- Purchased a DR200 for $800. There was a race the next day so we figured why not go out and show the KTM riders what they can look forward to when they finally upgrade to a DR200.
It's my dream to be able to continue making more and more free content like this. If you appreciate it, consider supporting the channel by grabbing a DR200 shirt for yourself or someone you know! Reap some KTM tears! torturetestmagazine.com/produ...

Torture Test Magazine is an e-magazine which documents, in fine detail, the stories of bikes subjected to a real-world reliability test known as "the torture test." In the magazine, the torture test is conducted on a bike until it mechanically fails so badly that it can no longer run. Why? Because bike reviews based on a few hours of test riding are not satisfying enough. We want to know exactly how reliable a bike is, and how it will eventually fail. Simply put, Torture Test Magazine brings you the world's most detailed reliability and cost of ownership reviews for motorcycles. - Авто та транспорт

100% will. I love my DR200. So many smiles per miles. I'm the worst racer on the face of the planet, but I can sure go down those cow and game trails though.
Nice!!!
Friend has one sold his KDX220 which was street legal and bought a DR200
I myself just bought a street legal XR400 2003 absolutely mint condition with super motor Excel wheels guy past away pro motor cross guy his wife wanted it sold I did not even try to lowball the $1500.00 asking price!
A guy shows up in flannel, jeans, and Home Depot gloves pulling a dr200 on a harbor freight trailer with an old Kia. You laugh it off, going about your race day, thinking "what a goon!"
.
.
.
.
THEN YOU HEAR THE MEEEP MEEP AND HE RIPS AHEAD OF YOU WITH NO SEAT!
Lol... Omg I'm dieing laughing... This is the best video yet!!! The missing seat was the icing on the cake 🎂
These guys are awesome!!!
That horn sound is what nightmares are made of. Meeep meeeeeep!!! 😆
Wait when he ride the DR200 nemesis.......DR125
eveRide ADV hahahaaa
Ronnie mac drinks pabst. This guy needs a white claw sponsorship
Must be the ultimate humiliation;to hear a "beep, beep" as your $9000 bike gets passed by a doofus on an old DR 200 in jeans and shirt!
DR200, flannel shirt and jeans. What a legend.
They never saw it coming haha
@@TortureTestMagazine Only missing flip flops. EPIC
That’s the new FOX legend line for off road....
Having ridden all these trails I can confirm that this dude is a machine!! Zero regard for his own well-being, much less the bike. Good show!
Great now the prices for DR200's on Craigslist are up to $900.
Funny you mentioned that I was going to offer my buddies Uncle $800 for his that used to run but has been sitting for a couple of years and I'm hoping that $800 for a 2002 dr200 isn't an insult of an offer
@@laprepper Bruh they are 1500-2000 now. Newer ones are $2500-3500! Ooof. I ended up with a 87 dr125 in mint cond for $900 lol
Even early DR200s are going for almost $4k now in 2022
Next video: 1989 TW200 makes KTM’s cry at the Erzberg rodeo.
In all honesty it has the potential to... all the torque and traction
I used to ride a t dub
The little tractor that could.
"Theres the new crf250f... Looks fast" I'm dead lol
There's nothing quite like riding a slow bike fast😉
It's the best challenge haha
This is why I bought a dr200 lol my neighbour has only kicked his leg over his bike a handful of times in the past two years but can only talk about every other 300+cc bike in the world
trev firefy you know the old saying! “Slow is fast”.
Torture Test Magazine beeping the horn was a nice touch when you passed all the other riders !👍🏻
I ride a Honda CRF 230l but I love it!! Basically in the same category as the dr 200
You asked so much of the poor old girl and she delivered!! What a ride!
I love it...coming from a guy who owns a couple of KTM's. As my Grandpappy used to say, "Its not the bike its the rider." Keep these vids coming I will watch them all.
Haha thanks for watching!
90% Rider 10% Bike!
99% bike 1% slab of meat
Precisely you took my comment i was going to make
99% balls 1% man
YO PENSÉ LO MISMO
Oh yeah. So true, especially in the dirt bike world.
SUZUKI, pay this man!
Funny that you say that! Suzuki do actually pay people to ride their bikes, you can sign up on their website, enter where you've raced mx/ trail rides and what not. Log in your start and finish position or times, and you can work you way up the ranks, they start small, by paying you with engine oils and stuff, all the way up to big money! Suzuki are the only manufacturer to do this for there non factory riders! Such a good idea!
@@timfagan816 You mean this one: www.suzukicycles.com/Racing/Motocross/Contingency/TeamSuzuki.aspx
@@bertbroeder1832 yeah, that's the one. Although, our one in new Zealand, is slightly different. And simplified! Lol.
Kiwis eh. 🤣
I brought an rm-z250 from my local dealer in nz, and he got me to sign up to the Suzuki thing. And I get paid to take my bike out, but unfortunately it doesn't cover my area, of nz I live in. Cos I live in bum fuck nowhere. It's more for the major cities in nz.
4yrs later this is still gold, it will never get old. Legend status.
Who would have ever thought that watching a DR200 race would be so entertaining? I would have died on that wall ride section though... even the GoPro made that look sketchy!
Complete reckless abandon, that was some wild riding! The DR200 is truly an unstoppable force
Hahaha. It cannot be tamed.
God I wish they made a dr250
@@toad3222 is this a joke? If not then look at the older drz250's or dr250s. Great bikes. Drz250's had better mod potential with dohc though.
@@lakeshorerides they don't have them in my country, and I meant as a competitor to the wr250f/r of recent years
@@toad3222 ahh, gotcha. Didn't mean to come off like an asshole btw it was a genuine question. That sucks, have you tried looking into the new klx/klr's by Kawasaki?
I own a KTM AND a DR....You were lucky, yours came with ''Suzuki Sense''........It feels your fitness level and jettisons parts to drop the weight . . .WHILE YOU RIDE!
Ah, so this is the trademark for the intelligent weight savings mechanism. We were wondering. "Suzuki Sense" awesome.
Lmao 😂 I want one lol 😆
Actually laughed out loud at "Suzuki Sense" bahahaha
That is good
This is the best damn thing I have seen on Utube in a while. Freaking hilarious! Awesome ridding skills. The horn man LOL!!
Used to get smoked by a friend who rode a DR200 when I first switched to dirt. He re-affirmed the same rules I learned about tarmac. A good experienced rider on a cheap little bike is usually faster than an average rider on a top shelf machine. Great video! The sound of that horn and lazy exhaust note brings back good memories.
Man a lot of those "Ready to Race" KTMs sure seemed to be racing pretty well on the side of the trail!
I think what KTM means with that slogan is the bike is ready to give you the full race experience at any length of race. Even a 90 mile sprint like this one, the KTM will afford you the chance to make repairs during the race and require pit stops. Makes you feel like you're racing the Baja. Good for training but if you actually want to be competitive, better grab a DR200.
Lol lol. I’ve own KTMs since the early 90s and have two in my garage now one is a 2003 and the other a 2007. Zero issues riding harescramble races and hard play riding for years. I’ve had a Drz 400 the pig. Not a bad bike but did have some mechanical issues and the Drz line can’t even compare to KTM. My KTMs never left me on the side of a trail but my DRZ did.
“Keep Throwin’ Money!”
@Moto two alot of people can't look after their bikes and automatically blame it on the brand it's hilarious
@Moto two I don't know what experiences you've had but I'm on my 14th second hand KTM since I started riding a long time ago, all of them varied greatly in condition and not one of them gave me an issue. I've never even seen inside the motor of any of my KTMs besides changing oil filters and the odd exhaust gasket if that even counts, I raced and play rode all of them and they never let me down. I currently also own a Yamaha which has gave me nothing but bother but I'm putting that down to age rather than the manufacturer, perhaps you should try owning a few KTMs before making these criticism 😉 have fun and ride safe
FYI, with a very minor modification, the oil cooler from the RV200 vanvan bolts right on. The bike will run cooler.
The value of 2nd hand DR200s just doubled
Uh oh. How will I afford my next race bike?!
@@TortureTestMagazine klx250 time......
Dale Paddon
New ones, especially old models on showroom floor, are so cheap, why would you bother with used? Unless your wife/mom/wallet/lender won’t allow the purchase?
This confirms most buy bikes out of their league.
True. Me too. Because the dr200 is out of my league, but in the opposite sense lol
@@TortureTestMagazine curious to your thoughts on sherco, ive got a 2016 250 sef R factory, and its way out of my league. but id love to hear what thoughts you have on one, assuming you can find one to try...
@@chuckyplays8477 I haven't tried one yet but if I do, I'll make a video. Unfortunately I'm not super brand friendly because I destroy stuff and in my reviews I give an honest evaluation, so nobody has ever agreed to let me have a bike yet, though I've tried and actually got to talking with brands. Once they see my stuff, they're out.
Dr is an Ag-bike ffs. But if you were to travel around the world it would probably get you there and back
Yep. I'll be honest, I have not ridden in 20 years. The next bike I buy will likely be a little 200 or something easy to handle for the first year or two. Maybe a PW50, we'll see.
I ride a dr200 as a commuter and for chill trail rides, seeing a good rider on one stomp like this is so satisfying! thanks for taking one out like this
This is the idea that i've been pitching on different YT channels: Put a hardcore or well experienced rider on an underperforming bike and see how he/she fares with it. Please keep videos like these coming!
Also, a few questions:
What gear were you usually putting the bike under different conditions (say sand for example).
What was your approach on steep uphills? just pin it and keep momentum?
It would be great if you did more of this with some inside thoughts besides what you posted every now and then. Still, amazing run.
bump. Do a series explaining technique for underperfoming low cc motorcycles!
@@jaime7890 The technique seems to be keep the throttle pinned.
It was a mix of 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Any time I tried to touch 5th, I started losing speed. The bike basically topped out in 3rd in the sand. There were a few steep climbs and I would do my best to bomb up them and maintain momentum, but I got bucked 50% of the time and would end up crawling up in first or second lol. Some of them were first or second gear from the start because they were technical climbs out of a turn with no run up. Unfortunately I didn't catch most of the race in video, because those technical areas are where I passed large groups of people. The DR200 would tractor up crap like it was cheating. The bike just doesn't stall. I'll do an in depth review on the bike and I'll definitely discuss everything!
Most of these bigger channels are compensated to pimp new bikes and gear
@@musguelha14 Back in my wilder day's we called this the balls out theory.........worked best when playing Atari, less bumps and bruises and broken bones that way.
I have seen the light! Selling my KTM and buying 6 DRs ASAP!
Way to be!!!!
I personally recommend the 350!
Yet more proof that it's not the ride, but the rider that makes a good racer.
Dr 200 for sale:
“Never raced or ridden hard”
LOL I'm dead
After every video like that the prize will rise. Put it on sale later... ;-)
Adult owned
Only raced once...
Trophy winner.
Had an 89 dr200 and that bike had an indestructible motor. And in 89 that thing made good power for a 200cc four stroke. I bought spit my food out when I seen the title. GREATEST MOTO VIDEO OF ALL TIME!!! LOVE IT MAN!
I can feel the suspension bottom out from here 😆
Lol! My back still feels it too, several days later!
You aren't getting enough credit man. You are an incredible rider. Great job
Ripping!!!!!! Man I laughed every time you hit the horn. Awesome job man!
I love watching races like this. Just proves to me more and more I don't need a brand new beast of a bike to have fun on. Even though I still get tempted. Keep up the good work.
Go used for offroad man, learn from my mistake. You're gonna be dropping that thing so may as well
I absolutely love it when low budget simplicity destroys uppity expensive high tech. Reminds me of that Rocky movie where Rocky trains out in the freezing woods and fights the Russian who has been training in the high tech gym, and whips his butt.
I should make a race day edit using the rocky theme song haha
@@TortureTestMagazine That would be awesome!!!
Paul Schonschack Only difference is that this was real, not a movie 😀
I was howling every time you hit the horn! Well done!
A few years ago I had the pleasure of passing a few KTM riders on a '78 DT400 Yamaha Dual sport.
This reminded me of the experience!
Truly impressive riding!!! I have to say.... despite it's missing seat, "flexible handling", and a clutch that melted before you even passed your first victim, that little $800 bike got it done! Kinda reminds me of when Guy Cooper got a top ten finish at the Tecate Enduro on a DR 350 and podium at the Alligator Enduro on a DRS250!
"Got the hole shot"......now that's hilarious......!! Great riding!! Bet ya had $800 worth of fun! Had fun watching...thanks!
Everything feels faster riding a low cc low power output bike it's great fun
Truth!
You guys made me laugh so hard with the holeshot stuff!!! 😂😂😂 Then arrived without the seat!! Darn good video!! Keep them coming!
Epic. I couldn't stop laughing at both the ridiculousness of that dual sport, and the insane speeds that you were riding it. You bottomed so hard!
Dude you almost twisted that throttle OFF. The horn literally had my laughing in tears hahahahahaha. Funnest video I've seen in a LONG LONG time.
I always win the long distance/one tank of fuel only races on my DR200. So far, I've always been the only one to finish :). And of course had to get a T-Shirt.
Yeah haha who needs a Chase team to bring fuel when you're getting 70MPG 😂 thanks for your order!!
Extraño mi DR 200
I am a DR200 owner, lover/hater and just found your channel... Where have I been?!!!
You rock!
Now it's time for me to go out to the garage and throw that stock carb away that I have been fighting with for years.
The issue with the shock is that you blew though the compression damping on it and there was energy still stored in the spring. It bounces you like a pogo stick and the seat will hit you in the butt enough to toss you over the bars.
😂 the horn! OMG! You’re killing me! Way to kill off those KTM’s. I’m taking my DR350 to my first enduro this weekend! Can’t wait.
Nice!!! Go collect some KTM tears
This is the gold that the internet was invented for. Thank you sir
And for no reason suzuki DR200 used sales skyrocket threw the roof
Seriously awesome vid and a seriously good rider. I wouldn't have believed that could be done on a DR200!
That was funny as hell. I wasn’t expecting the seat to be gone!😂🤣 Should of used your turn signals!😂🤣😂
i think this is my new favorite youtube video :D please make more DR200 content!!
I just couldn’t stop watching. Very impressed. Looked like fun but I know how hard you were working!
The honking cracks me up :)
Just bought a 2002 DR200SE and one of your shirts bro, Mucho support to you and the mighty DR200!!!
Man you Rode that DR like a BOSS!!!! I feel like selling my Beta 300RR and getting a DR200!!!!! Thanks for the video
Shits and giggles aside: a good reliable machine with a superior rider beats better equipment with lesser riders!
Brave fast guy, it was a fun video to watch!
So awesome to see you show up in a small bore air cooled bike. You absolutely killed it!
Dude I ride a DR200S everyday.... my profile pic is of mine❤️❤️❤️❤️ thank you for this video.
Keep it up bro
Great Video, fun to watch, nice work on the little DR. I always say you don't need the latest and greatest bike if you have talent and desire to win. Excellent!
The horn was classic!!
It's the dr200's secret weapon
This my be the greatest thing on UA-cam I have seen all year. Also, great job proving that having more horsepower is worse than not enough.
Hahah, you're welcome. Thanks for watching and commenting
Such a great video. I’ve wanted to do an enduro race on my DR650 just to see where we’d end up.
There should be many flowers blooming along that trail from all the KTM tears that fell!😂
To get the authentic dr200 experience, it's mandatory to play this video at 2x speed 👌
What an awesome video my man keep it up!
Fantastic! A buddy brought one to Death Valley this year and railed on it. Most if it even made it back to camp.
You've got a ton of great videos - but this is by far my favorite.
Lol thank you
Foooking hauling ass at 8:10. Wow man. Just wow. Keep that stuff up! 👍💪🤘
Great video, haven't laughed this hard in a long time, thanks!
What a BA! Awesome video 👏🏻 🏆
Well done young man ! Great skills
If this isn't the 30th time I've binge watched all of your videos admiring the full send and the crushing of KTMs
More KTM tears coming soon. I just prepped my race bike for 2020 season and it ain't no liquid cooled thing 😉
Videos like this are what make YT worth watching....i fkn love this
An authentic survival machine. Congrats for your courage and reliable motorcycle
That dude will have a KTM sponsorship by the weekend.
Hay man love your video and Dr200 I've got a Dr200 for my farm and its amazing gose like the wind beautiful bike
Such a good video!! But seriously how does a foot peg come loose. Lol.
Learnt how to ride on a DR200 on the beach (West coast)in Aotearoa NZ. Will always have a place in my heart.
I can't stop phawkin laughing! Your riding skills are on point & this is by far, one of the best vids I have watched in a LONG TIME! That horn! Bruh, and when the bike died in the middle of a pass, was EPIC! Subbed! Liked! Commented! Trifecta of gratitude for this YT viewing orgasm!
That is hugely flattering. Thank you good sir!
Ah, I remember that day ; I showed up on my 98 DR 350SE and decided to let you deliver KTM tears for me. Well done
You sacrificed the dr like Aztecs sacrificed virgins lol
Haha, I LOVE that horn! Well done!
I've owned lots of bikes over the years, big and small, including a DR 650, but my very favorite is my '06 DR 200.
As a KTM owner (and biiiiiig Honda fan (had two of them, more to come) I must say: great job sir! I enjoy seeing "underdogs" winning!
Heck yeah! Next time we got to get you lined up on the AA wave!
That would be extra hilarious. I will strive to qualify for AA so that I can do just that.
Absolutely legendy....I am going to be looking over my shoulder while riding now waiting for a beep.. beep. Damn DR200
Might have been the best riding video out there especially for a a dr200.rider got skill for sure!
Awesome Vid ! I was lucky enough to land a 2006 Suzuki Dr200 just a while ago here in South Africa, with only 96km on the clock. Came in on a Container from North Africa somewhere. It is stock standard, still with the original tyres ! I have put the poor girl through some rough terrain here, with the very little skills I have, riding with KTM's and all sorts. It still blows my mind what she is capable of !
Hmmm... mud or rocks? ROCKS!
OmG Dude you absolutely kilt’em. Very enjoyable video. Go Zuke200!
Simple and nice content... I prefer this fresh take. Try the Suzuki dr 350. I use for dual sport the drz 250 and the Dr 350. The Dr is, for me the best dual sport from those days. Electric start, decent power, 6 gear helps a lot in the tarmac. Sure, can be improved a lot, but it's versatility is really a strong point.
Just put money down on an old farm dr200 and these videos have really blown my mind about all the stuff I'm not even remotely capable of doing on it.
Bro... this should have millions of views... I thought the title and captions were a joke... this is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen... has no one from Suzuki contacted you? How are the views so low?
This guy is an Excellent rider!! Fun video ..No Fear !!
😂🤣 Awesome!!, Did you have any fork fluid left in those crappy tubes?? That had to be harsh on the body. Totally destroyed any ego of all you passed.
It sure feels like there's nothing but air in those things! It was pretty rough. I got a little hurt. Had a few crashes. Made it to the end though!
extremely nice riding dude!!!! not the machines but the driver rocks!!!;)
Poetry in motion. Watching this from a cold gray winters day in the UK. Fantastic riding (I'm a DR650RS owner) beep beep, get outa my way .
Jim that was amazing bro. As a farmhand I rode a dr200 trojan model. Best in class👍😁. This or the kdx? Personal preference? Great video man.
One slightly used well taking care of DR 200! Meep meep!!!!
He reminds me of Scott Summers smoking everyone on his XR
Great bike to start and have some cheap fun
Must be the Pro Taper Bars. That was sick!
