how did no one tell me i spelled polaroid wrong in the title of this video and left it like that for a day lol. PS: I forgot to mention the Polaroid Now does NOT have a tripod mount on the bottom of the camera.
I’ve always used Fujifilm and never Polaroid because of how expensive it is. Until a couple days ago, I used my friends camera at a beach party and MAN. The difference in build quality and that soft, dreamlike look that Polaroid has unlike Fujifilm is something that just can’t be copied. The price and development time of it turned me off but now I really want one
Instax films have always been so reliable and almost perfect at all times, but it makes most photos look cold and greenish tint. Polaroid looks like something that exists in the 80's which is awesome.
Found your channel after looking for reviews of the Fujifilm Instax Wide, and honestly, you're getting me back into photography and into film photography. And the references your videos have are killer, your videos are so freakin entertaining. That being said, I never heard of a Polaroind camera lol.
So glad to hear you dig what I'm doing. And even more glad to hear you're doing more film/photography stuff because of this!! That's awesome, and honestly means a ton to me.
Nice vid, I have all 3 and dig them all for different moments ... the "Now" hasn't lived up to my hopes, but I will admit that I only have run one pack through , the plus is currently my fave for the manual mode!!!
I think the Plus might be my favorite in terms of creativity, but the Now is my favorite in terms of the spontaneous, 'not thinking about it' sort of shooting. But yeah! Definitely agree with all 3 for different occasions.
Polaroid Now owner and so glad you made this video. I def want the point and shoot life. And I'm so happy to learn that double exposure is a capability with the Now!!!
I just got mine and I have no idea all the techniques with it, I thought it just didn’t have those options since there weren’t designated buttons for them, THANK YOU!!
Thank you, this was the last push I needed to go for the one step+. Super excited to try it! Also thanks for learning the metric system haha that def helped me understand!
I ended up opting for the OneStep 2 as this is my first camera, I don't want to fiddle with bluetooth and settings on my phone, and I've heard of people having exposure issues with the Now
I’ve been told I take great pictures with my phone, so I’m considering getting a Polaroid Now for my Senior year of high school! It’d be nice to have some physical pictures (other than yearbook stuff) to remember high school life, haha.
Excellent vid tons of info loved it man! I use the One step closeup, but after this video I might have to pick up a One step+. I had no idea that they had so much functionality thanks!
A fantastic comparison video! I’ve been meaning to upgrade from my Sun600 LMS with the flash now broken :( But thank you for this fun, brief and easy review+comparison video.
I got the Polaroid OneStep2 with the Viewfinder for my birthday in March 2020, it's been my daily film camera ever since. I charge mine once a week, battery lasts a few packs of film no problem
Hey Lou! Just planning on getting a onestep +. I was really worried about the film. But now watching your video I feel a lot confident about this camera. Thanks a lot!
It's been much better this year!! Very happy to say that. I even caved and picked up a pack from target, and that worked. (One frame was bad though) But in my experience, going straight through Polaroid, storing in the fridge and shooting in a timely manner has yielded very consistent, good results!! Good luck with it, and enjoy the camera :)
Hey Lou! I have a One Step+ and I've been using only i-type film( with the white borders) but I don't like how my photos turn out. I have to learn about exposure and the best one for the environment I'm in but apart from that, the pictures turn out to be way toooo vintage-y(I don't know if that makes sense but yeah that's what it does). Funny thing is, I bought the camera to add that vintage touch to my photos but it's just too much*tears*. It might due to the fact that I bought the film in 2019(a pack of 5 boxes which will last up until probably June/July 2021 bc I have 1 pack left) and newer versions might be better. But, in your opinion which film type is the best you've shot with, with One Step+ that gives you a mix of a vintage and modern vibe? And what film did you use at 5:13 and 5:25? BTW your videos are AMAZING! It's so sad how underrated you are :(
Chillaxing on the couch atm, considering getting back into creative photography after many years hiatus...instant cameras appeal once again after their initial heyday. Awesome and informative vid. Polaroid? Instax? Lomography? So many choices!
One Step + is a pretty sweet modern Polaroid camera. I took my current profile picture with it. If you use portrait mode in the app it will actually tell you if you're standing close enough for the proper focus.
This is a very comprehensive review. Can anyone clarify if there is a way to validate exposure control and focus with the one-step + with the naked eye? Can you see f-stop adjustments with the viewfinder or would you not know until the photo came out? To me, this is the biggest deciding factor between which camera I buy. I wouldn't want to walk around with a light meter to determine if I had perfect exposure or guess and get it wrong, wasting film.
hey there, thanks much. You can't see f-stop adjustments through the VF on the One Step+ it's literally just a plastic window for composition. So yes, you would have to wait and see until the photo comes out. But you can set exposure via the bluetooth connection- I actually did a full review of that camera too if you're interested.
Really appreciate your reviews man! Informative and hilarious! I'm trying to decide between the Polaroid onestep+ and Fuji wide 300 right now.. Curious which you would recommend out of the two? 🙏
I actually did review the Fuji Instax wide maybe two years ago?? I forget lol. (ua-cam.com/video/tscGiCT64WM/v-deo.html) At the time, I would have easily recommended the Fuji, because of the film. 2 years ago, Polaroid film was very unreliable. I used to just get packs that didn't work at all. In 2020, Polaroid film is much more stable. I've had consistent results ordering from Polaroid, and using the film in a timely manner. That said, Fuji Instax Film seems to be more stable, and less finicky. Meaning you don't need to worry so much about temperature and crap like that. Fuji Wide is also a bigger frame than Polaroid. The Fuji Instax Wide camera is also wayyyy bigger than the Polaroid cameras. And last but probably most important, the prices. The Instax film is typically cheaper than Polaroid. But the instax wide film in my experience is usually harder to find than Polaroid. Like if you're going to Target or whatever. I'd recommend buying directly from Polaroid anyway, but if you value just going to the store and picking up film, while Instax is cheaper typically, the wide format can be tough to find. All that to say I think at this point, the big question you need to answer is: how big do you want the photo to be? And how big do you want the camera to be? And how much do you want to pay for the film? Hope that helps, sorry I wrote a mini-novel lol
Do it!! Would love to see what you come up with. Hopefully you got the film this year, it feels like the 2020 formula has been more reliable than the older stuff
I’ve been thinking of instant cameras for a while and have just been watching different reviews, yours stuck out. But I want to know if you have experienced any Kodak Instant cameras?
Thanks buddy ... How about Fuji Instax bro .....this was all about Polaroid .... Do you have any suggestions reading reviews in other sites made me little confused about the warranty and support the Polaroid offers ...would like to know from you if possible
Glad you dig it- I've done a few instax vids in the past if you look through my uploads. I reviewed the Instax Mini 9, the Instax Wide, and the Instax Share SP2. Working on a vid about the Square SQ6, to be released in a month or two (have other stuff to do first) Not too sure about Polaroid warranties, sorry about that
Hi! Thanks so much for taking the time to review these cameras! I would love to incorporate an instant film photo during my outdoor Family sessions ( with small kiddos usually) would you have a suggestion for me? I was looking at the onestep+ and the Fuji wide. Thank you!!

If you're planning on using a tripod with it. I would get the one step Plus. The now doesn't have a tripod mount. I happen to like the Bluetooth functions of the One-Step + as well.
Great video! So, i'm about to buy my first polaroid and i can't really decide between the OneStep+ and the Now. I feel like i'm gonna mess up a lot more with the Onestep+ but i'd like the bluetooth features. What's your advice for a noob? Thanks :D
they have different uses- 600 is for the modern Polaroids along with the vintage models. The i-type film doesn't work on the vintage cameras (due to the battery). Since 2020 my experience ordering direct from Polaroid, storing in the fridge and shooting the film in a timely manner both films seem to perform about the same
is it safe to assume that now (no pun intended) the Now+ is probably the one to go for unless you really really want physical controls? just seems like the new Now but with bluetooth back again
I gotta make an updated vid now, adding in the Go and Now+ Long story short, you kinda hit the nail on the head. I really like the Now+ and it feels like a happy combination of the One Step+ and the Now.
I'm Italian too!! Hahaha. So here's my too long didn't watch opinion. If you want a point and shoot, don't think about it type of experience, go for the Polaroid Now. If you want creative control of exposure, long exposures, etc, go for the One Step+ Hope that helps
Hi! I just found your UA-cam channel while doing research for buying my first instant film camera. I was wondering if you would be willing to give me your opinion on what would be the best fit for me? I'm currently between the Polaroid Onestep+ and the Polaroid Now (you mentioned hoping they would put out a Now+ in your review video of just the Now,, which would honestly be ideal) I am into the just point and shoot for fun with the Now, but love the ideas of the creative Bluetooth options and the overall look of the Onestep+. I don't know what to do! I am also open to other brands, if there is a better one. I just want the best camera, vintage look, square film, but not cheap and typical like most casual shooters have (like the instax mini...too basic for me)
I imagine they do make lens caps, maybe a third party does? But in my experience, I never really worry about it. The lens is recessed far enough that I feel like you would have to really try to scratch it
I have the 90s one step found it in a thrift store lol and like yoooo my film keeps jamming 😭😭😭 I’m trying take my maternity photos with it for my baby journal
I would say try cleaning the rollers, polaroid has vids on their website. If you have chemical build up on there (since its from the 90s the rollers might be cruddy) that might be why they get stuck. I had a polaroid spectra acting up, and a quick roller cleaning made it work like new. Hope that helps, best of luck
Can someone with a polaroid now confirm its viewfinder problems? I can’t choose between the + and the now and this seems to be the deciding factor. Your reply will be highly appreciated!
It's not horrendous, but I have had issues typically when I'm closer to an object. For example I mention the wall that popped up into the shot. I was rather close to that wall, I think the closer you get to obstacles like that, the easier it is to goof up framing. A few of my friends who have it said the same thing/had similar experiences
This is a great video thanks, my wife has the one step + which was great until my first picture in France after a few vinos and snapped the frog tongue. I also realised I lost the front door type holder and its impossible to get a spare part so now its ready for the bin after being used twice. Rant over
A portable printer for a smart phone is the best you can do. You would need to have the guts of a smartphone to upload digitally. Wifi Chips, 4g Chip Processor for handling the encoding from analog to digital.
By far the most helpful review I've seen. You explained it well plus the sample pictures for each camera. Well done! By the way, the opening clip is very ugly! Haha!
I’ve literally been waiting for someone to make this video.
happy to help ;)
🙌🏼SAME!
how did no one tell me i spelled polaroid wrong in the title of this video and left it like that for a day lol. PS: I forgot to mention the Polaroid Now does NOT have a tripod mount on the bottom of the camera.

Getting my wife one for Christmas and it sounds like the Now is what she needs.

Polaroid Now owner and so glad you made this video. I def want the point and shoot life. And I'm so happy to learn that double exposure is a capability with the Now!!!
I just put up my Polaroid Now review too actually. Best of luck with the camera!!
Does the now have a timer? And also, it's almost impossible to get a tripod stand attachment for the now so it can go on a tripod
How can you make double exposure?
this was such a helpful video ! i was really in between cameras since I’m new in the Polaroid game but I’m glad I clicked this video 👍🏻

Hello from 2022 it's a really useful video and you've helped me choose the Polaroid now
Thank you so much! Also decided!!! Yay! Amazing video and your professional view!
I gotta tell you I love your channel!
That means a lot, thank you!
I really hope they decide to bring back the folding flash design for their next line of cameras
You got me liked and subscribed when you said the word “Marauder”!

Thanks much!! I have a sun 600 as well, that camera is killer!!
In the other videos about the Polaroid now it's been pointed out that there is no tripod mount. Hopefully they'll revise it and put one on.
Yep that's already in my notes for my review of the Now, but I should have mentioned that in this vid. Thanks for pointing that out
Love the beard man! Also, coffee for breakfast.
oooooh thanks bud ;) breakfast of champs
I really love how you create your video! I really enjoyed it and it helped me a lot! Thanks!
thanks for this video 🙏 what charging ports do they use?
They all use usb type a (same one for ps4 controllers if that helps lol)
Super helpful review, liked and subscribed 🤘

Which polaroid film is better? I-type or 600?
they have different uses- 600 is for the modern Polaroids along with the vintage models. The i-type film doesn't work on the vintage cameras (due to the battery). I actually don't really have a cool way of displaying them. Any advice?
I got my one-step 2 from target for 30 dollars because it was priced wrong lol. It works great
