I just feel like a lot of the newer thrash bands have vocals that sound the same. Back in the day it was very diverse. You had the Hetfield, the Mustaine, the Araya, the Bobby Blitz, the Chuck Billy, the Belladonna, and if you considered earlier Pantera you had the Anselmo (among others of course).
Agreed. I love me some good old thrash metal, but God damn do all of these bands have to sound the same? I put on Rust In Peace, Ride The Lightning, The New Order, Among The Living, those albums all have their own unique sounds and styles. Maybe it isn't fair to compare newer albums with those classics, but Jesus fucking try at least.
Nick Yelovich I was thinking the same thing as I watched this video. Also, I can't understand most. what's the point in writing lyrics if ppl can't understand them?
monokhem these Pimple Poppers just don't get it??& neither do most of the bands out now.there's good shit coming out?but there are just too many fuckin bands!!& there's no sign of it getting any better
I had no idea the Brazilian scene was so big. That's really cool! Old school thrash began in the US but now it's all over I think that's amazing. Thrash has always been my favorite sub genre of metal. I used to listen to my dads megadeth, slayer, and Metallica cds and albums. \m/
I gotta go with Havok, Angelus Apatrida, Warbringer, and Evile as my top 4 new wave thrash bands at the moment, but keep an eye on ThrashWall. If those guys continue cranking out material as crushing as their self-titled album released last year, they'll quickly rise to the top.
here's my top 20: 20)jack devil 19)gama bomb 18)skeleton witch 17)merciless death 16)lost society 15)terrifier 14)bio-cancer 13)fueled by fire 12)suicidal angels 11)crisix 10)violator 9)lich king 8)toxic holocaust 7)power trip 6)vektor 5)warbringer 4)municipal waste 3)evile 2)act of defiance 1)havok
@@rufussamsquanch_6547 all i can say is when i was in 10th grade & heard RTL by Metallica?there was nothing like it?Anthrax was around but they have never put out anything like Riegn in blood, pleasure to kill, bonded by blood type shit?Anthrax & megadeth have shitty vocals, just weak ass shit & Nuclear Assault vocals r even shittier plus what have they ever done that matterd or set them apart?theyre a 4th or 5th rate band.Overkill was the only band from the east coast that stood out bigtime & maybe whiplash
so where is Evile, Warbringer, Fueled by Fire, Tormenter, Gama Bomb, Dust Bolt, Rezet?, I think that a few of these are way better than a few of some of your list. it's just an opinion.
Great bands, Havok is in my Top 10 list too ... bands i missed are the following: Traitor, Demolizer, Space Chaser, Antipeewee, Enforced, Pripjat, Godslave
I used to listen to two thrash bands that are very little but I honestly love: Tantara and Diamond Plate. If you know them, you know what I'm talking about hahaha
Are these really NEW Bands? Iron Reagan, Havok, Lost Society, Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust... I thought they were all at least pre 2010. Some newer albums maybe.
Muito foda a lista é claro sendo um top 10 muita coisa foda teria que ficar de fora ae vai do critério de cada lista de cada um, na minha por exemplo sairia Bio - Cancer e Jack Devil e entraria Lazarus ad e Lich King
Suicidal angels sounded fucking awesome cant wait to check them out new most of the other bands but evile wasn't in here for what ever reason and seriously toxic holocaust at 10th spot like for a 3 piece band and to be that heavy and that consistent with there material is fucking badass
I would include Dekapitator. Faster, more german-thrash style, which is different from the majority Nuclear Assault/DRI style that rules almost all the bands in this list. And I agree with those who commented that bands in this modern wave of thrash are very similar and has a terrible lack of originality. In this sense, I feel death metal and grindcore are styles that have evolved and renewed with time (black metal probably too, but I'm not a specialist), which I really don't see happening with thrash. But It is cool that kids are loving the genre, classical bands have returned and, of course, new bands shake (despite their limitations) the scene.

finally someone that understands! Thrash will always be my favorite genre, but nothing stacks up to Kill em All or Lightning
Listen to Vektor they have a unique vocal style in tm
Evile have a great vocalist

They all sound exactly the same to me. Old school Thrash had variation and uniqueness.
That's what I always say.
Check out this new band - ua-cam.com/video/X_-_CFcw07Y/v-deo.html
Some bands sounds like more death metal
Mursu 22 That's because they're death/thrash.
Very few thrash bands are pure thrash anymore.
Mursu 22 I call it Brutal Thrash.
or #10 black/thrash
monokhem these Pimple Poppers just don't get it??& neither do most of the bands out now.there's good shit coming out?but there are just too many fuckin bands!!& there's no sign of it getting any better

I'm 20 btw, just thought I would throw that in there.

Ultra-violence broke my heart with their last album
There is stull hope in the metal scene. Good work! 👍

Eu colocaria Dr. Living Dead, Gama Bomb e Lich King no lugar do Jackdevil e do Bio-Cancer!!! Ótimo vídeo!!! =)
Dr living dead é a banda cara, muito foda
Warbringer, crisix, angelus apatrida, dust bolt?
Lazarus A.D is such a great Thrash metal band too... but still unknown from the public
toky fano Don't worry. You aren't the only one who knows
Drummer died. They’ve since disbanded.
Dust Bolt and Warbringer are hands down 2 of the best thrash bands. Just having good clean riffs and great vocals.

Havok and municipal waste really excellent
Power Trip?
I missed scatterbrain and power mad ... They are skillfull
Scatterbrain the great but not thrash

Angelus Apatrida and Crisix from Spain are fantastic bands too.
I'm so old and lost now I'll stay with my 90s and 80s
