly loyal and very vocal. It’s a consensus that the girls are woefully unheard of by what is their key audience, metalheads. It doesn’t help that they have a very old fashioned management approach from the Japanese label, although it’s a mixed blessing because in terms of backing, the company is very generous it seems. It’s marketing where they are behind the times. Yes we all know you’ve just played copyright material, but the men in suits, rather than blocking reactions ought to have a few staff members who monitor reactions and actively support and encourage good ones. It’s basically free marketing. I’d have never heard of them were it not for reaction channels.
The very best of what is already the best awaits your attention. Wait until you see Mikayo play Chopin, in the left hand exercise that is “revolutionary etude”. Then calmly retrieve her pick and give the world a lesson in tapping as “Swansong” kicks into gear. Or Asami put down her mic and performs ballet whilst the rest of the band incorporates Spanish guitar and piano before ending “A Frozen Serenade” with a section that would grace any Bond Movie.
Your life as you knew it, is a thing of the past. Welcome to the addiction that is Lovebites.

The star is drummer Haruna's signature cymbal, and no she doesn't play it, just spins it. Dates back to her former days as drummer for Destrose. Lovebites are The Metal Warriors, saving Heavy Metal from darkness and obscurity. They don't have a bad song, even their ballads like Epilogue, Edge of the World & Empty Daydream are very impressive.
Gotta love a band where the singer really wanted to do ballet, and one guitar player (Miayko) started Piano at age toddler and only picked up guitar in her later teens. Oh and Miyako is the Metal Zoo person of the band, of course she has her puppy, cat, snake and owl AND I guess she is also another 'working metal mom.

I have no idea if this as been mentioned in the comments but it is important to point out that both of these songs, as different as they are, were composed by Miyako (guitarist on stage left). Of the 45 songs in the Lovebites catalog (not including instrumentals), Miyako has composed 20 of them and cowrote one with the ex-bassist Miho. I have no doubt that on their just announced upcoming album, Miyako will have composed at least half of the 10 tracks. She is as much a world class pianist as she is a world class guitarist and composer. To me, Swan Song is the best song that shows her greatness as a composer, guitarist and pianist. Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence thus far, they have easily put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-long hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 and their fans eagerly await their next move. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet).
Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. With Miho having left for personal reasons, they recently announced their new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist.
They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." I love so many bands. Exodus is my favorite thrash band. Emerson, Lake, and Palmer is my favorite prog band. Keith Emerson has been my favorite musician since the 70s.
I've had three favorite bands in 50+ years. Led Zeppelin waszmy first in 1971. Opeth in the early 2000s became my favorite band. Then, early this year, I stumbled on a Lovebites reaction video, Holy War. New favorite band, my third. And a new favorite musician, Miyako. Yup, doesn't happen often.

Spot on reaction! You mentioned the riff that comes out of the chorus of "Set the World on Fire" (same as the opening riff btw). Interesting tidbit: its pitches make up a signature melodic motif that shows up in many of their songs. It's the same encircling motif that their introductory song "Awaken" (all instrumental) uses, specifically the pitches D, E-flat, C, and back to D. The same pattern -- up a half step, down a minor third and back to the first pitch) makes me think of how a wolf encircles its prey before attacking. This might be intentional on their part, but even if it's not I think it gives an important unifying element among their songs. Discerning ears will pick up on it, e.g., Miho's solo bass licks in the song "Hammer of Wrath" that often follows "Awaken." It makes a very brief appearance in the second song of your reaction, "Raise Some Hell;" listen for it just before the final chorus. One of their later songs from the Glory to the World EP, "Dystopia Symphony," uses this motive in the instrumental bridge and repeats it successively in octaves à la Beethoven (appropriately, given the subject of the song), which makes me think that this is an intentional "signature." This is probably not the most obvious or impressionable aspect of their two most listeners, but it is one way they blend classical music elements with their metal brand, which makes Lovebites stand out for me.

It said one of the reasons why they wear white, as well as heels, is to Help them be seen because of their height, or lack of 😆 Miyako ( dark hair guitar player) is the tallest at a whopping 5'2" LOL. ( not sure how tall the new bassist is)

This is another reason why they chose white for their concert performances. The white color also emphasizes that LOVEBITES is the Lone Wolf in the world of metal because they play a non-mainstream metal genre. The image of the Wolf 🐺is on all EPs, Albums, Compilation, Live albums, DVD / Blu-ray of LOVEBITES (except the first "The Lovebites EP", 2017) . The Wolf is the talisman of LOVEBITES. Fans of the band, respectively, call themselves the 🐺Wolf Pack🐺.
I think Fami is marginally taller than Miyako so she'll be the youngest and tallest in the band.

They have at times been called Lovebites "sister band" mainly because Asami of Lovebites has been working with them and also has written lyrics for them. Narumi the guitarist 🎸 actually played in Destrose with Haruna of Lovebites and Miho former bassist for Lovebites!!!
