    I haven't seen anyone try this yet. Get two packs of film (try it first with the packs that have the built in battery), place both packs inside a dark bag or dark room. Proceed to remove 1 frame (as a test) from one of the packs, and then try inserting it into the already full pack, thus making it a 9 pack. If you can take 1-3 shots without having the film jam as it exits the camera, try filling the pack back up again, but this time with 10 shots (which would be just like the way the old original Polaroid film packs were produced).

    @5:18 there is a picture of the sun. If you would do this with an instax camera, the sun would have turned up into a black spot. That is sonething what a really hate about Instax. Would you say a good Polaroid camera would be better at all?

    Hey Chris!, I had an idea recently. Instead of swapping the old battery, Place two 2032 coin cell batteries corresponding to the contacts, then connect the coin cells with aluminum tape. The voltage should be 6V in series. This method reduces the bulk of the film pack. Also, 2032 coin cells are widely available. I don't have a suitable camera to apply this idea but I love to see you try it.

    • @writerpatrick
      @writerpatrick Рік тому +1

      You would need a wire or foil connecting the two and place them in opposite directions. You might also try applying them to a piece of cardboard.

    Dark bag is a straight jacket!!! My first camera was a Colorpack II and it cane with a "cold clip" to put the pull apart film in ... it was basically an allunminum and you were supposed to put the put the peel apart film in and put under your armpit to keep warm ... you may be on to something!!! I miss the old opening with the pixels!!!

    I live and die by the - 600 Battery taped to the back of the I-type cartridge
    ( *BE WARNED THOUGH* that some parts on some cameras can get in the way, luckily they're often redundant parts which aren't necessary with the *modern* polaroid cartridges, for example, when I pulled out a taped battery cartridge from my SLR-680, it half ripped out the forwardmost metal prongs. I was able to completely remove it by popping it off the last rivet and letting it just fall out, and the camera worked 100% again with my method, and even easier this time) - But this is the *only* time I've had an issue with using the battery method 😁
    It did make me think I had totally destroyed the camera though until someone told me all i did was damage a redundant and useless part that wasnt needed for the camera anymore, so, phew!

    My friend!!! Get yourself a film shield / frog tongue!!! I effin PROMISE you that all of the opacification errors (light streaks) on the film goes away COMPLEEEETELY. I was hesitant at first about installing one, but ever since I put it in, I never had a light leak ever again :0

    How many photos will each of these batteries do? I may 600 convert my one step and just repack the 5 new film packs I have with I type film over and over again if I could get maybe 24-32 photos from each battery it’d be worth it imo then I’d just buy 600 film and repack those once it’s empty with more I type film

      There’s factors you need to take into account. One uses both itype AND 600 film for instance that being the onestep+ but the camera is going to cost a lot more than a older 600 camera. If it’s going to be your first polaroid camera I would go with a older one to see if you like shooting polaroid.
