My granddad has a 1962 B18 Amazon that has been sitting for over 25 years and I have started fixing it and almost got it running today! It is dirty and full of rat pee but I love it.
Excellent talent my friend. Such a memorable evening shooting with you. Thank you for sharing my story and my passion. Special mention of my amazing wife who without her support and patience I would have never seen this to the end.
Great video and lovely looking car. I think You and me are the same when you said you like everything car related including diecast. Well that’s me also 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! The wheels are authentic Shelby Cobra Halibrands 15x7 knock off wheels. They require a simple bolt on hub conversion. The steering wheel is from Volkswagen aftermarket company Flat 4. I used a Grant CJ5 adapter with a modified spacer boss. Hope that helps!
Nice video and great looking car. I have a 1966 121 myself. What kind of side mirrors did you put on the car? They look nice. Do they also offer a better view than the original side mirrors?
Engine is upgraded from a standard B18 to a later B20 with B21 pistons to bring displacement to 2130cc. Mild head work, torque camshaft, and sport exhaust. Induction is handled by twin Weber 45mm DCOEs on a set of long runner manifolds. Output is around 120/120. Check out Car Tales or R32rennsport on Instagram for pictures!
Thank you! It's from the aircooled VW supplier Empi/Flat4, it's their premium GTV steering wheel. Same diameter as original, much like the 123GT wheel. I used a Grant steering adapter from an early CJ5 as it has the same spline count. I made a spacer to move it away from the indicator stock as well.
I was going to ask the same - beautiful wheel that is featured throughout the video. It’s fitting that it’s of VW origins given the owners backstory. My first several cars were beetles too.
This car has a late B20 from a 142S bored over to use B21 pistons, 2130cc displacement. Mild 9.5 to 1 compression, stage 2 cylinder head, KG10 camshaft and steel cam gears. Induction is x2 45 DCOE Webers mated to VCS replica long runner intakes. All this is mated to late J Type M41 Overdrive transmission. Power is sent to a fully built Dana 27/30 hybrid with Spicer limited slip differential.
“Driving Tastefully,” eh? A great video filling a bit of a Petrolicious void. Subscribed!
Appreciate that!
There is only one thing to say about this car, "Beautiful".
Absolutely beautiful scenery! And I love the car, an Amazon -66 was my first car.

Nice. Good luck with the project 😉
How is the project going man
Really beautiful story. Can't wait to restore and get my own 1964 Amazon running!
What a gorgeous car. I'd love one. I own a 72 Camaro but people are always shocked when I say I want an Amazon or a 66 Fastback
This shows if you are determined you can accomplish your goal of owning a classic car
The art, beauty, opera and power of Volvo from Gothenburg in Sweden, it's so great to see in rest of the world. 🌏🚗🖼🔊🎼🎶🇸🇪❤😁
An Awesome Automobile in the hands of an Awesome Car Guy! 👍
Thanks 👍🏻
What a truly beautiful car!
Excellent talent my friend. Such a memorable evening shooting with you. Thank you for sharing my story and my passion. Special mention of my amazing wife who without her support and patience I would have never seen this to the end.
Beautiful! The new Petrolicious. I've got an old P1800 that I eventually will restore....someday.

Just awesome mate
Perfect, as always
Está PERFECTO, ése Volvo: lo único, sabés qué: sácale ésos cuatro reflectores, así queda perfectamente original
Thanks! I can agree with your taste, they are nice to have on dark roads at night, original lighting is pretty dim.
Brilliant!
Have a nice trip guy !
Nice video and great looking car. I have a 1966 121 myself. What kind of side mirrors did you put on the car? They look nice. Do they also offer a better view than the original side mirrors?
Thanks! As for the mirrors they are just ornaments, totally useless as installed. Need to modify or relocate them.
Nice poetic experience for us to enjoy but it would of been nice to inform us on the vehicle specs along with showing the engine.
Super!
Exquisit
What engine do u have, any modifications which exhaust you put really amazing car I'm planning on get one too
B20 bored to 2130cc with twin sidedraft Webers. Simon's 2 inch sport exhaust.
Hi There, beautiful car,! Can i know where you got the wheels?
Thank you! Wheels are American Racing VN309s, 15x7. I custom painted the spokes darker. I also had the center caps specifically machined to my design.
@@R32RennSportThey look amazing. What offset and tire sizes do you have?
@@epie Offset was close to 0 if I recall, tire size was 205/60/15
What steering wheel you have on it
Flat 4 Empi GTV 15 inch with Grant steering adapter. Some custom machining to the boss spacer to get proper spacing.
The wheel looks great. I am trying to keep my Amazon close to original but I might make an exception for a steering wheel like that!
That's somewhere in California? Woha
It's a very lightly traveled scenic back road on the central coast that connects the coastal inland valley to the PCH.
Credoooo que bom gosto só sucesso pelo video assim kkkkkk
superbe
What mods did you make under the hood?

You got the old style grille, it’s stronger than the laters
Oooooh. That beast is so sexy. Love Volvo😍😍 Love the story
😎
Not a fan of the B18 tbh.
