- Toy Commercials for the 1991 remake series of Land of the Lost. These toy commercials can be found on the VHS releases of the series.
Also does anyone know if they ever released the figure for the Cyborg? I was curious because I have been looking everywhere for one but was never successful. - Розваги
The Cyborg punching Scarface in the face was the most metal thing ever on the show.
Agreed! Really sad Tiger Toys never released the figure to the public :(
@@badmrfrosty09 I figured as much. He must've been near the end of the line. Kinda dickish to make a commercial for something you never intend to sell.
I went insane for this commercial as a kid and split my personality into that of the great beast as if he were my imaginary friend.
Back when you could advertise a toy line during the time the show was airing (although I don't technically ever remember that changing)
I STILL have each and every single one of the action figures! And I am 23 now. I LOVED the Nickelodeon lineup when I was a kid
Michael Ells did you have the cyborg also?
It was on nickelodeon until later
Wanna sale them?
Back when being a kid was awesome
Right! This is what growing up in the 90s was all about! We had so many cool movies and shows (even if they didn’t all last very long)! Happy to have grown up in that era! 😊❤️
nostalgia as fuck bro
I remember these Thank You
I always wanted these toys as a child. Now I'll never get them :(
Go on Ebay! Scarface is 400 bucks in it's package lol! The others aren't so bad though.
These have come down in price on ol' eBay. Check them out again!

Are you in canada? I remember getting really excited when I saw them advertised but I never saw them in stores (at least in my region)
Same
I remember this commercial haven't seen it in years 🙃
Love how this played before the episodes.
Right? Those were the good days of owning VHS in the 90s and they would promote toys based off lots of shows and movies! 😊
If you find any of these toys on ebay they would probably be like over $400 to buy.
I wish this was available on Disney plus, Netflix or even Hulu. Just so I can watch the episodes again. I know I haven't seen all of them. Suggestions anyone?
The whole series is here on UA-cam, as well as the LOTL series from the '70's.
It's free on Torrent.
very nice
I had no idea the show had a toy line.
garganrose they sure did and I have most of them aside from the Cyborg, The Jeep and a few others. What id give to have all these figures still in their boxes! ^^
That voice-changer on Shung didn’t do shit. Certainly didn’t do what it does on the commercial, that’s clearly done in post.
20 years too late 😢😢😢
Wow I had that toy truck but my brother broke hours before I got it lol I want to re-buy someday lol
I always wanted the big monster that could eat the other toys and for that reason alone...I was a little weird.
lol same here
Wish Tiger actually released him!
I have scarface and the car and it reminded me of jurassic park
I think it's the other way around, unless you mean Jurassic Park the novel which, yes, predated this show and its toyline.
Those were the days when boys were tiger cubs. Now they just wanna be girls.
I had Scarface :D
CrucibleOfFlame I still have mine! He was always my brother and I’s favorite character!
Yes they did :) I have them all
The Cyborg was never produced so unless you own the prototype or one-up....
Yep i rember this Scareface rules
I found a toy collector who has this on Instagram
Wow really? That is awesome! You’ll have to share because I’m a huge fan of this series! 😊
Yes indeed he does!
Did they really make dolls of Annie and Kevin too?
sweetlife031 Figures? Yes there’s the father and Annie and Kevin.
Did you already find out if the Cyborg exists? Can't find any info on the internet on that guy!
Thats what I want to know, I cant find anything about that figure.
It was prototyped, but never produced, here is a link to a bit more info from someone who collects Sid & Marty Krofft Merch, who happened to track one down. instagram.com/p/BR1NvqkAn4D/?taken-by=kroffty Too bad, I still want one.
Hey will Hasbro re-issue those Land of the Lost toys?
I don't remember that lol
No action figure of the Father? Probably didn't want to make the same mistake they made with the Father during the first series, he wanted royalties from his likeness and they said, NO, and he walked. So this time, they just didn't show his likeness on anything to avoid the same problem.
They did do one of Tom Porter but it was probably made after they did this commercial! My brother and I never owned him but remember seeing pictures of them!
Does anyone know where pictures, or more information, on the cyborg beast toy can be found? I've tried searching all over but no success.
Part of the reason you can't find any info on him is that he was not going to be called Cy or even the Cyborg, but "The Great Beast." So anyone trying to find info on a Cy the Cyborg toy isn't going to have any luck because Tiger didn't call him that.
But, to answer your question, he never got made outside of the one(s) seen in the commercial(s). He was scheduled for a 1993 release, and the show was cancelled in 1992. Kids being fickle little boogers who lose interest in things quickly (and they especially hate toylines with no corresponding show to tell them they need them), I guess Tiger saw no reason to release the planned figure for a show that had already ended.
The line seems to have been mishandled, at least in my opinion. Land of the Lost debuted in 1991, but no toys were made until the following year, during the show's second season when the writing was already on the wall - kids either weren't interested in the show, or at least weren't interested enough to want toys from it. Just as a toyline often requires a corresponding show to make kids want it, so too does a show sometimes need a tie-in series of toys to promote it. I'm half-convinced that the reason the show didn't take off despite massive interest in dinosaurs in the years leading up to Jurassic Park was that unlike something like Ninja Turtles it did not have a toy series right out of the gate to promote it and keep it fresh in kids' minds. ABC waited just slightly too long to have any made. By the time the second season was released, everyone had moved on; it and the corresponding toyline that came a year late were released to a resounding chorus of "meh."
The irony is that the very year after Land of the Lost hit the skids and got axed, Jurassic Park came along and suddenly dinosaurs were cool again. Okay, well, to be fair, they were never NOT cool to 90s kids, but what I mean is that it had begun to fade ever-so-slightly from '91-'92 and even a dependable interest in prehistoric creatures wasn't enough to keep Land of the Lost going, especially not with its clearly expensive production values. That stop-motion animation doesn't pay for itself.
The sad part is, from what I can tell, Land of the Lost performed well in reruns on Nickelodeon starting in 1995, showing that it could do well in the post-Jurassic Park world. And considering that it was axed the year before that juggernaut hit and injected new enthusiasm for dinosaurs into popular culture, well, I think ABC should've kept it going for one more year just to see how it'd perform. If it'd held out, I think it could've enjoyed renewed popularity as kids fresh from seeing Jurassic Park and hungry for more dinosaur action found it. I mean, they still did, but this was after ABC had cancelled it and Tiger had stopped making the toys.
Land of the Lost was a show that was simultaneously introduced too late and ended too soon. It debuted, and was cancelled, during that brief, brief period in the very early 90s when the wave being ridden from the late 80s dinosaur craze was just starting to recede and right before the tsunami of Jurassic Park hit and kept it going for another decade. In short, Land of the Lost missed out big time, coming at just the wrong time and ending at just the wrong time. And that's why we'll never have a Cy the Cyborg figure. :(
@@williamhiers1280 Actually, the series was #1 on Saturday Mornings. The reason the show was cancelled wasn't ratings. It was because ABC effectively killed off their entire Saturday Morning lineup and replaced it with cheaper news programming instead. Fox and UPN still ran children's programming but for the Major Three, it sounded the death knell for Saturday Mornings as we knew it.
I wish that the human figures would be smaller because compared to scarface they're hug2
I think it's more that Scarface was tiny. I got him as a kid, but only him because even then on some level I realized that the scale didn't match up. And because he was the only one I wanted. I had some interest in Shung and Nim but I stubbornly never got them because they didn't have their tails, a very bizarre oversight on Tiger's part. I mean, yes, the Sleestaks' tails were short, but not exactly unnoticeable. And I'm annoyed in hindsight that they were planning to make the Cyborg but never did.
They didn't include stink.
There was a Stink action figure. I used to have it.
Two in fact. The regular version and a "talking" version.
Also, a furry plush doll.
That Cyborg is a lot like the Pudgy Pig figure from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers toys
The toy of scarface looks nothing like him I mean on the toy of him doesn't a scar on his own face through his eye
In hand it did. I remember distinctly. He's painted differently than the version used for the commercials.
