He went on to join The Eagles solidifying their stays as rockers . You should check out Hotel California , Lying eyes ( steel guitar ) and Take it to the limit . You won’t be disappointed.

There's an ironic melancholy to this song that gets me. Sensing a hollowness to his life despite knowing how blessed he is with money and fame and admiration.
Don wrote both guitar parts to Hotel California and taught Joe his part. I think the acoustic version from Hell Freezes Over is better than the electric version.
LOVED watching the two of them do this song together. one night in a fit of strange Irish humor I re wrote the song leaving the first part the same and then re did the second part(here is a little bit) I have a mansion, forget the price-Now I live off of top ramon noodles and rice. I love it when musicians play with their music. You can tell he was having fun, different music styles, long solos, funny lyrics. Nothing here is formula and yet it is GOLD!
To quote Don Henley, “Joe Walsh is a strange bunch of fellows”. LOL. Joe Walsh’s lights might be blinking, his gates may be down...BUT THAT TRAIN AINT COMIN!!
Me too, love the quote. I was thinking always loved his unusual way of layering of sounds that don't go together but they do, must be because of his personality.

I was just watching a 2012 performance where he was breaking down how he made the song and when he got to that part he said “fans send me emails tell I’m great” lol
Ah! I knew there was an alternate lyric to that part. When I lived in the dorms (USAF), my roommate had both versions of it. He also had both versions of the last Lynard Skynyrd album, one with the flames and the other without the flames. If you don't know what that means, be prepared to go down a UA-cam rabbit hole, Alice.

The line "I live in Hotels, tear out the walls. I have Accountants pay for it all." is referring to Walsh, it was reported that SEVERAL of the Hotels He stayed at, had Entire walls torn out of them after He left!!! In the Live version, he changes a few lines and my Favorite is "I have a Limo, Ride in the Trunk. I lock the doors, in case I get DRUNK!". Walsh is a Joker and a HALF! Hell, He's 2 FULL Jokers!!!!!
Back in his James Gang days, Joe joked that they toured with the Who and the worst thing that happened is Keith Moon decided he liked Joe. Joe Walsh learned hotel room trashing from the legendary master.
Wichita, Kansas finest! I'm a MN boy, but have been in rural Kansas for 16 years. LOVE IT! He joined the Eagles in '75 to Present. Trademark sound, awesome voice.
I remember this song coming across the airwaves back in the 70's!! It is just so different, but yet paints a great pic of realism. Joe Walsh has one hell of sense of humor. And a damn good guitar player too! Love this song and your reaction!! Stay safe & peace!!
I love watching videos of my favorite songs with you, Jamel! I know something great is coming in the song, and then I see your face when you hear it, and I'm like "yeah, buddy!"
Joe Walsh is not only a great guitarist, he’s one of the funniest guys ever! In the eighties he used to spend a great deal of time in Chicago. He would frequently show up on The Steve Dahl and Garry Meier show. I worked at a hospital on the afternoon shift and would listen on the way in. I would be in tears when I got there. He was telling the story of how he was sitting in his limo and Richard Marx’ Don’t Mean Nothin came on and about the opening riff he says “Hey, that guys pretty good.............oh yeah, I did that”. Now, you have to imagine him saying it like he just took a nice, long toke. Lol. I’m partial to Funk 49 and Walk Away.
Couldn’t click fast enough for this one! Gotta Do ....Funk 49 too! This song was out in my HS graduation year. Your WTF facial expressions are the ones I had when this first came out! 😂
When he says “everybody’s so different I haven’t changed”; I think for him it was probably true. He was a rocker and partyer from the beginning and stayed that way.
Spent a lot of time in the summer up in West branch Michigan and Joe Walsh was always there with us. His music and fun was always nonstop. Nothing like some Joe Walsh during the summer festivities.
I’d never heard the very ending until recently and I’ve been listening to this song since it’s release. I had fallen asleep listening to my music. I wake up to hear WHA WHA WHA.......... I had to look at what song it was. Then researched the song to make sure it has been there the whole time. I was actually surprised. Hidden this whole time. Lol

Sensing a hollowness to his life despite knowing how blessed he is with money and fame and admiration.
I’ve always thought it was comedy. He is poking fun at what all of us think the life of a rock star is like.
❤ We just LOVE watching you discover, appreciate, and enjoy music !
Joe Walsh: "Funk 49", "Life in the Fast Lane."
Don Henley will have "Life in the Fast Lane" blocked before Jamel has his mouse pointer off the upload button. "Funk 49" is better anyway.
Turn to Stone...live...
Funk 49 a Rock song not to be missed.
@@habnots1 with Don Felder soloing with him
hammerpocket Sad but true! Don’s not famous for sharing and I’ve been an Eagles fan since the mid 70’s.😄
Joe Walsh solo material is a whole different animal than the Eagles. 'Turn To Stone' is a face melter.
Yes! Yes! Yes! His best song
@Tom Faigle Thats a big 10-4. Space Age Whiz Kids too!

Joe and Don Felder the "glue" held the Eagles together. Their guitar playing the best duo ever.
That's a fact! Live....wooooooo
The Eagles two-headed monster
Don wrote both guitar parts to Hotel California and taught Joe his part. I think the acoustic version from Hell Freezes Over is better than the electric version.
LOVED watching the two of them do this song together. one night in a fit of strange Irish humor I re wrote the song leaving the first part the same and then re did the second part(here is a little bit) I have a mansion, forget the price-Now I live off of top ramon noodles and rice. My Masserti does 185, I wonder how pedestrians ever get home alive
I love it when musicians play with their music. You can tell he was having fun, different music styles, long solos, funny lyrics. Nothing here is formula and yet it is GOLD!
This song is a rock classic. Great Reaction Jamel!
I love that description! I know a few people like that, hell, I am a few people like that!
One of my favorites. Everybody say, "Joe's cool". He's cool.😎👍
Anybody else remember him being a regular cast member on "the Drew Carrey show"....?
the live version he sang..... "I'm making records , my fans they can't wait,,,,they write me letters, tell me Don's (Henley) great." " I have a limo, ride in the trunk, I lock the doors in case I get drunk." He has a sense of humor....some of his album titles......"Got any gum?"......."You bought it, you name it" you should check out when he went to Daryl's house ua-cam.com/video/dPV6nKrhOGg/v-deo.html
@@mrketo508 looks like I will be going down a rabbit hole
This has been one of my absolute favorite songs since I was very little! Joe Walsh is incredible.
Dude, My Friend.. When I have bad days I watch you and your reactions. You make me at ease and make me laugh. Thank you Sir God bless
Joe Walsh, “Life of Illusion”, James Gang, “Funk #49”, “Walk Away”. All Joe Walsh, all good!!!
"Life of Illusion" is my favorite Walsh track. Great stuff!
Try out Joe's "The Confessor." Very different, very ominous.
oolon colluphid One of my favorite Walsh tunes. Very different!
All of it!
Man you HAVE to hear the beat in "Late In The Evening" ~ Paul Simon..... I Promise!!!!
I will second that!
"I can't complain, but sometimes I still do."
I think this describes all of us at times more often than we'd care to admit.
I love this song, reminds me of my uncle. He was always listening to great classics! This song is fun to me because it has so much going on!! Thanks for doing this one!!
He is Ringo Starr's brother-in-law, and frequently tours with him.
Saw him as an All Starr.
Yes,Ringo's wife & Joe's wife are sister's
Wow! for real? I didnt know this! I love Ringo's it dont come easy!
@@jcbulldog533 Barbara Bach's sister?
@@shaydsofgray262 Yes, don't know the other sister's name though??
@@stpnwlf9 Legend claims what Keith Moon didn't teach Joe about destroying hotels, Jim Belushi covered.
add a line I go to partys sometime till 4 its hard to leave when u cant find no more
u have a firm grasp of the obvious
James Gang "Funk 49" and "Walk Away"
#49 was what I was scanning for lol great tune!
How about "ILBTs"?
We've been telling him👍🏽
I put the links for funk 49 and walk away on the last reaction
also "Stop", "Woman", heck, anything of the Greatest Hits album
More than one hit song for the Eagles began as a Joe Walsh guitar warm-up exercise riff - the MUSIC just spills out the man
Wichita, Kansas finest! I'm a MN boy, but have been in rural Kansas for 16 years. LOVE IT! He joined the Eagles in '75 to Present. Trademark sound, awesome voice.
Best reaction channel on UA-cam!! I can't wait for you to react to more current rock. Keep up the good work brother!
Oh yes , no 2 ways about it. THE BEST.
"Ut oh. Here comes a flock of waawaas!!!" 😆
That was my favorite part as a kid. Made my dad re play that over and over 😆
I remember this song coming across the airwaves back in the 70's!!
Also when people ask me how I'm doing I say "I can't complain but sometimes I still do.".
Me too.
Rebecca Sanabria Me, too :)
Joe has been a famous "hotel trasher", he learnt from the best, Keith Moon
HAHA , not anymore I met him at one. He's pretty chill now for sure.
@@TheAgentAssassin I respect him for keeping his cool; during the whole Frey-Felder dispute!!!
Joe Walsh one of the greats guitarist of all time . The EAGLES grout too. TY Thanks for all the concerts.. God bless. Still love it
When he says “everybody’s so different I haven’t changed”; I think for him it was probably true. He was a rocker and partyer from the beginning and stayed that way.
"A life of Illusion" is another good Joe Walsh tune.
Excellent tune.
A definite must listen to track
This song is “tongue-in-cheek?” “Autobiographical” would be closer to the truth.
How about doing one with Joe Walsh at Daryl Hall's house...."Live from Daryl's House"
There’s a lot on “Live from Daryl’s House” I’d like to see you react to. A good rabbit hole.
I recommended to him to do Life's Been Good from from Daryl's House, but I guess he didn't read it.
@@mgordon1100 yes, and also Daryl's song, Someone Like You with Joe Walsh.
@@emeraldtiger7135 Joe's solo in that LFDH performance is SO TASTY !!
When I want to see happiness and smiles, I come to this channel. I've yet to be disappointed.
Spent a lot of time in the summer up in West branch Michigan and Joe Walsh was always there with us. His music and fun was always nonstop. Nothing like some Joe Walsh during the summer festivities.
Joe said he had these little pieces of songs in his head. Then he just wove them together. That explains the change from rock to reggae.
I've seen that video. It's interesting to find out how it came together.
"Look there goes a flock of flying wah wah's wha wha wha wha!" The hidden lyrics at the end of the song!
Josh Spurgeon I firmly believe the sounds after that are where the Angry Birds game got theirs from.
Lol
@@Shawn-rq4py ya he stated it was a I guess shot to the industry during the time of over used wammy bars and doing alot of wha wha wha music probably disco or reggae. And I think if I remember correctly that I read it in a magazine or when I looked up the song. And I guess it's not really a shot but a tounge and cheek thing
I just heard this on the radio in the car yesterday & thought "Hope Jamel does this one!".
And please, Funk #49!!!🌿💚
I heard it today and thought the same thing.
One of my favorite Joe Walsh songs, I grew up listening to this!
My favorite thing I ever heard him say as a then recovering alcoholic was that he'd only been drunk once in his life, for 20 years, lol.
I had heard this song before but didn't really know much about it til checking the comments here. Always wonderful to learn more about a good tune! And, it is always a treat to enjoy great music along with you Jamal!
