Hey bro great video l've booked 2 months there first time visiting, there's a lot of negative info pushing the fear of being robbed out there l feel from research but seeing first hand locals pushing the have common sense you'll be just fine. I feel a bit more confident its just like any other city don't be flashing wealth in these country's blend in enjoy the culture l think is the way to go. My Spanish is zero so l hope l can learn a bit there staying for so long, if you have advice on where to stay for a first timer for about 2 months l'll greatly look into it. Thank you
It’s only dangerous if you’re careless or aren’t aware of what the threats are. For longer stays I’d recommend Laurelles, Envigado, Itaguii, or sabaneta neighborhoods
I visit medelin the last 3 weeks stay in Laureles next by calle 70 never a unsafety feeling just the same as other big city in the world. Friendly people and enough police on the street. Even in el Centro, comune 13 by day no problems. sometimes you see there more Wanderers and junks. use your common sense .And many thanks for your video
I would say find one online that has reviews from other tourists. There’s people in town who will try to be your “guide” for different things when they see you’re a gringo. Those are the guides you should avoid
El Centro isn't that dangerous at all, that's where i stay when i go there and tbh i feel like less of a target than being in El Poblado because people looking to steal are going to do so in crowded areas in more well off places imo.
@@CarterOnCam yea man I walked around day and night all over Medellin El Centro and every in between and the only time I got nervous was when I saw cops. Those cops are the worse
Don't be scared off by this video. El Centro is safe in the daytime. Thousands of people there, shopping, dinning and working. There is police presence there, so it is not as dangerous some people say. I would avoid being there at night when most of the locals leave as well.
@@MiguelGonzalez-py5ud okay thanks for the response, theres a running theme of 'its fine in the day time but when u see the sun start to go down, leave' thats fine tbh should be nice to check it out thanks

You are a daring fellow
I spent two years in Medellin and the only problem i ever had was one time i was robbed by the cops for 600,000 pesos. 😂😂😂
A 2 year run with only 1 incident isn’t too shabby

I wanted to visit centro too for the iconic chess board style cathedral like building, and to see the statues, thats a shame
If you do make sure it’s daytime and you don’t bring anything you can’t risk losing
