Probably one of the most important things that the "KH3 whiners" are neglecting is the concept of having Sora, the main character of the whole series, fighting alongside the other characters we've controlled in the past. I'll never stress enough how much important is, game design wise, fighting with characters in order to grow empathy for them. These battles may be easier than what we could expect them to be - but, gameplay aside, just the fact of having Aqua (AQUA!!!) and Ventus as allies and chaining our combos with theirs, makes everything just as epic as this music.
My favourite moment gameplay-wise of all the battles was seeing Aqua do a full combo on Vanitas, knocking him up in the air where Ventus continued the combo keeping him on lock where I did another combo finishing it using an ars arcanum, and that to me was epic alongside the music. Of course I had defeated Terranort before then so I didn't have his additions to the music, but I still loved it as a gameplay moment.
Everglow lol don’t even bother trying to explain to them. They’re too blinded by nostalgia and for some odd reason were too busy waiting for for 13 years instead of playing the other games
You know, I lost a good bit of respect when you bring up people who criticize the game for being easy by calling them whiners. Sure, I liked having these people as party members, but when Roxas can solo Saix, it's a problem. Maybe if they had slapped in a data battle of sorts and let us refight these fights solo, or with donald and goofy, it'd be different, but they keyblader AI and skills are so strong it takes an already easy game and makes it so much easier. It's silly to denounce people who have genuinely concerns about difficulty like this as "whiners"
@@oneish7454 I mean who can say until we have official word, but knowing Ishimoto's styling very well this doesn't sound like his work at all. I'm fairly certain this is Yoko.
We have three composers on this OST overall. Yoko Shimomura, Takeharu Ishimoto and Tsuyoshi Sekito. Same three as Dream Drop Distance. Until we get an official OST release it'll be hard to say who did what, even if we are confident we know a certain composer's style. At the minimum we can say Yoko Shimomura composed this track since she did compose the original Rage Awakened, but as for who did the new arrangement, we won't know until there's an OST release.
Imagine how sick it would've been to fight along side Lingering Will during this fight? That is if they can manage to balance Lingering Will to not be too much if a monster lol.
Zero Hunter Roxas was a monster that soloed Saix. I would not mind sitting back and watching Lingering Will go to town on the man that caused him and his friends so much suffering.
When lingering will first showed up in the cutscene where he fights terranort, I actually thought they were gonna make me play as lingering will. Was sadly disappointed, but still a great cutscene to watch!
Galactix 03 SAME!! I wanted to play as him or have him as a party member when fighting with him. That would be so damn cool. They ruined the fight imo and I wanted Lingering Will to even appear in the fight instead of the Guardian being Terra...
Others: KH3 is so easy and boring and dissapointing. Me (while Terranorth is being hit and juggled by Aqua's finisher, Ventus's Strike Raid and my Ars Arcanum at once): YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH THIS IS AMAZING
Roxas No. XIII Regardless of how easy the game was, these moments were definitely amazing to watch. I was shedding tears of joy cheering when I saw all these people becoming our allies even if it was for one fight.
From a narrative standpoint, these final battles were some of the most fulfilling I’ve ever participated in, because of the emotional weight they hold. These are a culmination of about 13 years worth of story and mythos, realizing each battle’s respective conclusion. It’s also a bit disingenuous that one would compare Final Mix builds of past titles to this title here, which is essentially a vanilla build, and claiming it’s lacking content. Unless of course if the vanilla of past titles has more “content”, then maybe we need to reevaluate what “game padding” is. I am all for a “Critical Mode”, all for the sake of giving these narrative points even more weight to them. But the reason I believe people find the game easy, lies with its core gameplay and it’s toolset for battle. Fundamentally, it’s flawed. While the player is given a wide range of utility in order to battle, not implementing any limitations during boss fights, (as opposed to just pumping bosses full of vitality), was a missed opportunity. And I’ve only seen two situations near endgame where they come close to it but haven’t fully realized it. That’s why I loved how Kurt Zisa and Phantom were implemented, because they imposed those limitations and brought something new to the playing field.
THANK YOU! Someone finally brings up the fact that everyone is comparing this to KH2FM when the vanilla version was lacking in content too. While yes the argument can be made that the content should have been their since the start, I'm not really surprised that the game needs a FM version and hope we get one. I just find it a little unfair that everyone compares the base game of KH3 to the expanded content of KH2FM.
Hit the nail right on its head. None of the bosses in this game really implemented a core strategy to themselves the way Kurt Zisa and Phantom did in the first Kingdom Hearts. Kurt Zisa placed limitations on the availability of your magic abilities while Phantom requires you to use your magic abilities in a strategic and thoughtful fashion. These bosses had a large reservoir of health and strength, but they didn't require any real thoughtfulness during their battles. It was a simple matter of dodging and attacking in careful intervals. No restrictions whatsoever. I will say that the atmosphere and the musical compositions for the battles were very spot on. It was a much more sophisticated environment compared to some of the games previous. The tone of this story was definitely darker in certain places and the plot (For the most part) had matured along with its audience, and as you said, the final battles held such an emotional power to them because all of these characters had been built up for this final moment. Each story had finally received closure and that felt incredibly satisfying. I won't compare this freshly released version of Kingdom Hearts III to its predecessors, but I am certainly holding out hope for possible future content to be added down the road, especially a possible "Critical Mode." There's potential for so much more in this game, but I'm still enjoying it as it is right now.
I really hope that in the FM DLC we will have less floaty and flashy combat, WAY less frequent situation commands, and better standard combat abilities (like kh2). Also I wish there was a leveling system with the keyblade forms, kind of like how you could level up drive forms in kh2.
The Boss nah bro kh3 is just shit. I still replay kh2 and kh1. Kh3 was just beaten and never played again. The combat was shitter than other games and the story was garbage. It just looks pretty. Kh1: best story Kh2: best gameplay Kh3: best graphics
Great comment! Yes, Kingdom hearts 3 was truly amazing. Best game ever. Kingdom hearts 3 was a masterpiece! Kaash na ho! Yes, I'm right! Kaash na ho! Kassh na ho! Kaash na ho!
Thank you Square for this boss fight. This was exactly what I wanted for a final Vanitas/Terranort battle -- a merging of the past with the present. Also, the Wayfinder trio reunion was the one scene that made me legit sob.
@@whatif9854 If I have one hope for future DLC, it would be to make LW a party member for that fight and watch him go ham the way Roxas does against Saix. That'd be fucking amazing.
if there was one thing I loved about KH1 is that party members do some good damage. KH2 damage felt like chip damage and nothing more, unless it was Beast. glad they have it here in KH3
When you hear this soundtrack, you know that Master Terra cannot tolerate your shit anymore. I just love this soundtrack so much. It's like a mix of Terra's theme and dismiss. Like Terra is now using his last rage to finally end Xehanort for once and for all.
Im gonna be honest. Fighting the Organization XIII wasnt as cool as i hoped as i assumed they would all have keyblades, so a bit of disappointment there. But fighting Terranort and Vanitas was pure badassry. Keyblade wielders vs Keyblade wielders, just the epic confrontation i was hoping for. That and the new remixed OST helped a lot. YX,Xemnas and Ansem was also kickass as its the 3 final bosses in one fight, that with Master Xehanort helping in the background was so cool and again, the Melody was pure kickass. Saix was only cool because of Sora and Roxas fighting together just UUHHHHH, fangasm. That look they gave each other before fighting Saix was just amazing
Incredible resolution to the “Rage Awakened” leitmotif, culminating with the triumphant return of Terra’s theme. That business with final Xehanort doesn’t...doesn’t count.... Please, Shimomura, one day...set that right lol
I'm glad I'm not the only one who took issue with that final boss theme, it literally sounds like someone threw a shitload of MIDI files together and called it a day!
I dunno about you guys but I loved this version of Rage Awakened and it felt like the proper finale 1:22 and the redemption of all the mistakes that came from Terra’s body because of Xehanort 2:16 and it’s time to get the body back because Xehanort took the side of Terra and turned it into his story, and now Terra wants to take his body back for good to make it his side and his story by using the last rage 2:37 Personally, I find it to be a masterpiece, yes it’s not as energetic as previous versions, but it felt like a finalized version mixed with dark and dramatized tunes and I just love it
Dude I love how the Organization XIII motif sounds _hesitant_ of all things. That's what I love about music, you can somehow convey these emotions without using a single word. I can't even think of the last time I heard a song that sounded hesitant. It's very fitting too, Terra is probably in there trying so hard, so desperately to hold Xehanort back. Such an emotional piece of music.
Nathan55411 YES!!! This is why I love KH soundtrack for the most part, KH3 was lacking due to some worms taking over for Yoko but they came through for this song and some others.
Every last one of these fights were incredible. Pretty much the entirety of the Keyblade graveyard post-Lich was. And even all that needs to be wonderful is explain what the heck actually happened.
@@coverandoacasa I like the boss and concept too! but they brought back time travel for some reason. I guess if Terra-Xehanort had said "oh you're back for more?" or something like that, I would be 100% on board.
@@cruderschmidt I'm the only one thinking why Ventus runs again when he sees Terra-Xehanort? Like if one keyblade slash from his "old friend" wasn't enough for him...
Time travel may have only let them remember for a moment, Young Xehanort states that at the end of DDD he’ll go back to his original body and live out his life without knowing anything of what happened. They probably get back in their original bodies be like Oooo nice guys and then forget that ever happened ahaha
I feel people just focus on personal things they didn't like with KH3 and don't look at all at the amazing feats and experiences they had. There are plenty of amazing things KH3 did that people over look.
Exactly this! It pains me to see the mass amount of "hate" thrown at this game. The game is visually stunning. The disney worlds have charm. The gameplay is an absolute blast, though too easy. Mechanically this game is FANTASTIC! Every option except for links are not only viable but good. The music is top notch, though we could have had a few more unique tracks. Something I feel a lot of people overlook is so many plot points are resolved in a way that doesn't require hour long youtube videos to understand. The conclusion may not have been everyones cup of tea but it makes sense. I don't think Xehanort was a top notch citizen by any means but he sure as well wasn't just "EVIL MWAHAHAHAHA EVERYONE DIE". He wanted to prevent the keyblade war and prevent countless deaths. To do so someone had to play the villian. Be the 13 darkness's strong enough to clash with 7 lights. I could jump into the rabbit hold of how the MoM was actually involved the entire time through Luxu (my speculation/theory) and how Sora disappearing is the hard to swallow ending Nomura warned us about but also was foretold ever since the first world of the game and towards the end as well.
@@jasoncrownover4551 Actually even the links are pretty viable at times, you just have to know how to use them. I used wreck it ralph to take out like 4 bars of HP at once from the tangled boss. But yeah KH3 is pretty freaking great
We almost never say the game is bad. This game is actually really enjoyable. But we do feel a bit let down. This is not hate. This is disappointment for not living up to expectations. We just don't feel happy waiting half a decade for the finale of a 10+ games saga and getting something a bit lackluster. That being said is still had fun with my time. But honestly dissapointment is more painful that just having a bad game becouse it shows we could of had something better.
Most of the game is good. But you're asking a bit too much if you think I can ignore some of its MASSIVE hiccups, that shouldnt exist. **coughcough Terranort cutscene coughcough**
This Really shows the Rage and Determination in All 7 Guardians Hearts. To finally bring the Twilight War to and End. (I call it Twilight War because there's an enormous rift between light and darkness in the entire franchise)
At the beginning, it was difficult for me to appreciate this ost, I wasn't finding the same wibes as the original rage awakening. But now, I understand this ost, this is the conclusion, the end of the rage, and the beginning of hope...
I was so fucking happy to be able to beat the shit out of vanitas with Aqua and Ven at the same time!! I find story much more important than difficulty, so I loved all of these fights!!
it's just awesome how you're uploading the soundtrack for the game. I love hearing the difference verse of tracks in earlier games. these ones are hyped up to 11. and yes I agree Everglow, the fights in the new game kind of seem easier than what they were in the original 1, 2, bbs. even when fighting 2/3 characters at once.
This was probably the most jaw dropping moment in the game for me. I knew about the Terra=Guardian theories, but had always dismissed them. Then this scene happened and *holy shit*. My only issue with the wrap up for the BBS trio is we never learned what happened to the Lingering Will. I assume he lost off screen since Terranort showed up fine for this fight, but would like to have even had Aqua just mention it offhand.
@@juno_98 That was a mistranslation. It's not his mind, it's literally his lingering emotions following the climax of BBS, strong enough to possess the armor. The only thing driving it the thought of striking Xehanort down.
Too bad we didn't see its end, but probably it was destroyed by the Organization. And once Terra came back there was no reason for it to stay "alive" after all
Just because your criticizing something doesn't mean you are a "whiner" a lot of us are criticizing the game because we love it and find a lot of things could have been handled better and just all around expect better from the series. This doesn't mean we hate the series or the game
Yeah, like even is the proud mode isnt that hard, im close to finish the game and i like it a lot, the magic of kh is still here and its good, even i found some defaults, and in the future i hope they introduce like boss rush or something but in the end im going to do a speedrun because the gameplay is so satisfying
@@lucienlachance1265 Its way too easy and I dont like all the free dmg they give you, also combos just feel sloppy magic is so much better. Story wise everything at the end feels rushed and happens all at once, everyone gets saved one after the other and it feels so shoehorned in, doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth
@@ipwnukazu For me it was so obvious that kh3 finishing like that, kh1 and kh2 have a good ending too, unfortunally disney or square was maybe afraid to kill à character, i dont know but i understand your complain, nomura says the finals weel be dark but what a lie, everybody lives so yeah i can totally understand, but for me it was not a surprise if everybody lives, even in my deep hopes, all can be die because their story is closed, nothing to say anymour even Sora, damn i was so pissed when they included him in the secret movie, consequence please Nomura but even of all of that i enjoyed the final, like i play this game series since i was 6,7 years old so it was touching to see the characters you follow be happy, especially roxas, xion and axel but yeah i totally understand, this game is not greedy, still in the safe place... hopefully i was so hyped for luxu/xigbar twist, like i didnt see that coming and the secret ending is really bizarre with somnus of ff15 playing in the background, hope for a fresh start of this series
That is a very mature way of describing criticism, dude. =3 I for one strongly love this game here, and too noticed some things that could be better. :P I don't know how or why people say Proud is 'easy' though, cuz I haven't played that mode yet. But maybe I'll give it a shot once I 100% the game (I've gotten Ultima Weapon by this time btw. Hands down, the BEST Ultima Weapon keyblade period! X3 Until the future KH titles find a way to top this one.)
This fight on crit is actually pretty fun outside of the fact that both terranort and vanitas have attacks that can kill you from across the battlefield.
What I wanna know is.... WHERE THE HELL DID LINGERING WILL DISSAPPEAR TO. Also I goddamn called it with the Guardian was goddamn Terra's heartless(kinda) all along.
Sivrn Val RIGHT?!? The entire time I was just waiting for him to show up and take back his body but after stopping Terranort after the ese he just kinda disappeared from existence
One thing that i wish we would have had during this fight was dialogue during the fight like with the Anti-Aqua fight Vanitas: What's the matter Ventus, upset that your friend's fighting alongside me now Ventus: Shut Up! He's only doing this because of Xehanort and we are going to free him Vanitas: Never Terra-Xehanort: So it seems that the misguided master managed to get out of the realm of darkness Aqua: Terra, I know that this isn't you. Keep fighting him a little longer Terra-Xehanort: Just accept it, your friend is lost forever all because you failed to follow your master's orders Aqua: I didn't fail, and Terra isn't lost. He's fighting, and we are going to free him Xehanort
everglow, thank you so much for uploading these videos!! i can’t believe what happened to the old reMIX SONGS OF 1.5 and 2.5 Keep up the amazing work!!
Daniel Hewitt youtube took them down i believe? don’t take my word for it. i don’t want to speak for everglow. but all those super nice extended versions of the songs are gone now :(
I didn't comment on it back when you released all of these videos (and thank you for doing that), but the way the music lines up with *EVERYTHING.* Musical composition and sound design are, in my opinion, some of the most important things when it comes to setting atmospheres. Music hitting the right beats at the right time is so, so, _so_ important to keeping the player immersed in the experience while keeping their emotions in check at the same time. It's why people cry during certain cutscenes or get immensely hype during others. And by the gods, the way you tackle visual composition paired with the stellar tracks from his game is incredible. First of all, that opening cutscene. I can't tell if you spliced together some of the individual shots of the characters so that the frame-changes, Keyblade clashes, and character landings synced with each beat of the song. But even if you didn't, thank you, just thank you for that incredible, instant-hype visual of these four having such an intense clash to warrant those beating drums. The gameplay for KH3 is always eye-candy, but the way you've incorporated the various types of Keyblades and each of their cinematic abilities lining up in near perfect ways with the song as a whole, it's fucking gorgeous. You've always had impressive skill when it comes to Kingdom Hearts combat, I can very fondly remember your 13th Clash video showcasing all of the KH2 Data Battles paired with some incredible songs from the soundtrack. It was a video I watched weekly back in the day and I still occasionally bring it up to reminisce over the great songs and the fun combat. And this battle montage is no different. I myself was SO excited when I realized Aqua and Ventus were my party members. They had fully functioning AI with attacks and spells from their respective games, animations, battle quotes, etc. And despite having much of the combat in this montage be centered around Sora's Keyblades, you captured so much of their AI patterns and how incredible it has to feel to finally be able to fight _alongside_ these beloved characters. When I saw Sora and Ventus start mauling away at Terra and Vanitas at the exact same time, almost in sync with the only difference being their fighting styles... God, you'd think I would use these kinds of videos just for listening to while I do some homework. But I LOVE watching these videos, your's especially. I guess what I'm trying to say is: despite this video probably being used mostly for listening purposes, I am one of the people that is heavily invested in its visual factor, as well.
What bugs me is that they program BBS/Days as an ally just for this fight and never seen them again. They totally wasted an opportunity having them as party in other worlds which could lead to an epic finale with the guardians of light especially (Aqua!! Also 0:56 Sora and Aqua Unison Curaga lol
I just wanna fight these bosses again square. Why won't you let me fight them again because these were the best fights in the game. The keyblade wielders AI was fucking incredible all around and I could combo with fucking AQUA. Which I did multiple times. It warmed my sad little heart.
Thank you so much for your point about gameplay building empathy Everglow! My brother does not get my attachment to Xion and it’s 100% because he did not have to drag her (lovable, strong, sweet) ass through so many damn missions in 358 😂
I'm a KH3 whiner. I loved all the end game fights. I do wish that the pacing would have been better though so we could have gotten some in the middle. What if we had Aqua and the gang as potential teammates instead of Donald and Goofy? However, Kh3 in my opinion doesn't look to satisfy all the fans just a portion of them. I think they should have had something to please us all in the base game. Arena mode, challenging super bosses. Even a boss rush with existing bosses would have been great. I wanted to fight some of the end game bosses in a one on one with higher stakes. Kh3 is fun, but we whiners are long times fans too and the only thing I'm comparing Kh3 to is earlier games in the series.
You know what.... Good point, KH3 is kinda flawed( this is coming from somebody who absolutely adored the game). The worst thing is the whole saving Aqua to Ventus part was rushed, like goddamn.
You gotta remember that the only super boss in KH2 was Sephiroth. Data Org, LW, and Hades Paradox Cups were not added until Final Mix. The Battle Gates are a weaker version of the Cups, but they are a good way of testing a player's knowledge of the enemies of that world. If we get no DLC/FM then yeah KH3 was a bit weak; but I think that we will get something. And, yes, the story was hella rushed near the end. Spacing of finding Aqua and Ventus would have been great.
I’m just perplexed because so many of the complaints I’ve heard about KH3 show a lack of knowledge of how past titles have shipped. Every story is back-loaded - that’s straight up just how kingdom hearts works. The only game that approaches a more balanced plot is BBS, and that’s because you get the ending 3 times throughout your total play through. In fact, KH3 is also one of the best of past games for plot balance as it gives you so many interludes outside of Disney worlds (eg the multiple trips to the RoD and the visit to Land of Departure). So, I don’t know what to say... don’t play kingdom hearts if you don’t expect the story to be like every one of the 7+ games already out there? And so many people are getting upset that post-game is not at the level of KH2FM without even acknowledging the extra development time that made FM possible. Im sorry, but if you’re playing a game just for the post-game content... maybe the game wasn’t for you. The game is meant to be a fulfilling and enjoyable journey on its own. It’s the same reason I don’t understand people who laud KH2FM critical (which I have played) and tell me, well you’ll enjoy it for post-game... a few great bosses at the end of a slog does not good game design make. I think these are the complaints Everglow (tongue-in-cheek, I think) calls whining. Those that don’t seem reasonable in the context of the larger series. Not only do they seek to change the game in a way that pleases a small group compared to the full fan base, but they do so at the cost of fundamentally changing how Kingdom Hearts has existed.
@@lemonmart7793 The problems with back loading has always been an issue you're right but it should be fixed. I also think the issue is worse here. In previous games the main story was at least affecting the worlds in some way, here we just get vague hints that the Organization may be doing something bad. Same with dialogue. It's wonderful that it's fully voiced. But it just goes on for too long, Kingdom Hearts has always had corny dialogue but when it's stretched out like this it becomes tedious. Birth By Sleep before the Final Mix version had the Mirage Arena with two superbosses and difficult mirage arena boss that you get to see different forms of. I think the comparisons to Kh2 are because for a lot of people we were expecting base Kh3 to surpass kh2fm. Have they not had enough time to do that? The worlds are big and beautiful but I feel like they exhaust me instead of excite me. There's just something wrong with the pacing. Breaking up worlds into two chunks would have been nicer. The combat feels simpler than Kh2 and I miss all of the customization of the command deck system. Where's an arena mode? Where's critical? Where's the enemy ai that needs strategy? I've played ever Kh game including Re:Coded. I think the reason there are so many complaints is because a lot of fans aren't getting their needs met. I love post game hard battles I didn't get it. Some love Ff characters they didn't get it. Some people like me were hoping for growth in thr writing and story telling we didn't get it. Kh3 was fun. I can tell a lot of effort went in. Some of that effort in the wrong places(mini games). But to me Kh3 is disappointing because the only thing it's the best at in the series for me is graphics. BBS is still my favorite followed by Kh2Fm and then ReCoM. It's sad because I recently replayed all the games for my girlfriend, but at it's current state Kh3 will not be a game I replay. Kh3 felt to me a few great bosses at the end of a slog.
I loved watching Ven be the ultimate meat shield in this fight. At least for me he was always running right next to me, never straying very far and any time an attack came towards me he just jumped in the way and tanked it. Made a good impact, almost like Ven wanted to repay Sora for all those years.
I love kingdom hearts back in Philadelphia when I 7 years old. My dad used to play kingdom hearts once on a playstation 3 a it was awesome and amazing. You know they should make a new game called kingdom hearts wonderland. It will be exciting filled with action and adventure that the good guys win and bad guys lose.
tbh all these complaints can be boiled down to the fact that situation commands make these fights hella easy. Having these party members just made it more exciting. Give us a critical mode with a resource meter for transformations and we'll be set.
I agree with everflow i just wanted to fight the Organization with EVERYONE! It was so badass fighting along with Roxas... ROXAS! and Axel the two hardest organization members in KH2FM. I didn't care about the difficulty at this point it was so fucking fun just pulling off combos and link strikes and using Ars Arcanam and finishing it off with Ultima Form!
Sora : (Sleeps for a few years)... welp I need to remember how to do everything again! Ventus : (sleeps through most of the series) Lets dive right back to fighting my final boss!
I feel like Rage awakened shouldn’t be the official name of this track... probably like Slumbering Rage or something that acknowledges the classic track but also reflects the somberness of the song and environment.
Are people seriously complaining about KH3's difficulty? I think this game is so fun and unique with so much important lore, it seriously doesn't matter how hard it is
@@Rikkusen Exactly! Hell, I was under leveled (wasn't even lvl 40 by the end, and trust me, I'm NOT the best at this) and it was still relatively easy, but I didn't care about that in the slightest during the entirety of the Graveyard
They should make a hd remake of 358/2 Days it would be amazing. Maybe don't use the mission system so you can play it like any other KH but include the mission mode where you can play parts of the story again with other characters like xemnas. I rly loved playing as xemnas
It's not the part with Sora fighting alongside other characters I have issue with, it's the fact that he's the one always giving the finishing blow. Imagine how gratifying it would be for Roxas/Xion to finish off Saix, or Aqua/Ventus dealing the last blow to Terranort/Vanitas. The fact that there are no team attacks here is sorely disappointing.
Who else tried to take down vanitas first because they guessed that terra would be saved after defeating terranort. I had to make it make narrative sense lol
Kh1: best story Kh2: best gameplay Kh3: best graphics Btw this is the factual truth and non debatable. If you think otherwise you are lying to yourselves
I think people in their wants sometimes get so caught up in what they want and how they are in some situations they lose track of the other bits that don't concern them. I see this most on mmos but I'll put myself as an example. I play racing games and pretty good at picking them up in seconds to the point in some harder games I've had family members ask me if there was any car I couldn't drive. So when I watch others play them horribly, especially mario kart it makes my eye twitch. But I always back off and remind myself, different people, different abilities. It's not different here, previous kingdom hearts had brick wall bosses that did way too much damage and overall was a pain to kill. Even if you no damage them, not a lot of people find it fun to spend 20 seconds dodging so you can have 5 seconds of opening, especially in the case of birth by sleep or 358/2 days that if you weren't over leveled, you were basically doing mini damage to their health bars. So to come here and for once have allies that could do something, and stable bosses you can actually fight instead of waiting a decade for an opening makes it much better in my eyes. There are some things I do dislike. Like the more recognizable faces, is like 1/6th of themselves. Like did Terranort get whacked so hard off screen by Terra's armor, he forgot his entire movelist, even his shotlocks? XD Are the surrounding rocks too heavy for Xemnes to lift? And what the hell happened to Riku? (Playstyle wise) Are we sure this the same guy? But anyway what I'm getting at, it's okay to want a challenge, but given kingdom hearts history, try not to give this game too much upset for the one time it doesn't provide it for you. It's just easier for more people to get into. For those who are fine and happy, try to remember like I mentioned in the past how past kingdom hearts titles were. So if someones last game was proud mode bbs on the psp, it's probably gonna feel like they went from brick walls to ping pong balls in some cases. I personally think both sides have their points. I wouldn't say anyone is whining, (at least in the comments that show up for me. I'm sure there is some raging somewhere in this video) looks more like some people had expectations that wasn't quite met and their just disappointed and wanted to express themselves.
In this case however, the cutscene with the Guardian and Terra taking his body back always takes place last. If you defeat Terra-Xehanort first, you get a short scene of him falling over and become unconscious. Then you fight Vanitas alone, the Vanitas scene plays and then the Guardian scene takes place.
Probably one of the most important things that the "KH3 whiners" are neglecting is the concept of having Sora, the main character of the whole series, fighting alongside the other characters we've controlled in the past. I'll never stress enough how much important is, game design wise, fighting with characters in order to grow empathy for them.

Yoko lost her absolute mind with this game's OST and I am eating it all up like Thanksgiving dinner
OM NOM NOM
Is this even by Yoko herself? A lot of the remixed tracks are done by Takeharu Ishimoto, to mixed results.
This sounds closer to her style than it does Ishimoto’s, so maybe she did actually do this one? It’s hard to say.
IVE BEEN WANTING THAT FOREVER BUT IT DIDNT HAPPEN.
When lingering will first showed up in the cutscene where he fights terranort, I actually thought they were gonna make me play as lingering will. Was sadly disappointed, but still a great cutscene to watch!
It would have been pretty neat to play as Aqua with Ventus and Lingering Will/Terra by your side
Galactix 03 SAME!! I wanted to play as him or have him as a party member when fighting with him. That would be so damn cool. They ruined the fight imo and I wanted Lingering Will to even appear in the fight instead of the Guardian being Terra...
Aqua: “Release my friend!”
Vanitas: *NOPE*

I cried for the entirety of the Keyblade graveyard fights. I was having too much of a damn good time too.
Now imagine how badass it would have been if it was JUST you 2 fighting and comboing into each other.
Now is everyone waking up to this?! They did the same shit with FFXV. It doesn't matter at all if you're having FUN that's what games a great game.
@@shadow45677 disagree. Part of what made this so amazing was the party members.
*Wind Raid.
1:27 Ven and Sora combo looking cool
Kh1: best story
Kh2: best gameplay
Kh3: best graphics
Great comment! Yes, Kingdom hearts 3 was truly amazing. Best game ever. Kingdom hearts 3 was a masterpiece! Kaash na ho! Yes, I'm right! Kaash na ho! Kassh na ho! Kaash na ho!
That Final Re Mind trailer made this ost even better.
SAME THOUGHT. xD I just hear that KH1 line... Amazing. Xd
I thought the track from the Trailer was the World of Tres version.
Thank you Square for this boss fight. This was exactly what I wanted for a final Vanitas/Terranort battle -- a merging of the past with the present.
Also, the Wayfinder trio reunion was the one scene that made me legit sob.
The Wayfinder trio is my favorite of the bunch, so seeing them reunited made this game absolutely worth it for me.
Not to mention getting to see the Lingering Will kick the everliving crap out of Terranort. The actual best scene in anything ever.
@@whatif9854 If I have one hope for future DLC, it would be to make LW a party member for that fight and watch him go ham the way Roxas does against Saix. That'd be fucking amazing.
I found both the 358 and wayfinder teams to have the most wholesome reunions I've seen in a narrative. Props to the VA in these scenarios.
My favorite part is the melody between 1:16 - 1:37. Aahh so good!
Everyone always told me... to just follow my heart. But.. Follow my heart? Hearts are all connected. Trace the connection.
Watching Guardian tear a new one for Terranort was so satisfying!
Martin Papos you fell into the dar- (Guardian Terra: shut the cluck up)
Now that i think about it this happened in 0.2 terranort was holding terra the same way........my how the tables have turned
Terranort: Still Evil Terra Baby.
Guardian Terra: Are you sure about that?
Terranort: Oh no. It's the evil looking but not actually evil Terra.
if there was one thing I loved about KH1 is that party members do some good damage. KH2 damage felt like chip damage and nothing more, unless it was Beast. glad they have it here in KH3
FistHound 00 I said the exact same. Glad they brought it back
When you hear this soundtrack, you know that Master Terra cannot tolerate your shit anymore. I just love this soundtrack so much. It's like a mix of Terra's theme and dismiss. Like Terra is now using his last rage to finally end Xehanort for once and for all.
It was NUTS fighting beside all those characters!! I was so happy we got that lol
This song means that Terra HAS to wake up from Xehanort's grasp.
TERRA, YOU HAVE TO FIGHT THE DARKNESS!
It wasn't Yoko, pleasw Yoko Shimomura would never make something so disgusting. It was Ishimoto.
I do hope soon we can get a "final mix patch" that allows us to re-fight these battles again! And much more
Hell yeah. These fights were fucking awesome.
THATS WHAT IM SAYING,When I went back to the key blade grave with Donald and Goofy it was just a creepy temple with long corridors and big a rooms.
I dunno about you guys but I loved this version of Rage Awakened and it felt like the proper finale 1:22 and the redemption of all the mistakes that came from Terra’s body because of Xehanort 2:16 and it’s time to get the body back because Xehanort took the side of Terra and turned it into his story, and now Terra wants to take his body back for good to make it his side and his story by using the last rage 2:37
Personally, I find it to be a masterpiece, yes it’s not as energetic as previous versions, but it felt like a finalized version mixed with dark and dramatized tunes and I just love it
Masterpiece. Confirmed to be arranged by Yoko herself, titled “Dawn of Hope.” A beautiful finale for “Rage Awakened” and Terra’s story.
And even all that needs to be wonderful is explain what the heck actually happened.
i loved the lich section, the thought of a grim reaper in kingdom hearts is fascinating
Shut the fuck up! Kingdom hearts 3 was the best! It's epic! Best storyline and best ending. Way better than kh 2. Kh 3 is the best! Kaash na ho!
2:33 Ventus abusing Vanitas in the bottom
Ven beating the heck out of Vanitas is truly payback for what he tried to do against Aqua.
They did it, they made Rage awakened more epic. Yoko is a goddess
This Really shows the Rage and Determination in All 7 Guardians Hearts. To finally bring the Twilight War to and End.
(I call it Twilight War because there's an enormous rift between light and darkness in the entire franchise)
This is me. Just needed to make new channel.
1:38 is literally stabbing a deep hole into my heart every time i listen to it and i listen to it again and again because i fucking love it
At the beginning, it was difficult for me to appreciate this ost, I wasn't finding the same wibes as the original rage awakening. But now, I understand this ost, this is the conclusion, the end of the rage, and the beginning of hope...
1:27 THE COMBO WITH VEN!!
I was so fucking happy to be able to beat the shit out of vanitas with Aqua and Ven at the same time!! I find story much more important than difficulty, so I loved all of these fights!!
1:28
Ventus was ready for that air juggle.
So satisfying from both a story and gameplay perspective!
KH3 feels like the Avengers movie where all heroes from different titles are working together, and it's great 🥰
it's just awesome how you're uploading the soundtrack for the game.
Well, since LW is Terra's mind, maybe he rejoined with his body offscreen, with the hope to make Terranort to remember his friends
And once Terra came back there was no reason for it to stay "alive" after all
Lingering will merged with the guardian that´s how the guardian could control itself even though it´s a heartless.
Thing is, LW kicked Terranort's ass. There's no way he couldve lost in a 1v1 scenario,
Just because your criticizing something doesn't mean you are a "whiner" a lot of us are criticizing the game because we love it and find a lot of things could have been handled better and just all around expect better from the series.
"could of"
And just like that, your comment is invalid
That is a very mature way of describing criticism, dude. =3 I for one strongly love this game here, and too noticed some things that could be better. :P I don't know how or why people say Proud is 'easy' though, cuz I haven't played that mode yet. But maybe I'll give it a shot once I 100% the game (I've gotten Ultima Weapon by this time btw. Hands down, the BEST Ultima Weapon keyblade period! How is anybody not noticing these montages are on loop for 10 full minutes?! .-.
...But don't get me wrong, I still like the video overall! Keep up the good work, @Everglow! :)
I come here for the music.. the montage is an added bonus
One of the songs I've been looking forward to the most. Thanks Everglow!
This fight on crit is actually pretty fun outside of the fact that both terranort and vanitas have attacks that can kill you from across the battlefield.
This fight still pops up in my head every now and then…
What I wanna know is.... WHERE THE HELL DID LINGERING WILL DISSAPPEAR TO.
Also I goddamn called it with the Guardian was goddamn Terra's heartless(kinda) all along.
@blozzybabe2 I'm guessing they probably ganged up on him or something.
Sivrn Val RIGHT?!? The entire time I was just waiting for him to show up and take back his body but after stopping Terranort after the ese he just kinda disappeared from existence
It was just echoes of Terra's sentiments after all, once the original Terra came back there was no reason for it to exist
Why are people getting butt hurt over the lingering will..
Apparently people are saying the utimania states that the lingering will was kinda like Terra's nobody.
These guys better be secret bosses in the final mix version of the game. With the same party members and everything.
There will be no Final Mix version unfortunately :/
Erik Kapitan there will be DLC
One thing that i wish we would have had during this fight was dialogue during the fight like with the Anti-Aqua fight
Vanitas: What's the matter Ventus, upset that your friend's fighting alongside me now
Ventus: Shut Up! He's only doing this because of Xehanort and we are going to free him
Vanitas: Never
Terra-Xehanort: So it seems that the misguided master managed to get out of the realm of darkness
Aqua: Terra, I know that this isn't you. Keep fighting him a little longer
Terra-Xehanort: Just accept it, your friend is lost forever all because you failed to follow your master's orders
Aqua: I didn't fail, and Terra isn't lost. He's fighting, and we are going to free him Xehanort
1:28 that tag team though. Amazingly timed.
0:27-0:31 like how the music swells
up when Sora comes on screen that’s a nice touch
Yeahh omgg❤️
everglow, thank you so much for uploading these videos!! i can’t believe what happened to the old reMIX SONGS OF 1.5 and 2.5 Keep up the amazing work!!
What happened to those vids?
Daniel Hewitt youtube took them down i believe? don’t take my word for it. i don’t want to speak for everglow. but all those super nice extended versions of the songs are gone now :(
Damn UA-cam. Why?
« You release my friend’s heart ! »
« NOPE »
You never fail to amaze me!
Just wanted to thank you for your great effort ^^
What bugs me is that they program BBS/Days as an ally just for this fight and never seen them again. They totally wasted an opportunity having them as party in other worlds which could lead to an epic finale with the guardians of light especially (Aqua!!
Also 0:56 Sora and Aqua Unison Curaga lol
I just wanna fight these bosses again square. Why won't you let me fight them again because these were the best fights in the game. The keyblade wielders AI was fucking incredible all around and I could combo with fucking AQUA. Which I did multiple times. It warmed my sad little heart.

Damn man I wish I could have actually heard this track in the game, need a music volume setting
My thoughts exactly
I rather think it was a cinematic logic to it than making it more a challange i see it as a creative side.
The song of someone too angry to die
Thank you so much for your point about gameplay building empathy Everglow! My brother does not get my attachment to Xion and it’s 100% because he did not have to drag her (lovable, strong, sweet) ass through so many damn missions in 358 😂
0:17 - 0:27 is the best 10 seconds of the entire Kingdom Hearts soundtrack
Theres so much emotion in it
I'm a KH3 whiner.
We got spoiled on KH2 final mix :( but I agree with you
You know what....
I really wish they had made terranort as part of the final battle vs the other norts. The guy is more xehanort than both ansem and xemnas lol
I thought this was litteraly going to be a minute seeing that lingering will was nowhere to be found after the dust settled like where did he go?
He merged with Xehanort's Guardian. Refer to Namine's words in the Final World
Marcus Cheng oh ok shame though, would have loved to team up with him even if its a couple of minutes
My Dingle Dongle was hard during all of the Keyblade Graveyard Fights
ew
Terra-Xehanort: Dark times ahead.
BREAK HIM!
It is always darkest before dawn.
I guess Everglow will do another episode of the story again when KH3 finishes with some DLC?
Now with Re Mind dlc the true rematch with Lingering Will playable is possible and a remix of this theme must be done
D'''X
😍my favorite part 1:16 -1:37 aaa the melody! 😁
I mostly regret the disapearenc of fusions... Man, imagine the DOPE to fight those bosses dual wielding keyblade with valor form..
1:00 Best part in my opinion
Well this is epic
I agree with everflow i just wanted to fight the Organization with EVERYONE! It was so badass fighting along with Roxas... ROXAS! and Axel the two hardest organization members in KH2FM. I didn't care about the difficulty at this point it was so fucking fun just pulling off combos and link strikes and using Ars Arcanam and finishing it off with Ultima Form!
Sora : (Sleeps for a few years)... welp I need to remember how to do everything again!
Ventus : (sleeps through most of the series) Lets dive right back to fighting my final boss!
Let go of the light Sora. The SPAGHETTI is nothing to fear.
As much as I love this I wish they made a full dismiss remix and not just for a cutscene
One of the few osts of yoko’s from kh3 that I liked
Cosmic Sans ik IT
But Yoko didnt make most of them... Ishimoto and some others did
Not only have we never played as Kairi, I haven't seen a mod for any kh game that lets you do that
I feel like Rage awakened shouldn’t be the official name of this track... probably like Slumbering Rage or something that acknowledges the classic track but also reflects the somberness of the song and environment.
Yeah, it has like a few nods here and there, but that's about it.
Perfectly timed 0:11 👌
Are you doing final world theme?
Are people seriously complaining about KH3's difficulty? I think this game is so fun and unique with so much important lore, it seriously doesn't matter how hard it is
Ginyu Tokusentai that’s how I feel! I knew I was over leveled but I really just cared about the lore too!
@@Rikkusen Exactly! Hell, I was under leveled (wasn't even lvl 40 by the end, and trust me, I'm NOT the best at this) and it was still relatively easy, but I didn't care about that in the slightest during the entirety of the Graveyard
Ginyu Tokusentai Seeing them all together after so many years...I was so excited!!
One Day I”ll set this right...
Can't wait to hear the Nort Court Montage! Keep em coming!!
>Nort Court
I love this
PFTHAAH!!!!!!
Nort Court?!
That's. PRICELESS!!!!!
Lingering Will was so wasted in KH3 TBH, Should have had him beat TerraXehanort if you werent gonna let us play him one more time
We call him terranort.
Really disappointed they didn’t give a second fight with Lingering Will as a party member.
Who else tried to take down vanitas first because they guessed that terra would be saved after defeating terranort. I had to make it make narrative sense lol
Me
I did but all I did was end the song
Never saw the attack at 1:42 , what it is ? :o
Awesome montage btw !
Edit : i guess it's the Ultima finisher
It's the starlight finisher
It's Starlight's third level Situation Command.
Dark times ahead!
Kh1: best story
Kh2: best gameplay
Kh3: best graphics
Btw this is the factual truth and non debatable. If you think otherwise you are lying to yourselves
NegaNiga Plz You mean,
BBS and Days: Best original story
KH1: Best Disney worlds story
What happens if you defeat Terra-Xehanort before Vanitas?
In this case however, the cutscene with the Guardian and Terra taking his body back always takes place last.
If you defeat Terra-Xehanort first, you get a short scene of him falling over and become unconscious. Then you fight Vanitas alone, the Vanitas scene plays and then the Guardian scene takes place.
If you kill Xehanort before Vanitas Enter the Darkness plays
Does anyone know where I can get access to this music? there doesn't seem to be a soundtrack available for purchase
if it was realistic, im sure Aqua and Ventus will be spamming seeker mines everywhere
i should have a kingdom hearts arena fighter online tbh
0:26 Where are Terra?!
Oml. What was that at 1:40 ?I never got that situation command. Can someone please tell what that was
Himel Its the starlights final finish. Just fill up the situation command bar 2 times after going into Second form S
