- You will have to squint your eyes to spot Rehman Kheda on the map of Uttar Pradesh. It’s a small, sleepy little village on the outskirts of Lucknow. Of course, there is this huge complex of Central Institute for Sub-Tropical Horticulture nearby which gives some semblance of identity to Rehman Kheda. But suddenly, one fine morning in the January of 2012, Rehman Kheda and the Central Institute shot to public attention. For, a wild tiger decided to arrive and make itself comfortable in the area.
Wilderness Days is a weekly program on wildlife and the environment which is telecast on Doordarshan National and Epic Channel. Already, over 112 episodes have gone on air non-spot. The program captures the beauty of Indian wildlife as also various critical issues which affect our environment at large.

I felt so sad for this poor tiger. He was merrily wandering around minding his own business. I do however understand that it would scare the hell out of people just knowing of his presence.

He could be 'soon-to-be-a-maneater'. Man-eater tigers, are heard to be living near human habitations. He looks so sluggish. Was it a pet and then disowned? How come journalists came to know about its existance before the villagers. Were they given tip? 😃 He wasn't ready to leave the truck and kept watching the jungle around for 40 minutes. Was he new to the jungle atmosphere or had he learnt a good lesson from his mighty opponent?
