Omfg this is one of my most played games. Dan, I had no idea you played this game! My favorite build is still the stealth bomb salvo.
Sometimes picking 1 or 2 mods from a tree without finishing it is the correct course of actions. Elegant Contruction for Turrets in particular is important!
Overseer reduces your thrust a ton so that last one upgrade really destroyed the build hahahaha
So many upgrades have a sneaky downside that I tend to miss XD
@@Haelian Yeah I usually tend to look for any minus signs in an upgrade to see if it has a downside that doesn't appear in Red (since those are fore extreme situations like "this upgrade removes shield" or "the ability to fire your weapon")

Unironically my #1 steam game last year, hours-wise.
I find it rather sad that there's so little UA-cam content with it.
You either Shielded Constructs or Rapit Reconstruction. Which lets you either give of those 2 construct super mods. Stronger but longer build time or constantly regenerating! If you have enough regen Turrets stop dying to self damage which is fun.

If i'm not mistaken you can have both if you pick apex machinery before rapid reconstruction.
@@pmangano Apex Machinery needs Shielded Constructs. It feels like SC should banish Rapid Reconstruction. I could check that in the Draft mode quickly

One of my first comments on your channel but this is a game I’ve been a fan of for a while! Super glad to see you playing it. Can’t wait to play 1.0
I like the art and game design concept, except for the very floaty and imprecise controls. It looks like a bullet hell game which should have very tight twin-stick movement in my mind. Cool to watch but I don’t think I’ll get it.
If you think they are imprecise that's on you. The ship has momentum yes. But imprecise is more user than engine
The controls are difficult to get used to at first, but once it clicks, it makes perfect sense, and you can get very accurate with it when you are good at the controls. Also, there are upgrades you build that give you better control over your momentum, such as being able to slow down and get some weak reverse thrust (Which you never use, but the slow down is very useful), which is a very good upgrade to get as it leads to Strafe which is one of the best mobility and survivability upgrades in the game (When you get used to using it, Strafe requires pretty high skill to use effectively).
Also, in this game you basically want to be moving most of the time, only adjusting your direction by turning (Which can be done by the mouse, so it is very responsive). It's not really a bullet hell game as much as you think. There are bosses that have bullet hell attacks, but they are not that difficult to dodge and don't require pixel perfect positioning, not to mention, the strongest builds just destroy these bosses almost instantly before they can ever use these attacks, or it doesn't matter to get hit by one or two attacks (Unless you are super deep in endless mode on a high score run, but even then the enemies will still die very quickly, but you will get overwhelmed and one shot eventually, not because of the controls, but because of the sheer number of enemies).
Speaking of RogueLikes, how is nobody talking about Ravenswatch, just blows my mind.
I have no idea how comes I have 130 hours in it already. But I can't recommend this one enough.
Subsumtion requires you to activly deploy them. There are builds where it is extremely good.

I think for swords in particular at a point fire rate becomes damage increase instead. Not sure how that math works out

What does the black hole do? I’ve been sucked in a few times, taking no apparent damage. My only guess is that it skips a number of waves/levels, limiting your high score potential
Supposed to just deal some damage to you I'm pretty sure.

Just got the game today and I gotta say. I was pretty overwhelmed when starting. Can't find any straight up guides on YT for this game either. It seems very fun though
There is a LOT to learn and so much to read right away. Soooo many questions.
The wait was worth it. I remember a build where I was shooting mines as my weapon and when they exploded it was like my old weapon (thermal lance maybe) and all I remember is I couldn't see anything. It was great.
