Most trucks that were made with aluminum frames are long gone. The electrolysis got to the frame and it was worse in the northeast than in the south. Frames would brake behind engine mounts and suspension mounts make sure that this truck does not have hidden problems be for you put too much time into it. The top rail where the fifth wheel was is another problem place. the frame will look great you pull the fifth wheel frame off and there not much aluminum rail left under there. I know of a fleet of 60 trucks that had to be scrapped be for they were 7 years old for this problem. It was a real problem and that is why today we don't see frames from aluminum anymore. I've got an old Detroit brochure that has specs on all the engines....the 12V71 with C60 injectors would have made 434bhp@2100RPM@60°F and 420bhp@2100RPM@85°F, and 1145 lb.ft.@1200RPM@85°F. With C65 or N65 injectors, those figures go to 475bhp@2100RPM@60°F and 456bhp@2100RPM@85°F and 1200 lb.ft.@1200RPM@85°F. If you want, I can send you the brochure, it's pretty cool.

A fantastic truck this.... seems to have wads and wads of cabled up air, wiring... seems to be more than usual eh? Love it though. Going to up the injector size.. Turbo look all right? Didn't see one on the passenger side but could be the other side with the V12 set up I guess or whatever [always seem to be on the passenger side of the tractor with the in line motors]. Beyond cool though! Nice Work! REmember Luke at US Coach in Jersey sells rebuild kits for this motor if you want to do an in frame and freshen up the rings and bearings... yada yada :-)
No turbos on this truck bud, she's a natural. Prolly leave it alone for now.
@@Ol2Stroker Oh the possibilities eh? lol I can hear it cranking over in the future and it sounding like the world is coming to an end lmao Such a fab engine and truck. A bit bouncy on the springs but you could always drop in a couple of airbags in the future he-he Can't wait to see what you do with it. Be sweet to see you tanking her for a road voyage :-) Nice!
I had 4 K w s with v12 71 series with automatic 10 speed tra
Great stuff man, awesome!
Thats an unusual truck but its cool as shit looking truck…. Please restore it and keep it original … the bedding area is awesome and get those lights working .. nice truck man
You need some concrete slabs to work on instead of laying down in dirt wayne 🤘🤘🤘
You aint kiddin. Once this things running/driving im finishing the truck shop.
Always loved those cabovers! Was started out on a Kenworth K-100 then later a CruiseLiner series Mack. That's all there was then. I'd like to see how a lotta those huge, fat boys, that you always see tearing up the Petro or Flying J buffet, climb up in a cabover!
Haha! Probably tear the rear out of those stretched out sweat pants they always wear.
Rock on bro!
Nothing sounds better than a well tuned Detroit. Had to sub. By the way what year is your suburban?
Thanks Geoffrey! Suburban is an 86 and was originally a 6.2 diesel and th400 now is mild built LS and 4l80e
Awesomeness!
Only problem with those front bushings is if they don't get moved every once in while the rubber will deteriirate
Love the videos
I think with 10k into this Truck, it will look nice again, maybe 15k with nice paintings, its worth it. 🤔🇺🇸👍
Lol. Maaaaaan I'm gonna have 10k in air lines and tires.
Hell yea!!
@@Ol2Stroker I'll shoot you an email tonight then (I'm in Idaho, so it's 4:15 PM right now). I actually have two pdf brochures....they're from 1977, but I seriously doubt the figures changed from '73.
10-4 thanks brother.
Need a flywheel housing and flywheel for my 12v92 Has an industrial housing now Whatcha got?

Where in Maryland did you go to pick-up the truck?
Man I knew you were probably a local upstate dude when I saw the Mooradian shirt, then you mentioned D&W so yeah you're definitely an upstate guy lol. Small world, I live and work in Colonie. When you mentioned NAPA and their high ass prices, I had to laugh. Probably talking about the shitty ass warehouse in Wolf Rd... some of the worst service in that store despite the machine shop, paint shop, etc. Almost every time I'm stuck going there I'm usually there for at least an hour even if it's a simple thing. What a small world though. Crazy you're from Sm-Albany area. That is a kick ass cabover for sure. Just stumbled across your channel and I dig it bro. Keep up the good work and keep the cool ass content coming! 👍😎
Thanks man, sure is a small world. Only good thing about the napa warehouse is the hot girl at the paint counter 🤣🤣🤣
