- Wilderness Days is a weekly program on wildlife and environment which is telecast on Doordarshan National every Saturday at 11a.m. Already, over 112 episodes have gone on air non-spot. The program captures the beauty of Indian wildlife as also various critical issues which affect our environment at large.
Many decades ago, Jim Corbett unburdened the Uttarakhand’s Kumaon region of its man-eating tigers. Gradually progressing in his endeavours, Corbett, through his self authored books, entered the fables of Kumaon.
To this day, he is considered as one of the best environmentalists to have emerged from India, somebody whose dedication to wildlife gave a second charter of life to the tigers. But what about the man-eating tigers in Kumaon? Have they departed too, along with Corbett?
Our today’s story concerns this question.So let’s leap into that untold tale of Uttarakhand…

What if they been living there for ages now?
I have a home in a village which 80 years ago was terrorized by the tigers. Though no tigers are there now and the forest has been cut down to make mustard and paddy fields! Some poultry farms as well!

Killing the animal is not the solution
But Bengal Tigers are our country's pride although given the fact that they are man-eaters. The problem is we human beings are messing up with the eco-system through more deforestation which is definitely a severe cause of imbalance. If we try to occupy their dwelling spaces then obviously we have to face the devastation. Anyways, an informative insight by Sir Tom Alter...RIP Sir.

Wish if there is subtitle in english. The only word that i understood from this fantastic video was TIGER.
The problem is Indian law that values tigers more than humans. This whole thing would have been easily taken care of if people were allowed to carry guns. With night vision technology, this tiger would be dead before he could even get his second human.
