of the shows during Queen's 1982 European Hot Space Tour (April 9, to June 5). From
the size of the audience in the video, she was definitely opening for someone.

If you read the description, the uploader says she was probably opening for Queen. I love Joan and seen her enough times in concert to know that she is not an arena artist. She can't sell out stadiums but she sure as hell can put on one great festival show. She does better in up-close and personal venues.

She might have been opening for The Who. I know they toured in 1982 -- it was a fake farewell tour. I know the Clash opened for them on some of that tour, but it's possible a band as huge as the Who would have two opening acts. I saw the Police on their Synchronicity tour, and they had two opening acts (Madness and Thompson Twins, if you care.)
